    This is the one of the best games I've played on the Xbox. Also, this is the best version since it includes all 4 Map packs on a seperate disc so you could even let your friend borrow it and install the DLC. Definitely get this!

    Very few cons: there is no radar on the screen, you have to switch to a map (They fixed this in the new part 2 coming out)...the cheaters online are annoying with    This is the one of the best games I've played on the Xbox.     This version of Borderlands is for those who have Xbox Live, who do not have the DLC, and want a great value. I got the GOTY edition for $40.00, and it came with all four DLC packs, the game (of course), a poster and map, and a Duke Nukem early access code. Complaining about having tokens nstead of a disc is like complaining that Castle Crashers didn't come as a disc.

    This is by far the best version of borderlands to get if you buy the version with the 2nd disc instead of download codes. I spent £15 on this brand new which is cheaper than downloading the 4 packs on xbox live plus you obviously get the game disc. I have also installed this content on the consoles of 3 friends which just adds more value to it as we can now all play together.This is by far the best version of borderlands to get if you buy the version with the 2nd disc instead of download codes.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Warning!! Do not get Borderlands GOTY. So I go into my local game store yesterday all hyped about the goty. I'm about to buy the game and the cashier tells my that all the previous dlc is NOT on an ad on disk. It's tokens with codes to download the dlc's!! Well I already have all the dlc, but I wanted a disk version as back-up. So all I did was buy the new GOTY book. Then I thought what about people with no internet. Maybe they could download at a friends, but once they got home they couldn't sign in and their profile wouldn't show up, hence not allowing them access to the dlc. Additionally what happens if you want to trade in your copy at a game store? Can the store resell the copy when the codes have been used up? I think that 2k really screwed things up with this method. You may as well keep the original Borderlands and and any dlc you already have as there is no hard copy. Unless of course you really want the Duke Nukem demo.

    P.S. The Goty book is pretty cool. Not only does it obviously have new info, but a fun map of Pandora, and some cool concept art.    … Expand

    Although we all know that borderlands is the best game ever, the game of the year edition is a waste of time just dowload the DLC yourself, its on codes as well *sigh*...

    To be honest, I kind of ignored this game until 2011. But after hearing all the positive hype and seeing a few gameplay videos I got curious. I was pleasantly surprised. A FPS that was also an RPG. The main game is a bit on the short side, but the DLC does make up for that adding some fresh new locations to keep your interest going . The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was visually a nice changeTo be honest, I kind of ignored this game until 2011. But after hearing all the positive hype and seeing a few gameplay videos I got curious. I was pleasantly surprised. A FPS that was also an RPG. The main game is a bit on the short side, but the DLC does make up for that adding some fresh new locations to keep your interest going . The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was visually a nice change of pace and zombiw hunting was kind of fun, but did get a tad repetitive. Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot was a great idea but I did feel that it was just meant as an extra challenge for those who already finished everything else. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx was absolutely fantastic adding some great new characters and a behemoth of a secret boss to the enemies list. Claptrap's New Robot Revolution also had a great back story and adding a bit more of a humorous twist to the central story, BUT, it also felt a bit more like a glorified scavenger hunt that added very little new to the game and combat. Overall: A bit disappointing that the GOTY edition DLC content is not on a disc, but even so, a great collection none the less.… Expand

    If your thinking about buying Borderlands this is the version to get, it includes the main game and all 4 of the DLC (to learn more abut the main game and all of the DLC read my individual reviews for them), it's worth the money and the only reason I'm not giving this a perfect 10 is because of the fact that one of the DLC Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot isn't a good DLC, and that if your notIf your thinking about buying Borderlands this is the version to get, it includes the main game and all 4 of the DLC (to learn more abut the main game and all of the DLC read my individual reviews for them), it's worth the money and the only reason I'm not giving this a perfect 10 is because of the fact that one of the DLC Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot isn't a good DLC, and that if your not connected to Xbox live there is a chance that you may not be able to download the DLC do to the fact that there are version of this package out there, one that gives you a second disc with the DLC on it, and one that gives you codes to download them off Xbox Live, so if your not on Xbox Live be sure to make sure that you have the version with the second disc, but if your planning to buy this game this is the version to get.… Expand

    This game got boring very quickly. It starts with an interesting introduction but after that, throughout the whole game, the storyline is completely lost. Borderlands has one of the thinnest storylines I have encountered in an FPS. Even Codemaster's Bodycount has more depth. Your characters likewise have no personality. The gameplay is very repetitive as all the enemies and maps areThis game got boring very quickly. There are only two types of missions in the game, you kill bosses and collect items. That is all you do for 20 hours. So this game is truly all about shooting things, not storylines, not characters. This is an old-school arcade like FPS, which are great as 10 hour games, but for an FPS this long and this repetitive you need a well-developed storyline and characters, which Borderlands does not have. If you like doing the exact same thing over and over in a 20+ hour FPS then by all means buy this game, but if you are looking for something truly unique and interesting look elsewhere. Borderlands is a mediocre FPS at best.… Expand
