    Welcome to the world of Telltale games, a universe where any gamer involved plays a linear video until completion. As a game offers most the same options of what would be expected on a recording, pause, stop, fast forward, and rewind. Similarly will sell you this product in premium installments, because had we had the option to fully obtained we likely would cancel.

    As any game with the above description best avoided altogether, unless of course assuming that your one of those "gamers" who would rather watch their games puttie-pie.

    There is always the illusion that as gamers we are given some sense of control. Through any dialogue offered, items used, decisions made, those choices will lead to different outcomes, multiple endings, drastically affecting any game experience outside of the offered video. Nonsense. The Telltale model has been the same on all their games. Play one play them all, why is this one any different sucker, you keep on paying them, for these video's to be watched in premium.

    I largely don't care about the story, all games are a form of fantasy. I rarely care about characters, one pixel is as good as the next. I do not empathize because I love my shoot'em'ups and that is the reality of a game which has me respawn. Although I care about the game. How an aesthetically pleasing universe offered, gives me a chance to explore through my game play its creation, making me to consider playing time and time again. Not because I have gone through all the motions of listening to endless animation to complete an easy video, where by bashing those buttons has, little, to no effect. That the majority of game time has me not actually gaming, at anything, either a load screen, animation, or dialogue.    … Expand

    I don't.. I don't understand how people enjoyed this iteration from Telltale. I'm a huge fan of The Wolf Among Us and the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands.

    This game was awful. The writing and pace of this story was horribly slow and only barely managed to pick up just before the credits rolled. The art style is very pixelated which I wasn't a fan of and you spend the entire    I don't.. I don't understand how people enjoyed this iteration from Telltale. The art style is very pixelated which I wasn't a fan of and you spend the entire game playing a coward apprentice, a small child, and a selfish, entitled young girl.

    The young boy had easily the most interesting part in the story, which isn't saying much. The game was full of horrible dialogue and overly dramatic facial animations (mainly frowns) and unnecessarily drawn out conversations.

    I played this, along with two of my friends, one being a female.. All three of us were disappointed and thought it was incredibly boring and weak-written.

    And yet it's getting praise from just about every media outlet and gaming forum. Normally I consider myself to be with the majority, as far as game opinion is concerned, but I don't understand why everyone is going so crazy over this game.

    It is easily the weakest of all the Telltale games available currently. Even though it was only a first episode, it doesn't even compare to the blowout that was the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands and I'm not even a fan of the Borderlands universe. Yet both games are getting 8/10's as if on the same level.    … Expand

    I thought that by the final chapter you'd have a chance to come out ahead somehow. But nope, the final chapter is just a set up for the sequel. There is no closure of a single thread of the story line.

    I think one reviewer really nailed it when he said: "don't play this game unless you like getting punched in the face repeatedly."    … Expand
