The game’s poorly ported control scheme makes the rich flavor of the original game taste more like day-old leftovers instead of a gourmet gaming treat.
-
Diner Dash is a classic title and a great addition to XBox Live Arcade.
-
The price tag is definitely worth it though if you are like me and have not been oversaturated in the genre.
-
Official Xbox MagazineIt's a decent port to 360 with some key changes to the controls to make it work better on a console, but this recipe of Diner Dash lacks some spice. [July 2009, p.77]
-
The game is fun enough at its core to have made it very popular with the PC casual gamer crowd, but as an Xbox Live Arcade title it just falls short.
-
It makes good sense as a PC downloadable, where the interface and audience align, but here? Not so much.
-
What makes for a perfect casual PC game doesn't necessarily translate well to the living room. This is a six-year old game that millions of people have already played, so it's not the most exciting XBLA release. The visuals are also pretty bland and the controls can be finicky.
