This is a cut above most monster collection games, but won't change the world. [Oct 2009, p.80]
-
Spectrobes: Origins brings to Wii the essence of the Nintendo DS games. The real time battles, commanding many kind of creatures and with the new excavation fossils are so great. But the game is simple with repetitive actions and scenarios in a weak story. A recommended game for new RPG gamers and for the fans of the series.
-
This is a decent game, and kids will likely enjoy it for a while, but it falls well short of being any sort of modern classic.
-
Origins is yet another good RPG for the Wii. Genki has done a very good adaptation of the portable editions of Disney's franchise. We will find tons of creatures to deal with, all together with an outstanding graphics engine.
-
Nintendo GamerThis latest attempt to wrestle Pokemon from the hands of children and replace it with Disney's own Spectrobes fails again. [Nov 2009, p.59]
-
Unsophisticated mechanics and repetitive battles plague this generic space adventure.
-
Spectrobes: Origins is fun if it's your first foray into the collect-a-thon genre, but otherwise, it's a pixelated case of follow the leader.
-
Nintendo PowerUsing various motion-controlled tools to excavate your Spectrobes is oddly compelling, but this is otherwise a pretty vanilla effort. [Oct 2009, p.90]
