    f you're a fan of music/rhythm games then you can't too much better than this. Small fixes to the game engine improve playability and additions such open bass note sustains and ghost notes on drums add to the experience. The setlist is top notch and just about every song deserves to be in the game unlike previous entries that had a lot of lackluster songs. The story may be cheesy but the whole thing is tongue-in-cheek and the overall atmosphere really harks back to the days of GH3. This game does what it sets out to do, please hardcore music game fans. While some will attack the lack of innovation, this game was meant to do one thing: please fans of past games. If you enjoyed GH3/GH2 you can't find another game (nor will you) that resembles them so well. RB3 is promising new features that may turn out great but WoR looks to have the best shredding available.… Expand

    Although this game does bring the series back to the roots, after giving it a long length of play, the underlying quest mode is extremely monotonous, star challenges are monotonous, and the game almost makes you need to keep playing like this to unlock everything and gain a high rank.     Anyone complaining that this game is just more of the same should first look at the Call of Duty series or Madden NFL series, offering almost identical gameplay in a new $60 box each year.

How much more can you add to a music game until critics think that it's a new game?
    After all, the GH team seem to be going more down the road of "this is a game, have fun" than "this is an instrument simulator, learn a ****ing instrument already" as Rock Band seems to be doing.
    If you're a fan of the GH series, especially GH3, then don't hesitate to pick this one up.

    Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock is the sixth game in the Guitar Hero franchise. You play by strumming a guitar controller along to a variety of coloured frets that appear on the screen scrolling downwards. You can also plug in a drumset or microphone for an authentic band experience. While it is similar to Guitar Hero 5, it does have a lot of new features. In the main storymode, each playableGuitar Hero Warriors of Rock is the sixth game in the Guitar Hero franchise. You can also plug in a drumset or microphone for an authentic band experience. While it is similar to Guitar Hero 5, it does have a lot of new features. In the main storymode, each playable character has their own bonus. These offer some clever strategies depending on the song and your playstyle. You can also do Quickplay which is when you choose exactly what songs you want to play. There’s also a custom rocker creation tool, online play and a variety of other features including Downloadable Content.

    While the Guitar Hero Franchise is over for the time being, this is still a fantastic game, and well worth picking up if you’re a fan of the previous games. They really put some effort into this one which is great.    … Expand

    By now, I'm sort of glad Activision isn't making any more Guitar Hero games or spin-offs. Why? Because GUITAR HERO: WARRIORS OF ROCK was just a difficult-to-use repeat of GUITAR HERO 5 with different songs that are still hard to recognize.

    Well, this game's failure to sell single-handedly killed the series, so let's see what went wrong. In actuality, nothing really went too wrong. The basic game is the same rocking good time we've come to expect from Guitar Hero, this time with a soundtrack more focused on rock and metal. That's cool in my book, but what are the problems? Really just all the little things that ActivisionWell, this game's failure to sell single-handedly killed the series, so let's see what went wrong. In actuality, nothing really went too wrong. The basic game is the same rocking good time we've come to expect from Guitar Hero, this time with a soundtrack more focused on rock and metal. That's cool in my book, but what are the problems? Really just all the little things that Activision either forgot or ignored. Really, that's all I can do: just rant about what they did wrong.

    Firstly, let's talk about Quest. I applaud them for trying to create an epic if overblown story, but that's the problem: there really isn't a story to speak of at all. Basically, you get the first four rockers together and transform them into these REALLY cool Warrior forms, you play Rush's 2112 song in its entirety to get the Legendary Guitar (cool segment. Not enough to make the mode worth all the grinding), you recruit the last four rockers, then you go fight the Beast. That's it. Compare that to Guitar Hero III, and you can't help but be disappointed. The Spirit forms? There's no reason those should even exist, and if they do, make them alternate costumes, not separate characters!

    Now the soundtrack. I think the soundtrack was really well selected with a large assortment of songs by great bands, but I can't help but feel that they picked the right artists but the wrong songs. Why give us "Cryin'" by Aerosmith when we'd much rather have "Dream On"? Also, the charting on some songs is just weird. "Bohemian Rhapsody" I believe needs no introduction, but then there's "Wish" where the charting makes the song very near to unplayable. As with most Activison games made for the Wii, the graphics leave much to be desired (though they're much better than World Tour or Smash Hits).

    From there, it's just a whole bunch of questions: why can you still only make twenty characters in the Rocker Creator? Why can you only have twenty songs from GHTunes? What happened to Guitar Duels? Where are the real-life rocker cameos (having Gene Simmons voice the Demigod of Rock is cool, and so is Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson narrating the 2112 segment, but why do you think Guitar Hero III sold so well?)

    I still love this game, though. It may be more of the same, but the same is great. You'll have a ton of fun despite forgetting or ignoring all the little things. If you haven't bought the game yet, go down to the store and buy a brand new copy of the game. That's the only way we're gonna get Activision to bring the series back: if the demand and sales numbers are there. Not to mention I think there's still some Soundgarden CDs lurking around in them.

    Warriors of Rock is the worst Guitar Hero game. Even the new Guitar Hero Live is better. Things were going downhill since Guitar Hero 5, where I think Guitar Hero should have ended.

    a return to a more stylistic approach on the franchise, with a fantastic story mode following and expanding on rush's classic album "21112"

    Guitar Hero se despidió con la entrega más perfecta si no fuera por 3 y Metallica. Un soundtrack desafiante, brillante y de todas las épocas. Un completo homenaje a la historia del rock que además estaba narrado por el mejor modo historia de toda la franquicia, narrado por Gene Simmons tratando el disco 2112 de Rush. La calibración era perfecta y todas las canciones iban acompañadas deGuitar Hero se despidió con la entrega más perfecta si no fuera por 3 y Metallica. Un soundtrack desafiante, brillante y de todas las épocas. Un completo homenaje a la historia del rock que además estaba narrado por el mejor modo historia de toda la franquicia, narrado por Gene Simmons tratando el disco 2112 de Rush. La calibración era perfecta y todas las canciones iban acompañadas de diversos retos estrella que nos daba puntos para desbloquear contenido. Es increíble como fracasó en ventas y eso hizo morir la franquicia.

    This isn't a bad game, but it just ends up as "yet another Guitar Hero" with the set list being the only important difference between Warriors of Rock and World Tour or GH5 or Band Hero.

    With any music, the tracks included are what can make or break a game and those featured in Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock really bring out the best, and whilst the new approach taken by Activision and Neversoft doesn't really change the core gameplay much. The music helps make this one of the most compelling Guitar Hero games to date.
