It will likely spend more time on your shelf than in your Wii, but this is one of the better mini-game titles. However, only consider it if you need a new remote.

A few average games, a terribly broken one thankfully do not kill this, with Wii Play: Motion still well worth a look, and is definitely miles better than the original Wii Play.

Wii Play: Motion includes a few boring and bad minigames and doesn't have a Party mode. Most of the games, however, can be pretty fun and work great with the included controller. It's a great extra for anyone that is looking for a Wii Motion Plus controller.
  5. Many more hits than misses. Only a must if you need another controller, though. [July 2011, p.94]

The twelve minigames are, on average, really good; if you need a Wiimote Plus and you can play this game in multiplayer, buy it. Otherwise, just leave it on the shelves.

Wii Play Motion is another compilation of minigames than can demonstrate how the new Wiimote Plus works and it shows its ability putting it in the hands of four players. 12 mini-games, levels of difficulty and a perfect gift for a casual party.

Nintendo designers are still capable of making creative and funny minigames. Not all minis in Wii Play: Motion is of this kind unfortunately. [Issue#207]

Wii Play Motion is a more diverse game that surprises in a number of games. With the attraction of the game be sold in conjunction with a controller, it will be an option to consider for those who need an extra family games.

If you're in dire need of a new Remote, at least now you get to try and skim a stone over an island for a few quid extra. It's totally worth it. [Issue#112, p.118]

The 12 titles on offer in Wii Play Motion surpass their predecessor in creativity but are just as mediocre in their simplicity and limitedness.

Considering that the game is sold in bundle with a Wiimote Plus, Wii Play Motion might catch the attention of all those who haven't yet had a chance to get the "new" controller, but if you're not among them the mini-games on offer will hardly arouse any of your interest.

Whether you're playing alone or with others, Wii Play Motion is nowhere near as fun as Wii Sports Resort, as the mini-games are too simple, too few and over too quickly. If you're looking for multiplayer entertainment, there are better and cheaper games to spend your money on.

Buy the game for the controller, but be prepared to trade it in that same day since that's all it will take for you to grow tired of it.

Though the game lacks depth, it is, however, a good introduction to the controller and a decent party game for kids. For those who already have their fair share of Wii Remotes, Wii Play: Motion isn't worth paying for.

As a full price game it'd be a ridiculous con, but if you really must have a Wii Remote Plus then £5 for some half decent mini-games isn't the worst deal on the Wii.

There are some decent games here, in other words, but not enough to make this something you simply have to try. As for the Wii, it's on towards Zelda - and beyond that lies sunset.

Greater variety and depth don't save this second round of motion minigames from the bargain bin.

A tricky one to judge. The included Wiimote Plus is nice, the mini games are mediocre.

Wii Play Motion is very much alike its predecessor as it is totally different. Since Wii was brand new the last time and since a much-wanted extra wiimote was included, sales went through the roof. This will not happen this time, as the wiimote plus is not that much of a difference and since Wii has already seen its heydays a few years ago.

Still haven't got a Wii-mote Plus or a Wii-mote Plus accessory? Then the Wii Play Motion might just be interesting for you. For fifty Euros, you'll get the controller including twelve mini-games of fluctuating quality. That's all one should expect from it.

This game is hardly attractive, except for minigame compilations fans. It includes a Wii Remote Plus control as its main incentive, but the game doesn't make the most of its potential, and this is its main failure.

Unfortunately, Wii Play: Motion does not even entirely deliver in that department. Noticed a few annoying glitches while playing 3 or 4 games out of the 12 included. Having played all Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and it's younger brother, Wii Play, I can say without a doubt that this sequel is the weakest of all four. I got a "been there, done that" feeling when playing the first time and none of the games made me want to come back for more. Despite the fact that you'll probably get bored of solo play within the first hour of gaming, if you can find a group of friends to play along, there's still a good amount of fun you can get with this bundle. In a nutshell, buy this bundle for the remote, not the game and enjoy whatever fun it gives you but don't expect to be amazed this time around. Full Review »

Even if the Motion controls don't make this game better, there are 4 new modes for the ones who like this game, like me.
