In many ways though crafted world falls short of the usual nintendo glory. The game is not terrible by any means, but Yoshi games in the future have a lot to learn.

Yoshi is as love-able as ever in crafted world, but his charm only goes so far. That being said, everything in crafted world is love-able; and even though I love the artstyle in crafted world, I do hope yoshi is done with cardboard and yarn for now.

What hurts crafted world more than anything is the games scope. Its very apparent that the developers were trying to make a cute yoshi game and nothing else. I'm a believer in developers aiming high on games and I just want more from yoshi. The yarn and cardboard aesthetics are cute but thats about it.

The game has virtually no challenge. Sure you won't beat this game without dying, but the game is in no way trying to be punishing. I don't want dark souls yoshi, but these levels— while fun and creative— lack in challenge.

Yoshi is an awesome character, one of many nintendo fans favorites. We can only hope the developers aim higher with the next yoshi game instead of giving more of the same.

Overly simplistic. Other Yoshi titles display challenging platforming and enthusiastic level design, where Crafted World is tediously linear, unexciting, uninspired. The art design is excellent and adorable, as always, but the game leaves me pining for Wooly World's or Yoshi's Island's (SNES, DS titles even) challenge and wonder.

I almost feel like I'm having déjà vu right now: I mentioned this previously in my review of "Yoshi's Woolly World," but check this out: that game was announced (in 2013), was later a no-show at an E3 (also in 2013), but despite skepticism resurfaced (in 2014) and finally saw release two years after it was initially announced (it came out in 2015). Now for "Yoshi's Crafted World," it was announced (in 2017), was later a no-show at an E3 (in 2018), but despite skepticism resurfaced (also in 2018) and finally saw release two years after it was initially announced (it came out this year, 2019). Kinda bizarre, huh? But there's something else that these two games have in common: that all the wait for them and all the questions of "where did they go?" only kind of dampened the final game.
"Yoshi's Crafted World" is far from being a bad game: after all, it's an extremely adorable and visually beautiful platformer. It's light, colorful, and extremely charming. The visuals are creative, the soundtrack is lovely, and the game succeeds at just being a nice, feel-good platformer. It's easy to get into, it controls well, tries to do something kind of different (with the whole "switching of perspectives" thing), and this amounts to what is a very relaxing game. Oh, and side note, as someone that absolutely loves Poochy and thinks he's such an adorable character, you'll be seeing him and his pups a lot in the game, which is awesome.
Unfortunately, this leads to one of my many problems with the game: it's almost too relaxed and too easy, and while "Yoshi" games are never the most difficult, it often felt like the game just didn't care about trying to challenge you. Furthermore, the game doesn't quite use the new ideas and switched perspectives as strongly as it could've, leading to an experience that, to me, felt a bit too same-y compared to "Yoshi's Woolly World." There were several points where I'd forgotten I was playing a different game, and I thought I was just playing a Switch port of "Woolly World." And furthermore, it's kind of disappointing to me that the level design doesn't really start getting interesting until it's too late in the game. By the time we get into the game's more interesting levels, we're on the last world, and that's just kinda unfortunate.
All in all, as a Nintendo fan, I'm glad to see that critics and audiences are enjoying "Yoshi's Crafted World." I'm happy to see that it's selling well, and that it's doing its part to help contribute to the Switch's success. I just wish I could enjoy the game in the same way that others have. It's a nice, decent experience, but this is another situation where the long wait and speculation led to heightened expectations that the finished product just couldn't quite match. If you're a hardcore "Yoshi" fan or if you have kids, it will certainly be a great time. For me? It was just fine. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible, just an okay little adventure with the iconic green dinosaur.

It is a user-friendly game with many creative ideas and concept. It is based on shooting in the background and just throwing eggs. It has got wonderful graphics. BUT there are only 20 soundtracks. Most of them are a modified forms of the main track. And you canˋt say: You just have to play it as simple as it is. But all in all it´s a good game.

After I finished New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, I was looking for another pure Nintendo platformer. Yoshi brought the cute aspect with a nice twist of exploration, but I feels so easy and childish that I feel like giving up on it after less than 3 hours of gaming. I would recommend the game to children but not to teens or adults, even not to the most Yoshi-fans or nostalgic ones.

A simple, pleasant, relaxing platformer. This one is better than more praised platformer titles for unwinding. There are still all elements you would expect like looking for secrets or experiencing alternate versions of the levels

A couple of levels into this game I thought it was delightful. The effect wore off after about five or six chapters. The music and Yoshi's sound effects being repetitive contribute to that. The gameplay itself is not really shocking either. The graphics and the chill art style are cool, but maybe like "play a chapter every once in a while during a mellow high" kind of cool.

It's a nice looking game but that doesn't make up for the boring collectathon gameplay. There's no flow, you literally just have to check everywhere for collectibles and if you fail a timed challenge you have to die to do it over. Same with DK tropical freeze, the amazing game play of the originals is forgotten.

The soundtrack it self is a annoying and makes you wanna turn off the volume completely. At least the level design still shows it self by having good backtracking segments and terrible ones, the good one is that you basically go to older levels but this time you have to find the missing dogs but here is the catch it’s backwards and it works amazingly. However the terrible ones are where you go back to the levels and find some stupid useless things to get stupid rewards which mean nothing. At least the bosses are actually really damn good, also the story is simple and funny. Yoshi’s Crafted World tries to be unique and it does with it’s awesome levels and gameplay, but has big issues like The soundtrack and how many times you have to go back to a level to complete so useless quest, overall a great 2D platfromer that is unique and creative. My son wanted a game and at the time not much has been released so here we are.
The game has a cute aesthetic and jingles that put a smile on your face. I like how you can choose which colour Yoshi can go adventuring with.

The main issue is the repetition of the stages. To get all the flowers in the level you will need to get special items. Instead of giving you a list of the special items in one level in one shot, you will have to get the item, return the item and go through the stage AGAIN to get the next item. Worst part is some items are unfairly hidden and a chore to find.

Yoshi's Crafted World is a fine game that does everything right, albeit predictable. There are no interesting mechanics that stand out to define this is a great Yoshi game. The levels are uninspired and a lot of the game feels like padding. Still, the game is enjoyable, just not great.

It’s not like they were just a few bad things here and there. They take up a massive chunk of the game, meaning, I strongly disliked a massive chunk of it. That really takes away from the enjoyment of the game. The kamek fight was hard to beat, not because it was challenging, but because it was annoying. The times where you can hit kamek with an egg are so short and annoying. How do you expect me to hit him when massive pencils are falling down from the sky taking up a lot of the screen and my egg aimer is slow and terrible all without taking damage. Poor design. Half of this game was fun, half of it sucked. Expand

This is an average Yoshi game with some charms, however, it lacks music and what you learn early in each level doesn't really carry over to the next worlds and the game doesn't feel very unique. The art is great and the game is fairly easy. I do think kids would enjoy but for playing many Yoshi games, this is probably not my most favorite one.

Also the progression system is fair regarding the flowers. It's not like in other Mario games, where you really need to grind for those. The flowers are the equivalent to stars/suns in other mario games, which you need to collect to be able to progress.
Some levels are 'special levels', where you have different challenges, like riding a dino, destroy things, or jumping through rings. They are fun.
The co-op multiplayer was not that good. You stand in each other's way all the time.
All in all it is an okay game, for adults it's like one of dozens games you have already played.

This game is okay, at best.

Visually: It looks gorgeous. That's the absolute best part of the game.
Audio: It's repetitive and kind of boring.
Gameplay: It's a very short game that's way too easy for anyone that has ever played ANY game before.
Overall: It's a suitable game for very young children, but not for any experienced gamer (even if you're a big Yoshi fan such as myself).

If you're a fan of the old Yoshi's Island and maybe Wooly World, you're gonna be disappointed. This one is definitely made for children between 6-10 years old. Yoshi’s Crafted World is a decent platformer that is fun to go through, despite its minor hiccups. How players can approach this game depends on either desiring to reach the end of it or collecting everything to completion. The game won’t raise the bar, but it will remind you that it is a harmless artsy platformer starring everyone’s favorite rideable green dinosaur.

Yoshi’s Crafted World doesn’t bring anything new to the formula — everything is lifted from other arcade games and previous Yoshi’s adventures. Still, it never gets boring.
