  1. It seems churlish to completely dismiss Scarface's many amusements just because of control issues, especially as they can be accommodated with patience and practice. For the bulk of its playing time Scarface remains an indecently entertaining bad taste romp and, for those who don't have access to a PS2 or Xbox, it's still worth having.
  2. Being able to apply a world that has already dug itself into the minds of many thousands of Al Pacino fans is something that shouldn't be passed up on, and then giving those extra little things to be that Tony Montana with thousands of wasteful dollars is a joy. It's a world that shouldn't be wasted.

This is a flawed but decent conversion of an older title based on a flawed but decent movie. That level of consistency is pretty rare these days.

An enjoyable game. The Wii controls do bring the quality of the game down a little bit though.
  5. Ultimately though, the move to the Wii has done much more harm than the game could really take, with the control issues tearing what was a solid and enjoyable game apart mercilessly.

Scarface is a great technical achievement on the Wii. It looks the part and provides all the required controls via the Wiimote and nunchuck. However, it doesn't seem able to do what all great games in this genre need to do, it never becomes more than the sum of its parts.
  7. It fails to match the sum of its parts. The drug dealing aspect is really the game's only defining feature, and with the rest of the game being merely competent in all areas, the Scarface licence is left to do all the hard work.
  8. There's nothing else quite like Scarface on the Wii yet, but the gamepad-to-Wii Remote transition has made this lackluster game play even worse.
  9. Unfortunately, the best aspects of Scarface are often overshadowed by the rest of the game, which can range from mundane to frustrating.

Well for one the use of the Wii Zapper (i suppose that is what most people use for this game) was really difficult (as with any game using the Wii Zapper.) Great story line but the mechanics are difficult to control. 4/10 Full Review »
