    If you're planning to play Gears of War 3's multiplayer (which you totally should it's awesome) then this is a must. No seriously it is required that you download this in order to find any matches at all. It's free so that's not the issue. The issue is that even when you download this you still can't play on dedicated servers, and that 3 out of the 5 maps here aren't available.

    I think the reason for this is that the three in question were made available in the "Horde Command Pack," but only for private matches. This DLC just unlocks them for public play. Whether that's right or not I don't know. What I do know is that the only maps I was/am able to play on were "Clock Tower" and Bullet Marsh."

    Still only having two maps still makes for some more variety. However it's just irritating that you have to buy another map pack in order to access the majority of content in this "free" one. That's really the problem I have with Gears of War 3 as a whole. I mean heck, I still have to buy the other map packs if I want to play on dedicated servers! Oh well, at least this map pack is free and will give you access to some host servers. It's just a shame so much of it is locked off.    … Expand
