A very good movie tie in game, but could do with more length and a tutorial.
-
The fun 8-bit plot scenes and gadget based levels offer kids plenty of fun gameplay, and the option of co-op play and collection quests make this an easy choice for older kids to really get into. However, the short gameplay time and repetitive vocal and graphical elements of the title make it a bit hard to recommend at a $50 price point.
-
A great attempt at enhancing the movie experience through the medium of video games. Whilst the game’s story mode is fairly short-lived and the lack of additional gameplay is a key factor in the game’s downfall, it is definitely a title that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
-
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a suitable but somewhat bland side dish to be served alongside the movie. It’s a simple children’s game that momentarily distracts and only partially entertains.
-
Official Xbox MagazineA pleasant, solidly entertaining, and kid-friendly option. [Dec 2009, p.77]
-
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is a decent kids game, with a simple but nice graphics that reminds the movie and a pleasant and simple platform-style gameplay.
-
Cloudy isn't a horrible or even bad movie game, it just feels limited and sorely lacking the same imagination that made the movie so wonderful.
-
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, whilst having a ridiculous name, sadly falls into the pile of games best avoided (achievement junkies look in your bargain bin!).
