    But for kid-focused entertainment and the knowledge that a movie-based game is actually well executed, it's hard to top these meatballs.

    This is the kind of game perfectly suited for kids. The graphics are big and bright, the levels are straightforward enough that there's never a situation where they'll get lost, and the co-op play means there's no shouting about "It's my turn!" as they clean-up the town with Cuisinart-esque implements, which are a lot of fun to use according my kids.

    Ubisoft have done almost everything right with Cloudy. It’s not a game that re-invents the genre by any means, but it’s an enjoyable romp that never overstays its welcome.

Unfortunately however, unlike toy story 3, the movie to game adaptation was stereotypical offering nothing new to the kids genre. This game is overly repetitive and offers no replay value. I found some of the puzzles and platforming to be fun, and earning the various achievements to also be fun, but overall the game is too tedious, boring and lackluster. There is little longevity here. Some of the graphics look ok at times but it looks like a 6th generation game at some points. Overall give it a miss, that is if you can even find it (really rare).… Full Review »

    Firstly, I think it is important to remember exactly what Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is - essentially, it is a game for kids. ThatFirstly, I think it is important to remember exactly what Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is - essentially, it is a game for kids. That being said, I know many adults (myself included) who have picked this game up and have had great fun with it. While the base 'jest' of the game isn't all that difficult (meaning the age range it is targeted at could complete it with little fuss) the collectibles and some of the achievements may take a bit of getting used to. This means that, while originally designed for kids to play, adults can find some reason to love this game as well. The level design is great, and the soundtrack, given that it is a kid's name, is by and far one of the best I've heard on a game of this sort in a very long time. More importantly however, this game holds a lot of nostalgia value. At it's core, Cloudy... is a platformer with some fighting built in. This means for many of us oldies who choose to pick it up, you will see some nostalgia in the way the game plays. It just does what it does best, and plenty of it. Those expecting to find the next Battlefield are (obviously, people) going to be disappointed, but those who are willing to take Cloudy... for what it is, and let their childish side come out for a couple of hours, will find plenty to love in this game. I give it a 7/10 because, while not being the most amazing game I've ever played, it would certainly blow my mind if I was 5 or 6 again. The game does it's target audience proud and for that it deserves a high praise. [Also, PLEASE NOTE that I played through this game having never seen the actual film. This didn't impede my ability to enjoy the game however, and should be viewed as a strength, not a disadvantage. Far too many games aimed at children leave massive plotholes unless you've seen the film, so kudos to Cloudy... for not falling into this habit.]… Full Review »
