Hexodius is one of those games you can pick up quickly and play for a short time. With great sound effects and upgrades it is a fun game. But it has that problem for the consoles: it’s too short and too boring to play for quite a while. If Hexodius was placed right in front of us and you would say it was a mobile game, we would have believed you.

Hexodius is a fun twin stick shooter. Its only problem is that before it proves it, it dwells on too many boring and unexciting levels.

Hexodius turned out to be a game with a weak story, predictable enemy patterns and basically boring gameplay, and even though you might get a few kicks out of it, at the end, there are a whole lot better options out there.

Enduring the samey mission types 20 or more times apiece makes the mundane quest feel like a dull grind, and the challenging boss showdowns and resource-gathering minigames don’t stand out enough to offset the tedium.

Gamers with significant visual impairments will have new reasons to question their eyesight, and the true nostalgia hungry fans will be vastly disappointed at the lack of content compared to other games such as Stargate and Geometry Wars.
