Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is an entertaining game for kids. Lots of typical Ice Age humour is interwoven in this game. The only bad thing is the length and the fact that it's all a bit too simple, so therefore platform lovers should better leave this game on the shelves.

Overall, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is game that will please its target audience. But for those that do not consider themselves Ice Age fans, or fall out of the under 12-year old age bracket, then Dawn of the Dinosaurs will inevitably disappoint.

There are plenty of fun movie-inspired platforming levels, and the unlockable multiplayer modes certainly add some replay value. If you or someone you know loves the Ice Age franchise, then this game will certainly please fans without giving them too much of a challenge.

In the videogame adaptation of the Ice Age 3 movie you'll get to control several characters from the movie. Most levels have a unique flavor of their own which leads to a varied but also somewhat splintered experience. Everything from Indiana Jones inspired levels to controlling dinosaur spaceship is represented in the game. Though it might be a somewhat uneven experience Ice Age 3 is still the best movie based game for kids thus far.

It falls short of an unqualified recommendation at full-price because of a difficulty curve that's more or less flatlined, and the sometimes glacial (as an 'ice age', ha!) pace of the action. [Sept 2009, p.75]

It's definitely enjoyable, just not as polished as a AAA title might be.

If you are a parent who is looking for a game to play with their child that both of you can enjoy: this succeeds quite admirably. It even offers a multiplayer mode if you want to compete together, although this consists solely of mini-games rather than any co-operative sections within the game.

I personally enjoyed the variety of gameplay and chasing the Achievements for challenges, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but an Ice Age super-fan under the age of 10.

This is a very fun and accessible title, but only for children.

I was left wanting more, and wondering why solid gameplay sections were only used once.

Ice Age may be kid-friendly, funny, and faithful to the movie, but it's also repetitive and over too quickly.

A nice game, for a very young public but that sometimes will even please the nostalics of old 2D platform games. Surely suitable for kids and families willing to relive the movie adventures with Sid and friends.

A family-friendly action/adventure for Ice Age fans.

While the game offers a great variety in the first half of the game, the later parts feel incomplete and uninspired. The characters feels like the typical video game cast, and with some decent voice acting, this could have been a pretty good game. For kids.
