I have been playing "Mount and Blade" on my good ol' Mac for about one month and having great fun so neglectful is the best word I have for my XBOX360 playing time. I didn't even remember this game was coming out this month because I'm old and have real life to recon with, but being an OG (original gamer) I have to make the trip into Game-Stop at least once every couple of months, so II have been playing "Mount and Blade" on my good ol' Mac for about one month and having great fun so neglectful is the best word I have for my XBOX360 playing time. I went ahead and prepaid for the Deluxe Edition and awaited its arrival.
Here is my 38 years of gaming exp opinion:
GRAPHICS-I think it looks pretty darn good. I am playing on a 50" plasma with HDMI so you can see the blemishes on faces and that's pretty cool. The level of detail is as good as ever for a 10 year old machine.
GAME PLAY-Now this is NOT a Battlefield clone when playing single player. It has the same mechanics of it is predecessor, but the episodic nature and its tone are a whole new game entirely.
SINGLE PLAYER-This is the most fun I have had playing a BF campaign since ever.
MULTI - " "-It shines really good, I have never been disappointed, but hardcore fan boys of BF4 are gonna be pissed off(see below reviews).
I applaud EA for being fresh and breaking out of the "rinse and repeat" feel of the war game genre! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BF...since the beginning I have championed the series but change is good for everyone. and anyone that complains of drops, stutters in the frame rate either have a crappy ISP or trying to use a Sat/Router connection.
Complaining about the graphics? Well you have to remember that when I first started on consoles like the 2600, a black box with a short line coming out of one side constituted a Tank. I believe only juvenile players would take issue with the graphics.
BOTTOM LINE- If you want to have the look, play and feel of BF4 then this game is not for you. This does not feel like a DLC for BF4 at all! I would take anyone who claims this as an idiot Call of Duty fan boy. This game is enjoyable, challenging, and can be just as addictive as BFs before it. Yes, there are a lot of changes, it plays like a TV show and now its Cops and Robbers but it still fun as ever. So if your a War Game BF4 lover, or a teenybopper be safe and rent it first so your not like the goofs who whine about spending $60 bucks on this "terrible game". If you love the BF series and are not afraid of change I think you will find this game will be a pleasant surprise.… Expand
