As long as you go in expecting an audio-visual feast that's good for killing some time, and not a deep shooter, you won't leave disappointed.
-
A stunning visual and audio representation that offers a unique style of gameplay.
-
A game that excites sections of the mind that other games leave untouched. For many, it will also sit on the edge of acceptable levels of initial confusion. The game is almost too unique and trippy for its own good, if that is even possible.
-
E4 demands the player understand and embrace the symbiotic relationship between music, light and gameplay, if they wish to enjoy the title. For those players that reach this state of mind, E4 is probably one of the best experiential titles you can get in this genre.
-
E4 is really one of those XBLA-defining titles in that it represents a profoundly divergent experience but still has that pick up and play feel to it that people (want to?) associate with a Live title.
-
Every Extend Extra Extreme shows that big things do indeed come in small packages. While its core gameplay may not appeal to everyone, this is definitely one of the best values you’ll find on the Xbox Live Arcade.
-
It's just offbeat enough to earn its indie label, and once you get going, it really is next to impossible to put it down.
-
E4 is way more fun than last year’s E3. We know that’s not a major feat, but it still should give some kind of indication of what Q Entertainment brought to the table in their sophomoric effort
-
Even with its limited count of four main levels and a couple of secondary modes, expect Every Extend Extra Extreme to scoop up a great deal of time whenever it is played.
-
Every Extend Extra Extreme is a colorful and noisy waste of time. And I mean that in a very good way.
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKA harmonious blend of light, sound and vibration that even "Space Giraffe" can only dream of. [Christmas 2007, p.98]
-
If you never bothered with the PSP games, the improvements in this radically redesigned Xbox Live Arcade version warrant further inspection on the strength of the speedy gameplay and customizable music analyzer. Although it looks like a tech demo on the surface, what lies beneath is an altogether meatier experience.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKA lot of thought as well as another E has gone into Q Entertainment's latest release. [Issue 27, p.117]
-
Despite its relative simplicity, there's something pretty compelling about the gameplay. Regardless, what really makes E4 so entrancing is the presentation, which looks and sounds like a space rave that exploded in your Xbox 360.
-
Fans of Tetsuya Mizguchi’s previous works such as Rez and Lumines really need to check this out, as should anyone else on the lookout for an addictive puzzle game or shoot ‘em up.
-
If rhythm and trippy visuals are your thing then you'll find this bazaar shooter worthwhile.
-
A cool game, and a gorgeous showpiece for Xbox Live Arcade, holding up well with the likes of other trippy titles like Geometry Wars and Space Giraffe. But the repetitive gameplay doesn’t really hold up like it should. And the game’s crazy presentation will only take most gamers so far.
-
AceGamezThe impressive merger of music with gameplay and sound effects is worth at least experiencing once - it certainly isn't for everybody, but you'd be surprised at how addictive it can be to see all those little pieces blow up just by pushing A... and perhaps that is E4's strongest appeal.
-
Official Xbox MagazineE4's only major flaw is that it can get WAY repetitive. [Holiday 2007, p.70]
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKToo easy to satisfy but enjoyable all the same. [Christmas 2007, p.107]
-
The player is barely involved in the game at all, which effectively makes it little more than a snazzy light show.
-
Every Extend Extra Extreme is a visually striking and addictive game, but one that won’t appeal to everyone.
-
And if the shield was gone and the enemies were fewer, and more varied, it could have been a lot like an actual videogame, with a difficulty curve, rather than a bewildering ascent up a six-foot cliff onto an endless plateau of tedium.
