    I really liked this game, the problem is: bugs. There are bugs anywhere. I don't think this game is a Sonic game, because there is no Sonic speed, there is no good music and there is no Super Sonic in the final battle; but, it's a good platform game. I liked the characters, Knuckles is super funny, the story is ok, the level design is ok, but I think could be better on Amy Rose levels...I really liked this game, the problem is: bugs. There are bugs anywhere. I don't think this game is a Sonic game, because there is no Sonic speed, there is no good music and there is no Super Sonic in the final battle; but, it's a good platform game.     If you think Sonic 2006 was bad, then you haven't played sonic boom rise of lyric. Sonic 2006 was glitchy, but it was glitchy in a fun way (mostly) in this game however, the glitchyness just makes you want to bang your head against the wall. Sonic 2006 was a good game (yes I actually said that) , boom, is so bad, it's evil. It's an unpolished mess. At least they put him back to normal in Sonic forces. The story in this game is just damn right awful, it's worse than Sonic lost world's. The fact that there are a few playable characters is cool, but that's one of the very few positives of this game. This game would have been great if they hadn't stripped it down for the Wii U.     I am very pleased to have played this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are very nice and so is the combat. The game has 0 bugs in it and you can play as the speedy blue hedgehog and Amy and knuckles and tails and Eggman and shadow. This is the only good game ever made, this game makes Mario galaxy and Xenoblade 3 look like garbage. This game was so good It cured my ADHD.

    This game insulted me. Its first sin is that the characters were redesigned to look more like mutant humans. Secondly, sonic is a platformer, not an adventure game. Then there are the glitches upon glitches upon glitches. Every stage feels the same and the game treats the player as if they are an idiot. It is without a shadow of a doubt, the WORST mainline sonic game.

The 3D is impressive, the characters are creative and like the humour and quirkiness of the story, it is actually very astounding and a bit funny.     Can call me whatever you want, I think this Sonic Boom game is not bad. Like a platformer this one is pretty normal, combat is feeling good, the story is the best from Sonic Boom srories. For me the biggest problem of this game - diversity, not even bugs, 'cause I didn't fiound them that much.

    Play any other Sonic game instead of this one.

There is an open world where there is not enough map interface and a large number of NPCs to create the illusion of a living world like in Sonic Adventure, only some characters with sidequests. There is a pumping that almost does not affect the passage of the game.

    I pass it on the emulator and I really like it, I see the unrealized potential of the project (and judging by the history of its development, the publisher himself ruined the entire original idea of the project and in a hurry forced to redo it - you can find this story on the Internet).

    It's not a complete dumpster fire like Sonic 06 in that the core gameplay works and that the cut scenes - like the Sonic Boom TV show - are actually quite well directed and acted. It's sort've a Saturday morning cartoon of a game, it's just like S06 its unfinished.

    I genuinely don't get why people hate this game so much. It's fun! I love the feel of it, the controls, the jokes, the animations, the aesthetics of the levels, the only problem is optimization, but I played this game on Cemu, and it's quite decent.

Ich mag das neue Sonic Boom Gameplay, das Spiel hat auch eine schöne Story, guten Humor, gute Musik und auch einige schöne Welten. Und die Bugs stören mich auch kaum! Kein unglaubliches spiel aber Ich hatte viel Spaß mit diesem Spiel!

After the second attempt, it bricked my Wii U. For me, it's complete trash. Even up to that point, the gameplay was stale, repetitive, and just, boring.     It boggles my mind how 100+ people like this game. It's easily one of the worst games I've ever played. The controls are janky, the graphics look like early PS2, story is trash and the game is so acutely unfun. It feels like a LEGO game, starring Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Whoever likes this game is lying, do not, and I mean DO NOT, BUY THIS GODDAMN GAME.

    This sub-franchise in general was only created to satisfy the little kids that liked Sonic '06 and those awful Wii games (except Colors). I gotta admit that this game, along with the TV show made me feel embarassed by being a Sonic fan. Thankfully, Sonic Mania came to clear the damages that this sub-franchise (along with the aforementioned bad games) caused to the Sonic franchise.    … Expand

Missing frames, terrible dialogue, it’s not cleverly written in any way, there is no real threat unless you touch water, the glitches and bugs are so incredibly apparent everywhere, sloppy animation, and uninteresting NPCs. Thirdly, a sad slasher, and a poorly implemented system of interaction between the main characters. Enemies do not create a challenge, except for a battle with Metal Sonic. But considering all these disadvantages, the game does not deserve to be bad, as we see that the authors tried, tried to create a truly new Sonic. Though many people complain about the plot, but take a look at the age rating, and now think is it really bad? The authors tried to fix technical problems by releasing a global patch. They made a kind of pumping system and interaction between the characters, which we have not seen since the Sonic Heroes game. They even made a nice 2D platformer and the same slasher, which we have not seen since the days of Sonic Unleashed either. unlike the same Sonic Forces, the developers of Big Red Button, not the Sonic Team, tried, they didn’t care about this game anyway. They tried to fix technical problems, tried to add those things that were not in Sonic, well, or those that were forgotten by the Sonic Team. When you enter high speed sections, the graphics tend to get choppy, which can unfortunately have an effect on the gameplay. It's not unplayable, but it is a major problem. Other than the framerate, some of theI love Sonic games. Even the ones that get bad reviews, I tend to still have fun playing. With this being said, this game does have some problems. If you are a Sonic fan like I am, then you might enjoy this game, but if you aren't you will probably want to give it a pass.     This is the worst game of all time. EVER!! It runs like an old lady with 3 hip replacements, and shouldn't ever be experienced by any human ever. Some say Sonic 06' is the worst, they haven't even played a fraction of this nightmarish experience.

The gameplay is bland and boring and pretty much ripped from Sonic Unleashed (Which is a MUCH better game by the way), terrible story and frame rate, and there are a ton of glitches. I'd rather you play Sonic 06, and that game is crap, but at least it's better than THIS.

    What I wanted was a Open World 3D Sonic game. Instead we became a Sonic Version of The Legend Zelda. With the easiest if I can even call it"Dungeons" . But I like the Design and Combat Gameplay. For me its Sonic Unleashed Werehog levels or Sonic Battle 3D.

    Have you seen such a great game based on a TV-show ? Your answer is probably no. Because in Sonic Boom : Rise Of Lyric you will get many ways to experience the game. The memes, the graphics, the story, the voice acting and the cartoony cutscenes will introduce you to an awesome game. This is a game you should buy.

    Due to the cartoon coming out soon, the use of an engine that is not supported by the crap U and having to rush out the game made it the most unfinished, unpolished Sonic game ever.     Simply put, there are no redeeming qualities in sonic boom. The graphics are poor, the animation is anything but smooth, the framerate hurts your eyes, and the voice acting isn't great either. The music is forgettable as well. At least Sonic '06 had decent music. Do NOT buy this game even at a discount. It's a waste of money and time.

    There have been a lot of bad Sonic games over the years but Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric has to be near the top (or bottom? ) of that list. There is hardly anything redeeming about the game. Wii U owners looking for a Sonic fix would be better served by "Lost World" or just going back to the Wii's "Sonic Colors". Honestly, there is no reason to play this.

I at least got some enjoyment from Sonic 06. Sonic Boom? No. The music is generic, the levels are generic, the game play is generic, it's all just so generic. And don't get me started on the cardboard cutout characters. Sonic isn't too bad (just generic Sonic with no personality), but Tails is a stereotypical nerd, knuckles is a stereotypical dumb brute, and Amy is the stereotypical girl. Then there's Lyric. He is the most boring, generic antagonist I have ever seen. He has no personality whatsoever. If you want a better Sonic game that actually feels like a Sonic game, I highly recommend Sonic Generations or Sonic Colors. This game isn't worth your time or money.     In terms of visuals, the Boom designs of the main Sonic characters really do fit very nicely in this universe, along with the designs themselves really showing off the characters personalities, Knuckles especially (Though the lack of intelligence is a cringe moment), the lighting really reminds me well of how it was done in Sonic Unleashed and the voice acting is very good from the 2009 group, in fact I'd say this is the best they've done so far.
    I do recommend this game, however I wouldn't recommend buying it full price from Amazon, I say if you see it in a Second Hand shop for about £20 or less, then get it, at least you're not being ripped off    … Expand

    When I rated sonic 06 I game it a 10 as a joke, but now, play time is over, first of all, the music is extremely bland, but that's not much of a problem because no one will ever shut up, both games have glitches, but at least in sonic boom you have to go out of your way to exploit any glitches, the only good things to come out of this is the cartoon and fire and ice

    I won't lie to you, I only played the free demo, but I think we can all agree that it's bad. If we ignore the unstable frame rate, the game breaking glitches, the awful one-liners and all that stuff, it still is a pretty terrible beat-em-up with sonic plastered all over it

The writing isn't as good or funny as the show, I did still get a few laughs out of it. One thing I kind of do have to agree on with a lot of people is how the characters never seem to shut up that much. It does get annoying. Overall, there are much better games out there, but there's a whole lot more that are much worse. Considering Big Red Button had to change to the Wii U, something Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric was not really meant for when they started developing it in such a short amount of time, it's still OK for what it is.     Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I don't see what everyone dislikes about this game. Because I had fun throughout the entire game from beginning to end. The characters were likable, the combat was interesting... Maybe not worth a 10, but I just couldn't bear to see it have such a low score. I would recommend it, very solid game.

The game's vibrant open worlds, the blood-pumping speed sections, the lovable quirky characters, everything about it was perfect. And I could have never seen the twist at the end coming...     Overall, this game is a decent game with some room for improvement. There are things like glitches and framerate issues that need to be worked out, and the graphics aren't that great, but it was fun in the end.

    sonic 06 for ps3 and 360 is better than sonic boom rise of lyric for wii u, do me a favor you better avoid sonic boom rise of lyric for wii u and stick to sonic 06 for ps3 and 360, because sonic 06 got solid 6.75 from game informer and sonic boom rise of lyric gets 4 from game informer.

    Controls are bad. Graphics look bad. Redesigns look like trash. Platforming sucks. Story sucks. 100% unplayable, alright cutscences, not so much variety, and GLITCHESSS. This game is the WORST sonic game of all time.

    That's how super egg sees it. I just found out how he talks. Is just sad how I see what he says. If he ever note a guy I guess you would agree with him. Trash is always trash.

    Simply put, Sonic Boom is one of the worst Sonic games in recent memory: the concept is bland, the design is awful and the execution is incredibly poor.

    Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric is a real disappointment for Sonic fans. There is basically nothing positive to say about this game. Sonic deserves much better.
