    As far as racing games with only one track goes, Indianapolis 500 Legends isn't half bad. Unfortunately its limited scope makes it difficult to recommend over some of the better racing games on the console.

    In many ways, Indianapolis 500 Legends is more an interactive history lesson than a proper game. By limiting you to certain drivers and certain years, players gain a deep historical knowledge of certain races at the expense of all the others.

    The game comes up short, and is only going to appeal to fans of the sport that can turn a blind eye to its faults, and instead enjoy what can at times be a fun nod to a racing era long forgotten.

    What it can best be described as is a glorified demo. With only one track, no customization, and not much to accomplish outside of the missions, the game is extremely shallow.

    You've got one track, a small assortment of vehicles, stupid opponents, an antique setting, and little variety. Unless you're a historian of racing, better leave this one in the garage.

    This is actually a fun game. I love the mechanics of racing and the retro era. The many negatives I see lament that only one track isThis is actually a fun game. The only thing "accurate" about this game is the information about the cars and track... the gameplay has little basis in reality. The only thing "challenging" is trying to keep your lunch down due to severe nausea resulting from profound regret over wasting your money. Finally, the only thing "fun" here is laughing at the absolutely pathetic visuals... racing games on the N64 looked better than this. Avoid this game at all costs, even if you are a die-hard racing fan. Instead, save your money for Mario Kart.… Full Review »

It isn't mario kart, but it has its merits. By far the most effective driver aids on the platform, it is very hard to lose control in this game. The drafting/slingshot game mechanic are very nicely done. Now if I could only avoid the pits, and only '60's cars?… Full Review »
