Dec 18, 2015If we cannot have an actually F-Zero, FAST Racing NEO definitely is a great substitute. This is a fun and challenging Wii U racer that will keep you entertained for a long while, and an outstanding experience especially for a relatively unknown indie studio.
-
Dec 17, 2015It’s a stunning title that any F-Zero or hyper-fast racing fan will want to play.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineFeb 4, 2016If you've been searching for years for both an F-Zero and Wipeout homage, look no further than FAST Racing NEO. [Issue #19 – January/February 2016, p.27]
-
Jan 4, 2016Marred only by a relative lack of content, Fast Racing Neo more than ably fills a void left by other futuristic racers and just looks and sounds incredible as well.
-
Jan 3, 2016Fans who enjoyed the F-Zero series won’t want to pass up FAST Racing Neo. While a bit more difficult than the classic Nintendo series, most of the core gameplay is very similar while adding a couple of new mechanics. While the multiplayer is a bit lackluster in customization, there’s a lot of single player racing to challenge players for quite a while. Fans of fast-paced racers won’t want to miss this one.
-
Dec 22, 2015A magnificent visual environment, a fitting soundtrack, very challenging races that are perfectly matched with the controllers and its multiplayer modes make FAST Racing Neo one of the best indie games on the Wii U and a compulsory option for fans of fast racing games.
-
Dec 17, 2015For those of you who have been longing to fill your F-Zero void, Fast Racing Neo is it. It's a wonderful futuristic racer with plenty of perks, challenges and joys, whether you prefer going at it alone or cruising with friends in tow. It's one of the year's most surprising games, and a ride you definitely shouldn't miss.
-
Dec 10, 2015An excellent example of what Wii U can do with the resources and knowledge of such a fantastic developer team as Shin´en. Gorgeous, a blast to play and challenging. A big surprise for Wii U owners.
-
Dec 9, 2015With no new F-Zero or Wipeout out there, Fast Racing Neo is a totally recommendable choice for futuristic racing game fans. Given the very high difficulty level, only real hardcore gamers must apply.
-
Dec 8, 2015Fast Racing Neo made a strong impression right off the bat, and is easily one of my favorite games this year. It's fast, it's responsive, it has a compelling color-switching mechanic, and Hero Mode provides a stupidly fast-paced challenge that's going to last me quite some time.
-
Dec 8, 2015If you love racing games - and maybe even if you don't but are willing to try - be sure to pick this up. We don't think you'll be disappointed.
-
Dec 8, 2015F-Zero to the core, Fast Racing Neo is almost everything you’d want in a future racing game.
-
Dec 16, 2015If you are an F-Zero fan, this might be your game of the hour. For a small price, contents are not unlimited, but there's real fun and competition here.
-
Dec 11, 2015I love that this game exists. It checks the boxes that it absolutely needs to hit. 60 frames per second? Yes. Cool look and sound? Definitely. A sensation of speed that doesn’t seem possible? For sure.
-
Dec 8, 2015An addictive game that successfully replicates the F-Zero formula. With bare-bones mechanics and production values, it still is one of the most enjoyable Wii U game available on the eShop.
-
Dec 8, 2015Fast Racing Neo is a great replacement for F-Zero on Wii U. Its type of arcade racing is not very common these days.
-
Pelit (Finland)Mar 3, 2016Although a bit clinical, succeeds in being a nice little racing game. [Feb 2016]
-
CD-ActionMar 4, 2016All those who can’t get over the fact that Nintendo forgot about F-Zero can now play a really decent indie substitute. The same goes for all of you who miss Wipeout. [02/2016, p.63]
-
Power UnlimitedJan 27, 2016F-Zero GX for the GameCube brought the genre of futuristic racers to perfection, and Shin’en only added to its gameplay with Fast Racing NEO. The ‘wow’ factor is abundantly present – not bad for a download-only game with a price tag of 15 bucks. [feb. 2016 / page 066]
-
Dec 20, 2015Thanks to its focus on speed and tough gameplay, Fast Racing Neo is a love letter to the futuristic racing genre. It might not be as high quality as F-Zero and Wipeout, but it still is a very challenging indiegame with a good price.
-
Dec 11, 2015Fast Racing Neo comes out of nowhere - it's an inexpensive and extremely fast futuristic racing game with old fashioned charm and new ideas.
-
Dec 11, 2015Who would have thought, that the fastest racer around would not be on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 but on Wii U? This modern rendition of the F-Zero principle is not original in any form, but awesome fun nonetheless.
-
Dec 8, 2015FAST Racing Neo is easily a must own title for the Wii U, and arguably one of the best 3rd party games on the system.
-
Dec 8, 2015Fans of those types of racing games will be in awe of what Shin’en has accomplished here. I know it is cliché to say, but please give this team the rights to make a new F-Zero game. Fast Racing NEO is the closest and best thing to happen to the genre in years.
-
Jan 7, 2016Fast Racing NEO wears its F-Zero inspiration on its sleeve, and manages to fill the void left by that series conspicuous absence. As its name suggests its fast, but it's also clever, beautifully designed, challenging, and above all, fun.
-
Dec 20, 2015Fast Racing Neo has its futuristic racing heart in the right place. It looks great, it is superfast and offers good tracks. Another way of enjoying this awesome game is to play the multiplayer.
-
Jan 20, 2016Among the best titles on the Nintendo E-Shop, without a doubt, Fast Racing Neo is a fast (duh) and tight racer that nostalgic gamers will definitely liked. Especially those that loved the F-Zero and Wipeout series.
-
Jan 6, 2016A grueling, rewarding racer. The temptation to chuck a controller across the room after instantly jumping from first to last will likely strike a handful of times, and it's a bit thin on customization options, but when all of its high notes line up, Fast Racing Neo is an exhilarating, devilishly grueling game that absolutely pulses with energy.
-
Jan 6, 2016FAST Racing Neo isn't a great game merely because the genre is lacking, it actually stands out on its own merits as a fantastic racer and a must buy for anyone who has been waiting years for a new game from the F-Zero or WipEout mould.
-
Dec 29, 2015This is a great game to fill the void left by absent franchises such as F-Zero and WipeOut. While sober with its mechanics, it tries to innovate a little bit with the color changing system that adds another layer of gameplay to the already challenging racing tracks.
-
Dec 16, 2015Fast Racing Neo isn’t F-Zero, nor is it Wipeout, and it’s definitely not Ikaruga. It is, however, a shining example of futuristic racing that’ll help fill a void in Nintendo’s Wii U catalogue. While its difficulty level may not be as welcoming as most modern gamers are used to, those who persevere will discover a pure racing experience that manages to retain its own identity.
-
Dec 13, 2015Shin’en did a spectacular job creating a beautiful, fun high-speed racer that filled a huge void on Wii U.
-
Dec 11, 2015Its color-coded racing improves upon the F-Zero formula, and even if the mutiplayer fails to meet its potential, FAST Racing NEO is challenging and riveting enough to keep players busy for a long while, whether driving solo or with friends.
-
Dec 9, 2015FAST Racing NEO is an impressive racing game that requires a lot out of its players, as a lack of customizable controls, and the steep learning curve really limits the title's accessibility. If you're down for a challenge, though, then step right up.
-
Dec 9, 2015It's not perfect, but it's fun, well-designed and reasonably priced, so it's a great choice while we wait for F-Zero to come back.
-
Dec 8, 2015FAST Racing Neo is a simple game, its roots clearly planted in a simpler time. It's good, honest, fast, arcade fun, priced perfectly to match its ambitions.
-
Dec 8, 2015Though the steep difficulty may make it less accessible to some gamers, FAST Racing Neo looks fantastic and performs very well in action, making this one game to not let race past you.
-
Dec 23, 2015FAST Racing Neo is possibly one the best racing games on the console.
-
Dec 17, 2015Fast Neo Racing is a pretty game with solid racing and a fantastic sense of speed. It’s a sparse experience without much to engage you outside of straightforward racing, but works as a quality reminder of the high-speed sci-fi racing genre that we thought had been forgotten.
-
Dec 8, 2015It won’t be for everyone, but this is a brutal and unwavering assault on the senses, made for the most hardcore of racing fans.
-
Games Master UKFeb 26, 2016Forsaking weapons for furiously fast racing, this is a worthy stand-in - not usurper - to F-Zero GX. [Feb 2016, p.80]
-
Dec 18, 2015With Fast Racing Neo, Shin'en signs a good playable tribute to F-Zero. Even if it has some flaws, it's a perfect occasion for all the fans to have good speed sensations before the master comes back in a modern Nintendo console near you.
-
Dec 14, 2015It's a futuristic racer for gamers who are serious about their racing, even when we hit the future at over 300 miles per hour.
-
Dec 8, 2015FAST Racing NEO is definitely a good racing game for Wii U that tests players' skills with a strange, and not customizable, control setting. Buy it only if you love challenges and zero-g racing games.
-
Dec 8, 2015It certainly looks the part, but although this never plays quite as well as F-Zero GX it’s close enough that most fans will forgive its lack of refinement.
-
Edge MagazineFeb 16, 2016Even at maximum velocity it fails to stir the blood like the games to which it's most indebted. [Feb 2016, p.120]
