As simple as it is, SNK Arcade Classics is a solid collection and is especially appetizing if you haven't already purchased a bunch of individual Neo Geo games.
-
SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 moves onto the Wii with some better emulation and control options over the latter two making it a slightly more enjoyable experience.
-
Nintendo GamerThere are a few duffers here but the good definitely outweighs the bad. [Jan 2009, p.70]
-
SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 is a solid collection that features some fantastic Neo-Geo titles (Metal Slug, Shock Troopers, Last Resort) as well as some not-so-fantastic ones.
-
SNK Arcade Classics Vol.1 ticks all retro-gaming boxes admirably, offering a satisfying and varied selection of authentically emulated games that deserve to be played, rather than left to gather dust in SNK’s vaults!
-
In terms of retro gaming, this is probably the best deal you can currently get on the Wii.
-
Like all arcade games, these aren't very long and can be beaten in an afternoon when you use unlimited continues, but there's no denying that it's a ton of fun while it lasts.
-
None of the games are of Street Fighter II or Golden Axe quality, but that shouldn’t discourage you from seeing what SNK has to offer, you might be surprised.
-
Some of the games in this collection are better than you remember, but many are worse.
-
Even at the budget price label there’s not really that much to get excited about here unless you are a massive fan of SNK’s line up and haven’t played any of these titles in years.
