I thought that Fallout 3 was an amazing game, but I didnt really like the Pitt. The plot was about saving the slaves, and there really werent any special parts in the game.I thought that the plot was fine, but nothing great. You really dont get any good weapons from the Pitt, and this DLC is also pretty easy. But I liked that you were able to explore the Pitt freely.I thought that the PittI thought that Fallout 3 was an amazing game, but I didnt really like the Pitt. The plot was about saving the slaves, and there really werent any special parts in the game.I thought that the plot was fine, but nothing great. You really dont get any good weapons from the Pitt, and this DLC is also pretty easy. But I liked that you were able to explore the Pitt freely.I thought that the Pitt werent as good as Operation Anchorage was, but it was still fine. The third dlc I have played out of five in Fallout 3. This was an okay dlc that had a good story line and the first dlc that I have played that you can wander freely around. But the weapons are not very good in this dlc and was way too short. But after you complete the story you can go out looking for 100 steel ingots which is very annoying to find them all. Wow this promised so much but failed to really deliver. I'd rate it below Bethesdas previous DLC works Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. When (spoiler) confronting Ashur I wanted to go for the good guy option but couldn't believe that I'd got to the end already so didn't choose to kill him. So very dissapointed with Bethesda on this side quest. I can count the "Walk here and talk to this person" goals needed to complete this 45 minute side story. Aside from having to kill 3 people in arena, the gameplay is almost non-existent. What a waste of time and an embarrassing addition to what I consider one of the best, if not THE best, games I have ever played in 28 years.

Ok, so i am a huge fallout 3 fan - but I really didn't enjoy the pitt that much. There were some cool "holy crap, i have to do what!" moments, but other than that, i found the quest line rather flat. My biggest peeve was definitely the level design: It was very confusing to get around the world, and I had many headaches tracking down quest markers on the blasted mini-map (I never did Ok, so i am a huge fallout 3 fan - but I really didn't enjoy the pitt that much. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't purchase this. If it was 400 Points, then I'd say it's a great deal, but I had way more fun in the Capital Wastland, and can't really justify the 800 points... those would be better spend on some awesome arcade games. I found The Pitt to be a lot of fun personally. The only real problem I have is that once you're done with the main quest, all there really is to do is go collect steel bars which isn't that fun to do. But the main quest itself is great, and that's enough to make The Pitt worth your time.

Rather lacking in side quests, and quite linear, The Pitt is lukewarm but not terrible. It's not good or bad, the story is interesting but not compelling, and the loot is useful but not a game-changer. The ammo press is extremely useful however, almost to the point of making it alone reason to play through The Pitt.

  1. The quality experience in The Pitt makes Operation Anchorage feel like even more of a misstep than it might really have been. Both offer some interesting additions to the main game and definitely provide additional play value in different ways. The Pitt is certainly the superior of the two in most regards. Get over the fact it was initially launched as a broken mess, this is one expansion Fallout 3 fans will truly appreciate.
  2. There are still nagging programming problems but for the most part, the Pitt does a lot better job at continuing the Fallout 3 experience. I enjoyed the DLC a lot more than the first one and it's nice to see a new and different environment in the game.
  3. The Pitt undoubtedly provides far more value for money than its predecessor, with around four solid hours of entertainment for the first run-through, and probably at least double that if you feel motivated to explore the quest from all the intriguing angles it throws up.
