    Super Mario Galaxy is probably one of the best video games ever made. It has good graphics (for its time), great controls and great gameplay. The only problem is the lack of a proper co-op mode. Overall, Super Mario Galaxy is a must-buy for anyone who has a Wii, and this game is worth buying one.

    Super mario galaxy brings everything I want in a video game into one amazing installment. Gorgeous levels, breathtaking soundtrack and fun power ups makes this and its sequel the pinnacle of 3D platforming. Of course the game starts with princess peach being kidnapped so bowser and her can rule the cosmos. The levels mario faces are some of the best in any game to date. from the beauty of gusty garden to the whimsical feel of toy time galaxy, every level is almost perfect.     Although I gave it a 9 it's more a 9.5/10, can't do that in Metacritic. This game is one of the best on the Wii and one of the best of last gen, my only criticism are the manta ray levels and having to play ALL the game again as Luigi to beat it 100%, aside from that this is an amazing game. Must buy.

    Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite game of all time and space (pun intended). So why do I only give it a 9? Unfortunately, the game has bad swimming/flying controls, and it occasionally crashed on me. Nonetheless, if you are looking for an unforgettable adventure, this is the game for you. The atmosphere, level design, graphics, and soundtrack are fantastic to the point that if you have notSuper Mario Galaxy is my favorite game of all time and space (pun intended).     We did not finish this game, but my wife and I had a remarkable time playing it. We did something so strange one night when we were inebriated, we decided to start this game and play it each holding one of the Wii controllers. We were newly married at the time and it was so fun to experience this game and its challenges with an unintended level of co-operative challenge.     STORY: Super Mario Galaxy starts with Peach sending a letter to Mario, telling him to come to the castle, and Mario then going to the castle.     STORY: Super Mario Galaxy starts with Peach sending a letter to Mario, telling him to come to the castle, and Mario then going to the castle. Apparently in the mushroom kingdom they're celebrating the Star Festival, which happens 100 years betwen the newest and the oldest.

    Well the celebration doesn't last for long, since Bowser comes out of nowhere and kidnaps the Prince's, but not in the traditional way, ooooh no instead he calls a giant U.F.O, destroys the terrain around the castle and brings it to space. Mario tries to go rescue, but namek, the evil koopa wizard, shoots Mario with his Magic projectile and sends him into outer space.

    Fortunately Mario lands in a friendly planet and encounters this Floating-Star and he plays Hide and seek with them...oh and the Floating Stars transform into bunny.

    After catching all the Bunny Stars, they point Mario to a building where he founds Rosalina, pretty much the God of the Mario Universe and the "Mother" of the Lumas (The floating stars that transformed into Bunnies), who explains that he needs to find the Maxi-Stars and Power-Stars that Bowser stael out of them from the their "Spaceship" called the Planetarium.

    Rosalina gives Mario a new spin-ability to get back one Maxi-star and Mario does just that. Mario and the star go to the Planetarium and Rosalina asks Mario to go and get more, so the planetarium can run again and get the power necessary to save Princess Peach.

    PRESENTATION: Super Mario galaxy takes great advantage of the Wii's power. While the console is not as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360, but Nintendo took good use of what they had at hand and as a result ,Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best looking and preforming games of the system.

    The smooth 60fps, the saturated colors, the models, everything is great. The soundtrack...do i even need to say anything?, this music is AMAZING!!, it has everything: it's catchy, fits perfectly with the environments, it rarely loops and the instrumentation is done (for the most part) with a full on orchestra and it just sound awesome.

    GAMEPLAY: Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D gravity based collectathon platformer game. Now for anyone who is not familiar with the term "Collectathon", it basicly means a game where you go around a certain map collecting things and completing certain objectives. Games like Banjo-kazooie, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64 and this game, are good examples of this.

    The main feature that this game brings to the table is gravity based platformer. It behaves just like is sounds, you can move in a 360º space and you can go above or below the places that you explore. There are some places were depending on where your are, you will go up or down (mostly in 2D places). The camera angles complement this new feature and very few times it will give you any problems.

    Another thing that Galaxy brings is the motion controls. There are many different level gimmicks around the Wiimote and i really enjoy them, i never had any major control issues and most of the are very simple to use like: point this, control that or shake the controller to do the spin attack...and speaking of...

    To make the platforming in this game a lot more deep, we have the spin attack. It can be used to attack enemies and do a homing jump on them, but the main thing about the move is that it can be used along with the normal jump, long jump, somersault, crouch jump, every jump! to get some extra air time and altitude and believe me it doesn't sound like much, but when you are playing the game this becomes very useful and a lifesaver at times.

    To complete a stage you have to grab the powestar that you get by completing a certain mission and there's 120 stars in total. Some of them are very simple like getting from point A to point B or finding this specific thing on the map, but to get more variety, you also have things like race to the finish against your shadow counterpart or with a bunch of penguins, we also get some comets here and there that grant you things like collect 100 purple coins, beat the stage in a time limit or with incremental speed you know stuff like that.

    We also have some new power ups like the bee suit that allows you to hover or the ghost one that allows you to cross certain walls, but you lose them by touching water and light respectively. The fire flower is also back, but with a strange time limit, and the starman is back to, no super mushroom sadly, but it's because Mario has a health bar this time, but you do have this other one that gives you 6 hit points instead of 3 and then we have the Ice Flower which allows you to go over water...that's it.

    In conclusion Super Mario Galaxy is a fun and very replayable title that any Wii or Wii U owner must have in their shelf. I'll give it a 10/10    … Expand

    This game is one of the best Mario games ever. You will have a great time going through this game. The graphics, the music, and the gameplay make this game great. the only downside is the purple coin challenges.

    This is a masterpiece! I think this is the best 3d Mario game by far. It has beautiful worlds. I especially like the gravity or lack of. It makes way for so much creativity. If you don't have this then you need to get it!

I have played all of the 3D Mario games, and I find that this game introduces lots of new revolutionary places. Anti-gravity, graphics that look shiny and glimmery. Almost like SSB WiiU. Controls are good, but could have used Classic Controller Pro instead. Music is awesome and memorable. And, this is also the first 3D Mario game that you can play as Luigi once you finish the game! Overall, great, but could have been better, you know, multiplayer! Still, fun and great game. 10 out of 10… Expand

    Forget about Ocarina Of Time, this is your greatest of all time! What can I say? This is Mario at the peak of his powers. They perfected the formula and I don't think any other Mario game can top it.

    I've never been a fan of the galaxy games. I don't think this is the best Mario game ever, I don't like the starbit mechanic, and I don't think the orchestrated soundtrack. Sure, the soundtrack is great, but it doesn't feel like it's from Mario. It feels like it's from Star Wars, and that's something a Mario soundtrack should never feel like. However, I'll give it a pass since Mario's inI've never been a fan of the galaxy games.     This game gives me pride for the franchise. That is all i can say about it. Difficult levels for some fun. Great first game if you just got a Wii. Little youthful though so be warned.

The sound tracks, almost every single one has been stuck in my head for the past 10 years since it was released. The graphics, absolutely stunning. For a Wii Game, I would still say this game looks better than the majority of XBox 1 and PS4 games in terms of art and beauty.     When I'm in the right mood, this is one of the best Mario games I've played. The music is probably my favorite part about it, but the game itself is still a blast, even years later. Some levels make me want to use regular controls at times, but overall, it's a fun game.

    Joya atemporal que cualquier amante de las plataformas debería jugar. Sus niveles son muy originales y su lore rompe mucho con lo visto dentro de la franquicia Mario hasta ahora.     I recently replayed this game and I was really shocked how great it still is. It is better than I remembered. The new ways Mario can be played in this game are still fascinating. The music is so great that it nearly brings tears to my eyes. The gameplay is new and fresh and also challenging.
    I can't give it anything else than a 10.

    The visuals for a 2007 Wii game are still to this day outstanding. While the Switch port in Super Mario 3D All-Stars may be seen as cheating for some when talking visuals, playing on the original Wii disc, especially on a Wii U for HDMI, the game holds up remarkably well. The music is one of the best soundtracks ever composed, its beautiful orchestral melodies mixed with the galactic themes of the levels is a match made in heaven.

    The only thing people widely dislike about the game, the motion gimmick levels, barely make up 5 percent of all the levels in the game. Only 6 stars out of the game's 121 stars are the motion controlled levels, and they really are not that bad as long as you pretend the Wiimote or Joycon you're using is a joystick.

    Overall, this game is one of the greats, easily the best of both the Wii's library and Mario's entire catalog, and is a masterpiece on every front. I believe this is a game absolutely everyone should play.    … Expand

    This game has not aged a day, and it still looks and plays incredible! I honestly cannot find any fault in this game. If I wanted to be really critical, I could complain about the Wii's resolution, but that is just the fact it is on the Wii. This game holds to the test of time, and it absolutely will for generations to come!

Although many try to state that it is inferior to Super Mario 64 or even Super Mario Sunshine (the former argument is far more common), Galaxy finds the perfect balance between open-world and linear level design.

    Unlike Super Mario 64 and Sunshine, Galaxy does not offer its player complete freedom. Many galaxies let you explore whilst others force you in a linear path from area to area. Unlike many 2D Mario games, as well as Super Mario 3D World, Galaxy is not a game that forces you to go EXACTLY where you are supposed to. There are plenty of secrets in the world, some easier than others to find, and the only way to find said secrets is to venture off the path.

    Mario feels great to control and motion controls do not detract from this game, unlike many experiences on the Wii. Shaking the Wii remote mid air gives the player an extra method of controlling their jump —and sometimes alter the world around them. Jumping feels satisfying and the camera control is actually really good 95% of the time.

    Level design is phenomenal with galaxies feeling distinct and the bigger galaxies feeling drastically different from one another. The setting of space is also heavily utilized with black holes, planetoids, and stars all being utilized in the game, usually in exciting and scientifically inaccurate ways. Levels are not just the large areas of 64 and Sunshine, but also not the straight path offered by more linear Mario games. Instead this game hits the perfect balance of exploration and progression.

    Galaxy stands the test of time and is far more fun to control than either Sunshine or 64. In addition to its high quality level design this factor has led to the formation of the opinion that Galaxy is the supreme 3D Mario experience and a must play for anyone.    … Expand

    Amazing gameplay, soundtrack, and very interesting levels. One of the most creative Mario games and the second best 3D Mario game, only beaten by Galaxy 2. The controls feel so solid and feel great to use. The story also feels very cinematic, which is quite different for Mario. Hours of pure fun. 9.5/10

    Super Mario galaxy is one of the greatest games of all time and deserves this score. It has a perfect Mario story, and has great level design, with everything about this game being jaw dropping and fun. This is one of my favorite games of all time, and my favorite Mario game too.

    The 2nd best entry in 3D platforming (Mario Odyssey first). This game was revolutionary for Mario 3D platformers with incredibly better and smoother controls, great stages, amazing soundtrack, a lot of content and Luigi as a playable characters of course. Must play.

    in 2005 when the 7th generation of consoles began games tried to look realistic, but they always failed to impress me. They always had these brown washed out colors and it looked dull. The wii was a joke in terms of graphics, yet somehow I feel that this is one of the best looking 7th gen games even if it's not in hd. Super Mario Galaxy is inded the best mario game ever BETTER THAN ODDYESSY !!!. The level design is a very unique one. Planets and gravity may seem a bit odd for a mario game but it works so well. I'll be honest anti-gravity isn't my favorite thing in games. it feels useless, yet somehow I LOVE gravity in this game.Whenever I play this game I always feel like I'm playing a remastered version of sm64. The levels feel so alive they don't feel just like a bunch of obstical courses (something that nowadays mario feels like). The controls are perfect.Motion controls have always confused me. Most of the times they felt like a bad replacement of the actual controller. For me motion controls have to an addition to the controls, something that can't be done with a regular controller.Super Mario Galaxy uses motion controls in a different way. Instead of replacing mario's controls it adds to the gameplay The spin is an awesome edition to mario's movement, but not only that but the cursor that collects star-bits. Now THAT is something that a regular controller can't do (a mouse can do it to but eh). The music is Beyond amazing.
    Like it's probably the best ost ever I'm not joking. There is this combination of orchestral and synthesized music and it's sooooo GUUUUD! This game is just so Brilliant it's not PERFECT but it's rather Phenomenal. This is not only my favorite mario game, but game period .

    One of the best Mario games. The story (while yes being the same for centuries) has a bit of a unique twist on it. The gameplay is amazing. The levels are charming and repayable. The best Mario soundtrack of all time! As you can see, I love this game. it will always be one of my favorites games of all time.

Overall though it creates for disorienting platforming, but in the best way I can muster, as the camera is capable of keeping up with most bizarre scenarios that this game can dish out while still being manageable to surpass them.
    Overall, a must-play on the Wii, and even more-so on emulators, if you have a decent machine that can uprender it to look and sound even better than on the original hardware.    … Expand

    Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best, if not "the" best, Mario game ever made. There are so many Mario games out there nowadays, so it’s hard to tell which one is king of all. Great level design, solid controls, amazing music, and a fantastic presentation overall. This game will make you feel like a child in the best way.
    One grandiose space adventure for the history books of video games!

Yes, I think it's better than Super Mario 64, by a narrow margin, because it makes better use of the platforming gameplay created in Mario 64, the awesome new cool gameplay ideas it brings to the genreSuper Mario Galaxy has polished, varied and exciting gameplay, wonderful level designs and beautiful visuals.     I have been gaming for 10 years now, gone through PC, Switch, PlayStation, and out of all these consoles, I've never played a game as great as Super Mario Galaxy. The gameplay and graphics are amazing, especially from a 2007 game. The soundtrack is also fantastic.

    i almost never give tens but this deserves it. this game never seems to run out of ideas. THE SOUNDTRACK IS THE BEST IN VIDEO GAMING HISTORY. The game might not be hard all the time but can prove challenging. Mario controls great the perfect mix of button and motion controls make the game feel solid for veterans and newcomers.THIS IN MY OPION IS THE BEST GAME EVER

    Super Mario Galaxy. Well its girst of all my favorit game of all time. Grapics, for being the wii thay are beautifull and still hold up to this day. Gameplay, amazing i loved collecting every star except maybe 1 or 2. Controls, not the best but thay are decent. Camera, it can be weird at times but in general its decent but the camera and controls are why its not a 10/10

    I still would say in 2019 that Galaxy>Odyssey even if I love both games
    The only problem with this game is the traditional Mario storyline that I am beyond tired of, but in literally every other way this game is a 10

While it may not have the limitless creative possibilities of Minecraft or the intensity of a shooter, the game just always felt like a HUGE mystery to me, in the best possible way. Something about the atmosphere, gameplay, and soundtrack combined to create an unplaceable something so majestically glorious in thisSuper Mario Galaxy is, beyond a doubt, my favorite video game of all time. While it may not have the limitless creative possibilities of Minecraft or the intensity of a shooter, the game just always felt like a HUGE mystery to me, in the best possible way. Something about the atmosphere, gameplay, and soundtrack combined to create an unplaceable something so majestically glorious in this game that just intrigued me as a kid. In fact the soundtrack is the better part of what inspired me to compose my own music. Galaxy 2 just never gave me that excited, mission -like feel, with the very straightforward map progression it had. However in the original I was always excited to discover what new possibilities lie out in the void of space that surrounded the observatory. And the geniuses who made this game knew exactly how to combine all different elements into something that, even today, gives me a sense of wonder and nostalgia. Whether it was Deep Dark Galaxy and its sense of impending darkness and subtle, eerie "offness," the epic and dangerous Melty Molten Galaxy, or the immersive creativity of Freezeflame Galaxy, the music and graphics are just so perfect together. The experience is so driving, I couldn't ask for anything more in this game. Never was I bored and thinking the game wasn't worth beating; even though I still have one star to collect before I can be Luigi, I'm actually SUPER excited to get it so I can collect gold stars and relive my childhood playing the game over again. And some people have said it's "too easy," well a lot of the comets and purple coins have been very hard for me over the years but still just as fun as regular levels (well maybe not dreadnought purple coin which I am STUCK on, either I'm just bad or that level is just insanely hard). This game is just unforgettable in every way. Definitely the best video game I've ever played, one of the very few games I've ever spent so much time playing and not looked back and thought it was a waste of time.… Expand

    O melhor jogo do Mario já feito e definitivamente fica no topo dos games de plataforma 3D. Level design perfeito, uma das melhores trilhas sonoras dos videogames, gráficos muito bonitos e a jogabilidade funciona muito bem nos controles de Wii. Recomendação fortíssima para quem tem Wii ou Switch.

    Took everything you had in Super Mario Sunshine and improved a lot! The gameplay is amazing, the graphics for the time, amazing too! And the fun! It's great to play it for fun, not just for kids, but for adults too!

    I remember first trying this masterpiece in 2012, 5 years after it came out. Before playing it, i thought it was strange and that it'd have been a normal experience like the other games i've played beforehand. After finishing it, i realized to have gone through one of the most beautiful gaming experiences of my life, no kidding. 100/100, the true Nintendo Business Card :D

    The Super Mario Galaxy franchise is by far my most adored one of all time. Both titles are my most favorite games of all time. The gameplay, theme, score, atmosphere, it all converges to an experience I'd want every single person who has never touched a video game before to have, because I'm convinced it will make them love video games from that point on.

    People say that Mario games are at their best when they surprise you and I think Galaxy might be the exact reason why that view is shared by so many people. Never would anyone have expected a cinematic, orchestral epic featuring our favourite mustachioed plumber, but it is just as thrilling and enjoyable as the presentation suggests.

    I really enjoyed this game. While there are quite a few bad levels in this game, the good ones are amazing. It’s creative and it has some fantastic music. The controls are ok. I hate the motion control and the underwater controls, but other than that the are ok. I really didn’t mind that in order to 100% the game, you have to replay it with Luigi. In reality this took a while to do, but itI really enjoyed this game. While there are quite a few bad levels in this game, the good ones are amazing. It’s creative and it has some fantastic music.     Gripping and fun. A very nice refresh of the main Mario franchise which inevitably starts to feel like it is stagnating. But exceeding expectation Nintendo really managed to outdo themselves with this, and that is not an easy thing to do

    Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece and all but Super Mario Galaxy was Super Mario at its peak! Excellent level design, an oddly intriguing story and a wonderful atmosphere enhanced by Koji Kondo's pulchritudinous score! It's everything you could ever ask for in a video game and to this day remains as one of the greatest of all time in my opinion!
