Multiplayer: Lots of new features since halo 3, like the new voting system. Many new creative gametypes like headhunter, stockpile, and the big one, invasion. All new creative maps, such as Spire and Boneyard can really give a satisfying touch. FireFight: They have greatly inhanced this mode since halo 3:odst. There are much more customizable options, like the ability to change the enemies during a wave, or mess around how strong you are in battle. Forge: You can now build forge maps in the new giant map called forge world. You change the way the pieces interact with the environment. Bungie has all ready made some forge maps for you to play in like the remake of Blood Gulch and other remakes, and new ones like The Cage. Now it is much easier to build big maps. In conclusion, this game has barely any flaws, and it is worth every penny you spend it one Expand

As Bungie's final entry in the Halo franchise, it is quite clear they were in for one last hurrah. It showcased a brand new engine, built from the ground up, which makes Halo 3 look like a game from the last generation, even though both games are exclusive to the same system. In terms of visuals, Reach is a beautiful game. Textures have been vastly improved, along with exceptional lighting and shading. The amount of detail is impeccable, each location is unique in it's design and colour palette. However, one of the must important features of the engine, is the inclusion of motion blur, which allows for a much more cinematic experience. This also masks the fact that Reach only runs at thirty frames per second. The game does show case a high level of graphical fidelity, and this does cause the frame rate to drop when things get busy on screen, however, this is a minor annoyance considering it runs smoothly most of the time. In terms of gameplay, it's what you expect from the Halo franchise. Level design makes the most of it's sandbox style of approach. Yes, there are a few linear sequences throughout the campaign. The campaign is not overly scripted like other shooters,(Call Of Duty, I'm looking at you) but it combines the two for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The weapons remain the same, but have been refined and modified to provide a more thrilling shooting experience. Old favourites have returned, such as my best friend, the UNSC assault rife. The DMR also returns, but instead of a three shot burst, it's been dialed down to firing one shot at a time. You will encounter subtle changes across the board, but the weapons will retain essentially the same function from previous Halo games. If I have to gripe, I found myself retaining UNSC weapons throughout the campaign, the covenant weapons, in my opinion, don't offer the same level of satisfaction with the exception of explosive weapons such as the Brute shot and Plasma Launcher. Then we come to assassination kills, which allows the player to perform a brutal melee attack upon an unsuspecting enemy. This contributes to the overall cinematic experience.Suit abilities have been more streamlined and apparent, with the inclusion of abilities, such as sprint, armour lock, drop shield, active camo, evade and hologram. This allows the player to tailor a unique experience that suits any gameplay style.

The AI has also been given a major overhaul, Grunts make their return, serving the purpose of being the games cannon fodder once again. Grunts will often resort to run-and-gun tactics, and not utilize the dynamic AI showcased in other enemies such as Zealots and Brutes,(Yes, Brutes actually use their brains in this title). These enemies will work together, and sometimes flank you rather than take a head on approach. The drastically improved AI will bring a new level of challenge to the players, and players will benefit greatly from incorporating a tactical approach rather than going in with all guns blazing.

Personally, I found the Reach campaign the most enjoyable in the Halo franchise on the current generation of the Xbox 360. It is a thrilling experience from start to finish, boasting a simple, yet well-written story throughout. The story does indeed pull on some emotional chords, which is rare in action titles.Players unfamiliar with Halo lore will have no problems being immersed in a campaign that spans from eight to ten hours depending on your difficulty. The campaign offers four difficulty levels encouraging multiple playthroughs, adding to it's replay value. Halo: Reach is truly an amazing title, and is one of 2010's best shooters, if not the best Halo game to date.

Watch this space for my opinion on multiplayer and the revamped Firefight mode, and yes, it doesn't disappoint,.

The campaign is okay - commendations make it easier so you can have side of objectives while playing. New Easter eggs make the game have a sense of extra exploration in the player. Firefight is now really blooming and is full of fun, now with playlists for online and a variety of game modes to try. Multiplayer - this is where all that Halo magic was lost. The fun playlists - gone or revamped in to more boring things. Rumble Pit, for instance, used to be full of fun things. Now all it is is slayer. Living Dead - while yes, its now permanent, no more other fun, variety full game modes. The maps from Halo 3.... gone. They were really fun, but now they're gone. No more Foundry. No more Sandbox. No more any of that crap. Sigh... if you want another similar story from a game that struck the Xbox Live nation to a game that everybody just says "Ehhh...", check out Modern Warfare 2 to Black Ops. Reach is one of the best first person shooters out there. Although many of you may not understand the story line of the game because although its a prequel it still kind of expects you to have played the other games first. Although many of you may not understand the story line of the game because although its a prequel it still kind of expects you to have played the other games first. Many of you may also say the story doesn't step up to the plate of halo combat evolved but it is the best single player campaign since the first halo not because its story is great but because there is so much variety. In one level you may be sneaking around on farmlands sniping down elites but in the next level you could be flying around on a gunship in a massive urban environment in the middle of an all out war. This game definetly has the most variety of any halo campaign even though its story may not be up to par of halo combat evolved, but that's why I gave it a 9 not a 10.
The multiplayer in this game also has an amazing amount of variety from up to a 4 player co-op Campaign (online 4 player, local 2 player), firefight, 4 player split screen, matchmaking, and not to mention its improved forge mode where almost any map from past halo games or completely new maps can be easily created or recreated. The improved forge mode also allows players to adjust current maps to their liking. But there are still some flaws that I'd like to see fixed about forge such as completely changing the colours (that's not bad grammar I'm just Canadian) of the building blocks instead of just changing what team it should belong to (red or blue). The game also has new features (which were inspired by COD MW) such as the equipment feature which allows you to have the ability either to sprint, jetpack, bubble shield, armour lock...etc. This feature adds a whole new strategy to the game as you can only carry one equipment at a time so you must choose between classes before the beginning of a match. It's a welcome addition to the gameplay but its obviously inspired by Call of Duty. Also inspired by Call of duty is its massively lengthy leveling up. It can take days to rank up once you get into the higher ranks and once you get to the extremely high ranks it can feel like forever to get to the next one. But with each new rank comes new armour which give you a slight satisfaction for wasting so much time trying to rank up. On to presentation, overall the graphics in this game are mediocre not the best graphics out there but there not terrible. The music as always is perfect for the game but I have to admit I do miss that famous sound of the quire singing. The voice acting is well done but kind of dull due to the storyline and the characters are kind of forgettable (again due to the storyline). At the end of the day Halo Reach may not have the best storyline or the perfect map creator or the best ranking up system but it does have one of the most fun gameplays out there with a lot of things to do so you're not gonna get bored quickly. Halo is about fun and variety which this game delivers that's why I'm giving it a 9/10.

The multiplayer part is as awesome as it is in previous game but with a few more adjustments. I recommend this to anyone who has a xbox 360 console.

Where this game truly shines is in its multiplayer. The new loadouts and abilities effectively shake up a combat system which was getting stale. Maps are well designed and heavy community support comes in the form of challenges and player-made levels. Forge has been improved and has almost limitless potential for creative level design. The let downs are the campaign missions which to be frank are mainly at their best firefights where one side exchanges fire with another. Sure firefight is back but to me it's just the same as last time with a few armour abilities like Sprint or Jet Pack. The main new feature that stood out for me was the levelling system which took place in SP and MP where the aim is to get credits for anything like kill an enemy or finish a level. With these newly acquired credits, armour can be bought to customize your Spartan. Overall a game I often play but it has it's let downs. Expand

The campaign is great, with characters you actually care about, incredibly smart (enemy) AI, and a mission or two that make you say, "I just did WHAT?!", Call of Duty style.
The true gem in the game, like many first-person shooters, is the multiplayer. New game modes like Invasion shake things up, with one team attacking control points and the other defending, while the game modes we all loved from the past games are back, like grifball.
The Forge is back, and better than ever. It's easier to use, and the game comes pre-loaded with the map Forge World, which has several relatively empty places to build from scratch. People, including me, like to complain about a lot of little things in this game, which prevented it from getting a perfect 10. Some of the ones I agree with: "The magnum still sucks!", and "What the hell are skirmishers?!"
All together, Reach is a great game with an incredible (and incredibly customizable) multiplayer experience, and it makes you wonder where the gaming industry would be if Reach didn't fall.

You make about 500 to 1000 Cr per Team Slayer and some items are 150,000 credits, certain helmets are 50,000 and each helmet has add ons that are 20,000 each but do nothing. I think they try and get you to love to attain these meaningless items. There are in game achievements you get Cr for also called Commendations. The levels for this are bronze, silver, gold and onyx. You get Cr for each one until you hit Onyx, you can go one whole set past it and you get nothing....lame! I also didn't like the fact that some very simple achievements on the DLC would give you 75 pts each, which is more than most on the game itself, it is a clear gimmick. But the DLC now!

Overall: I enjoyed this game, but some of the achievements were soooooooo time consuming it was irritating, its not just beating the game over...its investing hours and hours and hours into leveling up to Captain and Colonel. Fun game for a while, MP got boring quick, I smoke people and get 50 pts performance bonus, I do crappy and get 300. Well whatever, best Halo yet.

The story is lacking. I found it better on the second play through on legendary but I read a lot of the Halo lore after my first completion, which I supposed drew me into the world more so than the actual game did. Really, it's just follow the mission objectives without any real character development or drama. Many other FPS games have a better story. The graphics at times are very nice but often there's a ghosting or frame rate problem. It's a shame to say that you just get used to them, notwithstanding, the textures are great and there's some beautiful vistas - I just wish it ran better. The old excuse that "it like a sand box" fail, because the actual fighting areas don't seem much larger than most other games. It's either bungie or 360, but it's not a very smooth looking game. The MP also feels very dated, especially considering - with the exception of big team battle - most games are only 8 people. But strangely I can't stop playing the game, it's very addictive in its simplicity. I own Halo 1, 2 and 3; after 3 I thought I was finished with the Halo series because that game was terrible on every level but Reach is a very very good game. It's not game of the year, but if you love shooters and can stand a great old-school style FPS game Reach will give you your money's worth. I know I've said a lot of negative things about Reach, yet gave it a 9. The reason being is that I love playing it and I don't know why. The MP is so basic compared to my fav BFBC2 and even MW2 but running around trying to headshot people currently is dam fun. Oh, and jetpacks are a must for all FPS games from now on, there's so much potential for proper platforming. EDIT: Changed review from 9/10 to 10/10. I've played and loved the campaign 4 times over and logged many hours into MP now. This game is the piece de resistance of the Halo series. Expand

The multiplayer is where this game is brilliant value-for-money; many many modes from infection to classic team deathmatch, with anything from 4v4 to 9v9 games, you're sure to find something to play and there are many maps, some huge, some nice and intricate. Forge mode returns, but on a grand scale, with an enormous world on which to create a map. Firefight also returns, with Xbox LIVE support and very in depth settings to tweak how you wish. This game is literally jam packed with content and it's hard to fault it in any way or do anything but recommend buying. However, if you're buying this (as you should be) for the MMO side of things then you're in for a real treat. There's nothing groundbreaking about Halo Reach, but it's a beautifully polished multiplayer experience that you'll have hours of fun playing with friends. My biggest criticism of the MMO side of things is the lack of a working system that pits players against each other based on skill. There is an option for this in the custom menu, but it doesn't seem to work at all. What this means is that absolute newcomers will get pitted against experienced players which is indescribably frustrating as you try to find your bearings. Stick with it and it will be rewarding, but I'd have expected a better effort from an experienced developed like Bungie. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Halo: Reach is a true successor to the Halo Trilogy. Though not quite as awesome as Halo 3, it is still very well done and worth playing for anyone who regularly plays shooters. The storyline is one of the series' best, but for quite a different reason then you'd expect; set in the weeks before the beginning of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Reach covers the stories of Noble Team, an elite task force of SPARTANS who help defend the planet during its siege at the hands of the merciless Covenant. Unlike that of the Master Chief in the original trilogy, the personalities of these characters are given likenesses and then fleshed out. This provides the main weight of the story, as anyone who has even heard of Halo has some idea that Reach is glassed by the Covenant at the end of that battle, and everyone on the surface is killed. The story does provide some small hopes for victory, but they are all eventually dashed. Ultimately, it is the realization that none of the main characters survive the game that sets the deep tone for the game's storyline. The gameplay is for the most part the same as that of the first three Halo games, but some tweaks, such as the new timing aim mechanic, help to keep the shot-by-shot gameplay from getting stale. There are also armor abilities, special defenses with a recharge that can turn the tables of any situation, or even an entire match, if used properly. Overall, the base of the gameplay is the same, just with a lot more depth. This game has more content than any I have played before. The campaign is quite short at just seven or so hours on the first time through, but its reply value on higher difficulty settings keeps it fresh. There is also the revamped Firefight mode, where in the pre-game menu you can set everything from the strengths of players to the types of enemies you face. Multiplayer has the bulk of the content, however. Ditching the skill based ranking system of previous installments, the multiplayer for Reach is instead now entirely experienced based and allows you to use that experience to purchase cosmetic armor upgrades. This is a very good idea, as it provides a much better incentive to keep playing then the simple hope of increasing your rank that the previous games had. Reach is a must buy. Basically everything about it has been improved to the point of near perfection. The only complaints I have about it are the semi-rechargeable health bar that requires med kits, and the fact that armor upgrades are purely cosmetic despite their deceptively detailed descriptions, but these are only very minor annoyances. With more quality and content than any other game can boast to have (with the single exception of Halo 3), Reach is a deal that no sane shooter gamer can refuse. Expand

I have been a long term Halo fan. I bought my first xbox many years ago and with that the original of the franchise 'Halo: Combat Evolved.' To my joy I found a deep, mysterious universe wrought with peril and a slightly (very) stereotyped space marine guy to play as while he swept over the ring, escaping from a terrible foe.

Halo 2 came around, this time with multiplayer. Then Halo 3 with innovative features such as Forge and Theater mode - both these games having campaigns that are still vivid in my mind and multiplayer maps so immersive that I can smell them. Oh, and there was that mediocre ODST game that brought firefight.

    Then Reach.

    To start with - campaign.

The campaign was fun I guess, but not exactly difficult (even on legendary) but was overly short. The only characters to break out of the 'space marine' mould a little were Kat and Jorge. The story was mediocre, alien invasion with little real relevance to the overall story until the end.

The Forge mode has seen a considerable increase in quality, the ability to nudge objects or to precisely adjust the angle is a huge move in the right direction for the mode. Phasing objects into the ground receives a huge thumbs up from me. Truly, this map editing mode is very, very good. However, it is marred by the restrictive colour palette of grey and... well, grey.

Firefight has also seen an upgrade, with improved customisation options and matchmaking support, however, there is an insufferable lag whenever I play with anyone else (I have heard similar feedback from friends) so I normally end up playing on my own - kind of defeating the purpose of matchmaking support.

The theater mode has sacrificed multiplayer support for the ability to rewind campaign footage.

Finally, I move onto Matchmaking. I am so split over this, sometimes it works - in gametypes such as SWAT it feels fine but I can't help but feel frustrated when playing anything that isn't SWAT. The core of this comes down to a number of things - a bloom system that I don't feel belongs in Halo and very very very very very bad level design.

To put the design in context, I can remember the names of many H: CE maps, yet after a month of not playing Reach, I can remember two. Paradiso - infamous with a one-sided spawn and annoying weapon locations and the imaginatively named 'Forge World', designed with guess what in mind?

I don't think that Reach is essentially bad, and its not that I am bad at it - I had a k/d of 2 according to bungie.net over a few hundred games - but I found that I was getting very bored with Halo. Shooting a grunt's head with a DMR lost its appeal quickly, sticks and splatters were made redundant with armour and I was generally bored of the game very quickly compared to other Halo games.

Finally, I come onto custom games - where I spent weeks of my life in Halo 3. This to me was the core of the fun, with many community favourites such as a jenga tower variant where you had to stand on a tower as large chunks of scenery were fired at you - last man standing wins. These games normally racked up around 8 people, but many times went up to the max of 16. Meanwhile, I go onto Reach, set up a variant where you have to run down a track from a killball chasing you, get positive reviews when I show people one on one and then invite my friends list for a good, full game. Not one person joins. Why? Because you only get 200 credits for playing 10 minutes of custom games, while you can get 2000 for an enraging matchmaking game. Effectively, credits have destroyed custom games.

To sum up, the campaign and the multiplayer are average - while the firefight, forge and custom games are all absolutely fantastic, best in the console FPS genre, however, these are made redundant from a lack of players who are too busy annoying themselves getting virtual money to spend on virtual clothes for a virtual character. Halo just outsmarted itself.

Having not cared as much for Halo 3 as I would have liked to, Reach swooped back and rekindled my interest in the franchise. The story is better, the graphics are better, the gameplay is polished to the EXTREME and multiplayer is better than it has ever been with flawless level design. This is a full package with seemingly endless amounts of gameplay, not including solid DLC support.

I can't tell you how excited I was for this game to finally come out. I was a massive fan of Halo 3 and thought to myself: "Finally, a new game to keep me away from COD! And now, I can't tell you how horribly upset I am in purchasing this game. First off, the campaign isn't terrible, but it's far from good. The Noble Six Team has a variety of character, but none of them are very deep and you never really get to interact with them on a level further than "Stop shooting me, I'm on your side!" Obviously, since I knew the campaign ending, I was expecting an epic climactic battle. Instead, you get a very anti-climactic ending that leaves you staring at your screen, mouth ajar. They don't even use the classic epic Halo theme music in this campaign, which I was very disappointed in. The voice acting works, but nothing too special, and the cutscenes and cinematics are sometimes cool, but mostly boring. The achievement "Monument to Your Sins" was supposed to be ridiculously hard, and yet, I got it on the second day of owning the game. Moving on to multiplayer, this is what I bought the game for, and I must say that this is what REALLY disappointed me. The developers apparently got extremely lazy when making the maps for this one, considering several of them are remakes from Halo 2, and several others are Forge maps that you can make yourself in two hours. The other maps that are new are uninspired, boring, and bland. They have Team Snipers, and yet, there is only two maps where Team Snipers is adequete to be played on, while the other times it places you in The Cage, a Forge map where you respawn in the enemy's sniper crosshairs constantly. The spawning overall is terrible, and I have several Theater videos of either me respawning in front of an enemy or vice versa. The DMR is absolutely stupid, and the blossoming effect of the reticule takes out so much skill, resulting in a DMR match being a blindfiring spray and pray after the first 3 shots. Most of the other encounters with enemies quickly transform into a massive grenade-fest, with the enemies hiding around a corner chucking a seemingly unlimited amount of grenades around the corner at you. Armor abilities are ridiculous, especially Armor Lock, being very overpowered. My friend recommends SWAT, but that's the no-skill game mode, and I shy away from that. The character customization is cool, but the majority of the unlockables requires you to play probably in the neighborhood of a billion games, so that's no fun. The Forge is obviously very cool, and the Theater is still top notch for videos and screenshots, plus they have a new system where you can track down to see how many screenshots of other people you're in, which is cool as well. Overall, if you're a hardcore Halo fan, you can have some serious fun with this one if you don't mind lucky deaths and grenade wars. If you occasionally enjoy Halo, I'd probably stay away from this one. Sorry Bungie, but you need some catching up to do to COD if you want to be king again of the FPS's. Expand

It's similar to Halo 3 multiplayer, but the added sprint makes it feel more intense and makes up for the oversize maps. It's not frustratingly hard if you've played shooters previously. The sci-fi elements remain intact; don't expect a CoD clone when you pick this up. As for multiplayer modes, Bungie went full retard by adding jetpacks and an "armor lock" (ice block, anyone?) ability which completely ruins Slayer. (Slayer Pro fixes this issue, but is grouped in with other slayer modes.) But for people that enjoy Swat, Firefight, etc, you will be blown away. The story ending is probably one of the best endings I've seen in year for a game, other than ME2 or RDR (I prefer not to spoil the ending). The controls are not that bad, the only problem I have with it is the assassination, sometimes the button doesn't work, or maybe it's just my handling. But overall the control of the character is pretty good. The guns are the same throughout the halo series (other than the new armor abilities), but intervened a few new ones, which were quite useful and helpful. I quite enjoyed using the needler rifle to blow my enemies sky high. But I find it a little upsetting with the time different, because they intervened new weapons in Reach, that never appeared in halo 1, 2 or 3. The artwork is also astounding, great job by the game developers, loved the background. Also the easter eggs are highly the best to have fun with. Really those who own the game, search for the easter eggs and you'll love what you'd find, if you loved the games halo 1,2 and 3. The character you play is also astounding. You've got new armour and looks for your guy. It much more specific than halo 3. The details of the looks are new and amazing, unless your not into how you look. The online matchmaking is quick and very easy to use. Loved the multiplayer, felt like it was halo 2 again! I don't mind the firefight or the online co-op campaign. Doesn't matter if it the same in halo 2 and 3 or ODST. I mean seriously it should not be a factor of dislikes, they have new maps new enemies and heroes. I mean overall the game is excellent, but every game has its little glitches or defaults. So I really had to give it a 10. I'd say this is as good as Halo 2, maybe even better. Mainly, don't expect any decent return in terms of hours of gameplay unless you are only buying the game for the online multiplayer. I was able to finish the game in one 4 hour sitting. Pathetic for the price of games these days. Even worse when you consider how epic Halo 1 & 2 were.

I buy Halo games for the story, the great multiplayer is only a bonus, but with REACH I think they went the Call of Duty route and went thin on the story and focused on the multiplayer instead. If you only buy the game for the multiplayer you probably won't care about how bad REACH is, but if you do, save your money and just replay Halo 2.

They took everything they have learned since the first Halo on the original Xbox, and a ton of fan feedback and crafted not only the best Halo game but also one of the best console games this generation. The single player has a good story with improved cinematic direction over past games. Bungie is really starting to get good at visually telling a story.

The graphics have been improved greatly. Not only all the maps huge and very complex but they are also highly detailed with some truly impressive lighting and particle effects. Texture for texture Halo Reach isnt the best looking game on consoles but when you consider the size of everything, the indoor outdoor shifts, map complexity, all the effects and all the action thats going on it really is quite impressive what bungie has done and this is easily one of the overall prettiest games to grace any console.

The sound design is nothing short of incredible. There is so much variety in ambient noise and weapon effects it puts even Halo 3 to shame. The score is once again a masterpiece that is far and above better than any other games out there. If there is one thing Bungie does better than anyone else its audio and Halo Reach is a shining example.

The campaign in Reach is arguably the best in the series. Its about 10 hours on normal difficulty and it has the same options as Halo 3 in terms of the scoring system, coop etc. The new armor abilities open up a range of new tactical options and the semi non linear action zones in the maps only add to the fun. If you have played and enjoyed a Halo game you know what to expect. Of course it feels like Halo, if it didnt then it wouldnt be the series so many love. If you arent a fan of past games chances are you wont be a fan of this one. There are a number of changes to weapons and there have been tweaks to gameplay so you should give it a chance but dont expect it to feel like a new series. They tweaked things like running speed, jump height, fall damage etc and the AI has been made far more complex and far more cunning. For example I was having an issue killing a grunt, he kept running away and hiding behind cover. He was slowly leading me down a hallway with lots of corners, I figured he was just being a classic grunt and running away only stopping every once and a while to shoot or toss a grenade. Little did I know he was playing me for the fool..he lead me directly into an ambush where I was quickly killed by a combination of 5 elites and some jackals. This was on normal difficulty. The AI gets much more difficult with a host of new tactics when you play on Legendary.

The mutliplayer in Reach is nothing short of amazing. Once again Bungie has designed some of the best maps on any platform. They are all perfectly balanced with multiple gametypes. If you like competitive shooters its pretty much a given that you will find some fun in Halo online. Bungie has added unlocks via credits earned from matches. Thankfully (imo) they didnt go the call of duty route where perks make you more powerful. In Reach you unlock visual upgrades that give you a unique look and nothing more. I think its better this way. It gives you something to earn and play for but it doesnt unbalance the game. I never liked how COD would reward higher skill players by making them more powerful.

I meant for this to be a quick first review but I have failed. Some how my thoughts may seem disjointed and im jumping around. This is due to lack of sleep since I cant stop playing Reach any chance I get which means im up incredibly late to play and I wake up super early for work. You owe it to yourself, no matter what console you prefer or own to at the very least try everything this game has to offer. Its an enjoyable experience single player and multiplayer and thats not even including the awesome forge mode and firefight.

Over all, I enjoy this game ALOT! graphics, online multiplayer, and all those other things.

The campaign however is somewhat lacking the theatrical feeling you get when you play story-mode on other games but it is indeed action packed and the story was impressive. The online is is excellent like always. Sometimes it's pure mayhem and other times simple and intense. I personally enjoy how the had the return of the Halo 1 Pistol and the Elites vs Spartans game.

Firefight has improved since Halo ODST; it's customizable as in adjust was and what aliens come after you and it's also a matchmaking playlist online as well.

Forge seems appealing to me but I spent MOST of my Halo Reach time matchmaking and completing daily challenges. I know you can get even MORE creative in Halo 3 since they made it more convenient as in you can making Objects float instead of doing some weird $%&@.

In visuals they improve pretty much EVERY little thing since Halo 3, the armor look more realistic, environments, even the helmet looks better.
    I give it a 9/10

Best Halo game to ever be released! I thought nothing could trump Halo 1: Combat Evolve, but boy was I wrong. Congrats Bungie for exceeding my expectations once again!

Each Spartan on your team has a fully fleshed out personality and you will come to enjoy their company and find a real connection with all of them. The story spans 10 levels each broken in to 3 sections the entire story lasting around 10 hours on the Normal setting a tad longer on Heroic and Legendary. Be warned the difficulty settings are a fair bit harder than previous games due to some much more fearsome A.I making this a true fight to the finish no matter what the difficulty. After it is discovered that the Covenant are on Reach the home of the Spartan production facility Noble team is sent on a one way mission to find out why the Covenant have begun attacking Reach. What follows is a gripping, emotional and brilliantly told story that will see you as Noble 6 taking on some of the best missions the Halo series has ever given us. As your team mates get picked off and your team whittles away it becomes ever more present that you will not live to tell the tale but at least this game lets you go out swinging, hang around after the credits to see what we mean. New armour abilities change the gameplay alot including a sprint, armour lock which makes you invincible for a short time and even a jet pack. There are several of these to choose from and the levels make for some great opportunities to try something new every time you play. The online has been given a complete over haul and a more fleshed out ranking system. Customisation is a major part of both the online and offline experience as you earn experience in all forms of the game and in fact earn more whilst online. Improved gun models and several new weapons make their debut in Reach. Also the environments are massive in comparison to other Halo titles as Reach takes on a more sandbox feel giving you a few ways to approach each level. 1 million polygons per character model, thatâ Expand

I give this game an 8 out of 10. Halo Reach isn't very different single player wise than its predecessors. You just point and shoot your way through the campaign, but honestly it's fun. There are a lot of different weapons and some old ones taken out which will undoubtedly piss some hardcore fans off, but really they had to do that. If they didn't it would have been the same exact game asI give this game an 8 out of 10. Halo Reach isn't very different single player wise than its predecessors. If they didn't it would have been the same exact game as the others at the core. Halo: Reach's online is a lot different than 3s. The Reach online is fun don,t get me wrong but the level up system is ubelievably stupid. You rank up by credits and it doesn't matter if you win or lose. If you get in 8th place in every match you will still become the highest rank it will just take you longer. 3 you actually had to win matches to rank up. I've played all Halo's but i hated the first two. If you are a die hard Halo fan you probably won't like the changes they made. but If you're just looking to shoot around and have some fun than it will deliver. Expand

More of the same. The visual quality is on par with Halo 3, the game play is on par with Halo 3, the campaign is a bit less than Halo 3, how ever if you are into the Haloverse story, then you won't care as it is a prequel to help explain some things. Multi-player is basically Halo 3 with jet packs.

In short, Halo 3. It's not bad, but it doesn't really feel new.

This is the perfect Halo game. The campaign is dark and fantastic, multiplayer is as addicting as ever, and custom games and forge mode will keep creative gamers busy for months.

Halo Reach is the peak of the Halo Franchise, which itself is the best any gaming console has to offer. With new classes and weapons, a thrilling campaign and the same great multiplayer, Halo Reach deserves an 11 out of 10.

I think that Halo reach deserves a 6 because, although the graphics are fantastic compared to Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST, I think the story is a bit dull. The ability to explore huge maps within the campain like on the mission "winter contingency" is great, but I prefer to get straight to the fight, rather than get lost in the map. I agree that it is a must buy, and is a challenging game on heroic, but I found that unless you pay a lot of attention to what their saying, I kind of forgot and it's easy to lose track of things.
So when I played it later I listened closely, but in doing that I was paying attention and wasn't affected by the fighting part of the game. I just waited for someone to say something, getting me killed at some stage.
Multiplayer and forge are very impressive, with the ability to bond parts in forge (which I think most of the Halo 3 fans have had to do the hard way for 3 years!) it has become easier than ever before, but if there was one thing negative I had to say about forge is that it's nowhere near as fun as Halo 3. Yes, you can now build almost anything imaginable with the best Halo graphics ever, but the only map that you can do that on is a little bit too big and too many open areas. Halo 3 maps like "Sandbox" and "Standoff" were what I think were the best that maps could get, they were just the right size and had cliffs as death barriers resulting in the most epic multiplayer matches.
If you haven't bought Reach yet then look forward to:
    Graphics
    Multiplayer (If with XBOX Live)
    Characters
Overall I think that Halo Reach is a brilliant game that has had a lot of time put into it and the story is fantastic but it's just not fun. With Halo 3, I always go back to my favorite missions and maps, but with Reach I completed it, went on forge, and then played it a week later, unlike Halo 3 when it was played every day of the week in my spare time. And thats why I gave it a 6. But it still is a must buy.

If you loved all the other Halo games, there's little I can say to dissuade you from purchasing Bungie's last creation in the Halo series.

Halo: Reach is not a breakthrough, yet it's a clear showcase of Bungie's creative growth. The game is hardly a "must buy" – its single-player campaign is way too short and uneven in quality, while multiplayer has very little room for expansion besides map packs and useless character decorations. But with that said, Reach is worthy of your attention for a couple of evenings.
