Runbow has a fairly unique concept in its playstyle that I don’t believe I’ve seen in any other game before. While the single player modes provide quite a bit of challenge on their own, I feel the multiplayer modes are where this game shines. While AI opponents would have been nice so anyone could experience those modes, this is an excellent game for quick play on your own or for when you have lots of friends over.

It is totally unique in style, it has a great identity and has cemented it’s place in the indie world almost instantly as one of the best indie games on Wii U.

Runbow is a great surprise. Addictive and extremely fun, it'll become one of the best choices to play when friends come over.

Without a doubt, this is a great party game that has all the makings for a must have Wii U title. I can’t suggest it enough.

This platformer is chaotic fun and one of the best (and simplest) multiplayer experiences on Wii U.

For the price, I'd still recommend Runbow for solo players, as long as you really love platforming. Even if you only enjoy the genre just a little though, it's still a fantastic party game.

The different modes are good at showing the many ramifications of the great idea around of which the game is build, a sign of the a developer with excitement and trust in what it was doing: a simple, original and fun game.

The bite-sized stages really help keep the game moving, even when I'm performing poorly, and the aesthetic is incredibly easy on the eyes. There's some zany good times to be had with the multiplayer as well, and I'm sure Runbow will soon find its way into the rotation as a go-to party game in my household.

By presenting a very simple gameplay in a complex structure, Runbow offers an unforgettable multiplayer experience to play with friends and family. The innovative level design along with its colorful and charming feel plus the variety of modes has made Runbow one of the best indie games available on Wii U.

Runbow is a frantic and exhilarating multiplayer game, with clever ideas and... a non-existent online crowd to play with. Such a pity!

One of the best massively multiplayer offline games of recent years, although like any party game its attractions are fairly fleeting.

At its heart, Runbow is a game to break out during a big gathering, rather than play on your own. Nothing is more fun than hooking up controllers and playing with a whole bunch of your friends for a night, and Runbow offers that in spades, provided you have all the Wii Remotes and attachments at your disposal.

While the inclusion of a 9 person multiplayer is indeed intriguing, there just isn’t enough to Runbow to really make you along want to come back, let alone the 8 other people you can possibly finagle. It’s simplistic jumping on levels for time trials, or it’s overly-chaotic racing around the same platforming levels. It’s not like the WiiU is hurting for good 2D platformers that you can play instead.

All in all, Runbow is a decent party game that offers some laughs and a nice amount of variety, though it is unfortunately not as accomplished as other similar games.

Runbow is a delightfully fun multiplayer experience that brings together racing and platforming and where the gameplay is centered around colour. The execution of its mechanics is laudable and its unlockable content will provide fun sessions for long hours. It does miss out on its single player mode, where the experience feels much lonelier and its online mode could use some more appeal.

It’s not the worst way to spend your time and money, but there are also much better local multiplayer games you could be playing instead.
