    A blip in a series of games that are otherwise great. This is nowhere near as good as the original SMB games or the Galxy games. The multiplayer is just carnage and the single player is better but level design is good in points but controls are odd and the physics feels too sluggish and floaty.

    Sincerely, the game is not bad at all, but the problem is that, it was a bad idea to put all of those new items instead of only keeping the classic items or eventhough the items used in New Super Mario Bros. It was really dissapointing.

    it's not that this game doesn't play right; it plays smoothly, and is a standard platformer for today. The problem is is that now Mario has become a re-hash lover. It's been clear that Nintendo has made it's run with the franchise, and is now just making it into the cash cow that it always has been. I don't know why people praise that game; it's so uninspired and generic, there's not a variety to be had, it feels too basic, and other games that came out around the time were so much more developed. It was simplistic, this game is simplistic too, but so much more. Super Mario Bros would get a 7, this game gets a 5. If you don't like, oh well. Play the game and tell me it's a brand new Mario experience.… Expand

    Essentially just a wii version of the ds game, now we have 5 new super Mario bros games and it's getting pretty old, hopefully that Mario game on the switch will shack the formula up

Peach gets a big cake for her birthday (who's going to eat it all?) and the obvious happens: the Koopalings jump out and kidnap her for the millionth time. The levels are pretty boring, the story is terrible, and the end is even worse. You fight a normal bowser battle. Then you getA pretty bad game.     [OBJECTIVE QUALITY REVIEW] There wasn't much that was interesting about the levels - they were pretty generic even for what at least seemed like a nice old-school diversion from the traditional 2d Mario formula - it turned out to be their excuse to do 2d Mario without actually innovating much as we've seen in the distant future. However it was also good that the Koopalings had returned to[OBJECTIVE QUALITY REVIEW] There wasn't much that was interesting about the levels - they were pretty generic even for what at least seemed like a nice old-school diversion from the traditional 2d Mario formula - it turned out to be their excuse to do 2d Mario without actually innovating much as we've seen in the distant future. However it was also good that the Koopalings had returned to the Mario formula - a smart move by Nintendo for a series where all characters should at least have a substantial part in it. But there is very little replay value, and some sections of the game were really just punishing, as opposed to difficult - there's actually a difference here. Also, some of the levels are a pain to make it through, and even more so when dying on the tail end of one with no check-points. In fact, my first playthrough of this game involved getting to both World 5 and World 8 Warp Cannons just to get to World 8, get past the rather painful final boss, and complete the game, just to get it done. The controls are also pretty shoddy on this one as well. We've already had difficulty multi-stomping enemies and doing Bulldozer Attacks for a long time due to collision issues, but the shoddy controls on this title make it even more painful to do so, if not impossible. Also, overall, the game is just pretty boring in general even for New Super Mario Bros. early on, though that's not to say that it DOESN'T have meritable fun value for what it is.… Expand

    Es casi un mod de New Mario Bros DS (creo que Nintendo creo al Mario Maker cuando desarolló esa serie). Si te has juagado cualquiera NEW Mario Bros (DS, Wii, 3DS Wii U, Swicth) no hace falta jugar otro, son literalmente lo mismo. Si juegas Mario Bros 1, Mario Bros 3 y Mario World veras que son juegos muy distintos en mecanicas, fisicas estetica, porpuestas, pero aqui no, la serie new esEs casi un mod de New Mario Bros DS (creo que Nintendo creo al Mario Maker cuando desarolló esa serie). Really easy to die and when you do die you usually lose a lot of progress, and playing the game with other people is borderline impossible thanks to the bizarre decision on the part of the developers to make characters wildly bounce off each other.     I can't even review this game. Not because it's terrible, it's just so dull. It works perfectly fine and if you love Super Mario Bros. 3 and want what amounts to a remake, here you go. But it's just not my thing (I was always more of a Super Mario World fan).

    Oh, and the multiplayer is more antagonistic than MarioKart.

    4 out of 10, the eternal short story reuse is getting annoying. What is the point of having the same story? Just call it a platform game.

    Ok, I see maybe it looks more complete even with this reuse and justifies the higher price.

    I would not recommend this game to long time Mario fans. If you play Mario 3 and Super Mario World a lot, I doubt you would like this. In SMB3 and World, Mario is very quick, light, and agile. In this game he is very slow and clunky, and he can't even turn around properly. The stages are pretty bland and it was like they used this new, slower Mario as a way of justifying that.     First we got the disappointement of Super Mario Galaxy, and now this, the worst Mario game ever, it might be original with the new powers and stuff, but it is all the same, I regret in playing and buying this game.

This type of repackaging with a fresh coat of paint would usually warrant a 5/10 because they're emulating a game that was pretty damn good.     This is the worst Mario game to have ever been created since Super Mario 3. Do yourself a favor and get Mario Party 8 instead of this if you want a REAL Mario game.

    This game is terrible. My brother and I tried for hours to play together and it was sheer torture. This game is a relentlessly unforgiving and punishing hell. There isn't real strategy or enjoyment, just the same "dodge this, jump that" redundant garbage. Don't buy this game unless you love to torture yourself and desire an ulcer.

    Possibly the worst game ever played. To say the controls are sluggish would be the understatement of the year. It isn't that the game itself is hard in design, it is on par with other fun 2D mario games, however the developers went way over the top with handicapping the player with slow, laggy movements. You might as well be trying to play this game with mittens on.

    Que el ataque giratorio se haga con el sensor de movimiento es lo más estúpido que haya visto en toda la vida. No sé quién es el hijo de la re mil mierd4 al que se le ocurrió pero es un maldit0 retrasad0 mental. SOLO por el movimiento de presionar el botón a veces se mueve y te arruina la partida, no entiendo por qué CARAJOS NO REDUJERON LA SENSIBILIDAD NECESARIA PARA ACTIVARLO.     No sé a cuál japonés se le ocurrió que debería ser obligatorio usar el control de movimiento para girar, pero no tiene idea de jugar videojuegos, es un infinito asco tener qur usar eso, además porquebse activa solo con un movimiento muy ligero, eso provoca muchos suicidios. Una mierda de desición que arruina un buen juego.

    Enjoying Mario in the genre that saw him born is always a great pleasure, even if you are not a fan of the platform titles. Nintendo returns to its specialty: to offer hours and hours of fun by giving us games with their own personality and a shellproof gameplay.

    New Super Mario Bros. Wii is an excellent game with friends, and I had a great deal of challenging fun with the solo mode. But if you’re looking for a new Mario adventure that’s tailored to creating the maximum amount of fun for just one person, you’ll have to wait for next year’s Super Mario Galaxy 2.
