  1. Five-a-side is a great addition. Just as well, as the rest is mostly similar to last year's game.
  2. If you were turned-off by the last few versions and the focus on arcade action, the ability to choose between simulation or arcade soccer will make you very happy.

Color me impressed, because FIFA 11 dishes up a good game of soccer without going overboard on the Wii's waggle controls. The game may be a bit light on the features, but it gets it all right where it counts most.

EA deserves a lot of credit here for breaking the mold of Wii versions of core sports games. By altering both the gameplay style and the visual style, they've managed to create an experience that, while not as deep and involving, is inviting and enjoyable in its own way.

This latest FIFA [is] one of my favorites. [Nov 2010, p.89]
  6. King soccer is back, and the version for Wii is more impressive than ever. Definitely worth a look.

Wii-owning soccer fans will do fine to pick up FIFA Soccer 11 for their systems.

    FIFA 11 doesn't feel particularly ambitious, but it's still a well-made game.
  10. If you are looking for a realistic football experience, then the versions of FIFA for other platforms are still the way to go, but FIFA 11 for the Wii is a very good package that is well suited to Nintendo's console.

Less arcade than its predecessors, FIFA 11 finds on Wii a good balance between casual feeling and simulation.
  12. The over-the-top action seems to have been relegated to the "supplementary" 5-on-5 modes, taking the focus away from the main game as it shrivels from malnutrition.

This is a decent football game, but it's only a distant relative of FIFA 11 for Xbox360 and PS3, and it's far worse than PES on Wii. Try it only if you are a fan of five-a-side football.

Overall FIFA 11 feels like a step in the wrong direction for the series on Wii. The new control mechanics practically force real soccer players to use the Classic Controller in order to separate the pass button from the crossing ability and Hit the Streets doesn't pan out the way EA hoped.

FIFA 2002 and FIFA Street 1 - together at last! EA can stick this one in their own net. [Issue#231, p.87]

But it could have been so much better if this game was FIFA: Hit the Streets - licensed teams and names with all the effort put into a killer arcade mode. The half-and-half version is a bit of a nil-all-draw on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon.
