  1. Tetris Party Deluxe is an extended Tetris Party retail version. Some new modes and a hardcopy of the game aren't enough to justify the price.

All up, while Tetris itself isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, there are enough other new gameplay variations, as well as multiplayer modes, to make this a solid addition to any gamer's collection – and a must-have for puzzle fans.

High Tetris quality at a high entry price that ultimately comes down to disk versus digital.
  4. Tetris Party Deluxe keeps a decades-old formula fresh with new mechanics and strong competitive multiplayer.
  5. A simple formula with some new mechanics. Tetris Party Deluxe is still a great and funny game.
  6. The king of puzzlers has rarely had more options but the lacklustre presentation and whiff of exploitation leaves a slightly sour taste.
  7. So is this the definitive version of Tetris for the current console generation? Sure. But is it so much better than the WiiWare release so as to warrant another, way more expensive, purchase? I'm going to say no.
  8. If you have downloaded Tetris Party already, skip Party Deluxe. It is an updated WiiWare-game that does not differ very much from its predecessor. However, if you are desperately looking for new Tetris challenges, alone or with friends, and you did not download the original, you will be entertained by this game.
  9. A bit of a let-down and miles from the still superior Game Boy version.

ThisAt its time of release, this was just a small upgrade to the original - now that WiiWare is a dead platform, this is the Tetris to get. This is the one I grew up on, and there's good reason why I look at it highly today - it's got loads of modes for every skill level, and controls perfectly despite the awkward nature of a sideways wiimote.
