Dec 15, 2010All up, while Tetris itself isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, there are enough other new gameplay variations, as well as multiplayer modes, to make this a solid addition to any gamer's collection – and a must-have for puzzle fans.
-
This is a great incarnation of the classic puzzle game, but also a lost opportunity to introduce new features.
-
High Tetris quality at a high entry price that ultimately comes down to disk versus digital.
-
TPD is essentially the retail boxed version of Tetris Party that is on the WiiWare store. This is a must get if access to the cheaper downloadable file is out of the question.
-
Tetris Party Deluxe successfully refreshes the 25 years old gameplay of the original game from Alexey Pajitnov, introducing new modes that will surely be able to entertain you for a long time.
-
Tetris Party Deluxe keeps a decades-old formula fresh with new mechanics and strong competitive multiplayer.
-
Tetris Party Deluxe is still a great, full-featured game of Tetris but if you already own the downloadable version (and you should) you've already got your bases covered.
-
But if your Wii is connected to the internet, you are probably better off downloading Tetris Party for less than half the price - it is basically the same game found on this disc based version.
-
A simple formula with some new mechanics. Tetris Party Deluxe is still a great and funny game.
-
Quotation forthcoming.
-
If you have downloaded Tetris Party already, skip Party Deluxe. It is an updated WiiWare-game that does not differ very much from its predecessor. However, if you are desperately looking for new Tetris challenges, alone or with friends, and you did not download the original, you will be entertained by this game.
-
Tetris is back again for the Nintendo Wii. This is the retail version of Tetris Party, available on the WiiWare channel since 2008. The game itself is cool, but compared to the downlodable version the price is slightly too high to be justified.
-
The king of puzzlers has rarely had more options but the lacklustre presentation and whiff of exploitation leaves a slightly sour taste.
-
A bit of a let-down and miles from the still superior Game Boy version.
-
Fun and interesting, Tetris Party Deluxe offers nothing more than some new gameplay modes and the same issues from every game of the franchise. A good game despite its flaws.
-
Tetris Party Deluxe is an extended Tetris Party retail version. Some new modes and a hardcopy of the game aren't enough to justify the price.
-
The game's fun and all, but, to be honest, there are simply easier to get versions of the product for cheaper, and the changes don't make it worth the trip to the store for the game disc.
-
More than twice the price, less than twice the features: do the math.
-
So is this the definitive version of Tetris for the current console generation? Sure. But is it so much better than the WiiWare release so as to warrant another, way more expensive, purchase? I'm going to say no.
