    +Characters don't feel one-dimensional and there's lots of focus on the group and their personal struggles, wich is something that the previous games also had but not to the same extend and I'm glad to see more of it here.

    +Combat is advanced and complex and gives you seemingly infinite options to set-up your party. It's fun but din't go in this game thinking it's a full on action-JRPG cuz it's not. It's more of a tactical/strategy JRPG except it's not turned based.

    +Music is peak as usual.

    +The areas look dope and are fun to explore, tho don't go in this game thinking it's an open-world game like BOTW, cuz it's simply not that and not trying to be that.

    +The graphics are better than ever. Great artstyle with great graphics (For the Switch, at least)

    -The areas are very large (especially in the later chapters) but unlike in Xenoblade X, there's no sprint button wich this game could use for sure.

    -When you're fighting in a small area with lots of enemies at once the game becomes hard to follow visually. Now yes, there is an indicator showing your position relative to the enemy you're targeting but it's still a mess sometimes. I feel like they should give us the option to disable damage and healing numbers since, when you think about it, you don't really need them. Sure it's good to compare the damage output of your party members n' stuff but you can already see all the stats in the character menu so just give us the option to turn of all these damage/healing numbers so that my screen doesn't look so bloated in crowded fights.

    -The dialoge isn't bad but sometimes it feels like the characters point out pretty obvious things. Mainly early game.

    -This is not the dev's fault but sometimes I had frame rate drops in ceetain areas. This is just a Switch issue, not a Xenoblade issue.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The third game in one of my favourite games definitely doesn't disappoint in its world, premise, combat, exploration and some of the heavy story moments. The world is very detained and vast and the side quests that fill it are very fun now compared to some of the other games. The story is very good with both the ending of chapter 5 and the ending of the game hit very hard with a really good romance built between the 2 main characters. However, it left some considerable holes which I would have liked to see get an explanation. Overall I would say I still enjoy the satisfaction of learning about XC2's lore more but every other element is better in XC3 making this game a solid 9.5/10 for me. (edit im now raising it up to a 10 because future redeemed gave me basically all i wanted to tie up the loose ends of this game, definitely a must play) Expand

    This was my first Xenoblade game, and naturally I was concerned that I wouldn't "get" everything. To my delight, it took away 0 from my experience. I'm sure there are many things players of the previous games would've taken away that I may have missed, but overall for my first Xenoblade game it was great. I'm gonna try and break it down below.

    Gameplay: I'm a fan of JRPG's and typically prefer turn-based style games (Dragon Quest, Persona, etc.), to my delight I actually did enjoy the combat here, far more than I thought I would in fact. I won't lie, around my 80th hour in the game, it started to feel a tad bit tedious but I think that is probably natural after so many hours. It is pretty fun and complex for how outwardly simple it seems, a ton of customization adds to the fun, it can be a bit daunting, but can be sorted with an auto-build if you are overwhelmed by all the choices. (My biggest complaint is that gold is useless and I wish there was a better bartering system for items that don't have to do with Nopon coins)

    Story: The story was nothing special, but it was done very well for what it was. I liked the characters, I though a lot of the side story's added a lot to the characters personalities. The relationships between the partners was something I really enjoyed watching develop. Once I got to the final boss battle, I felt "done" with the game. I had put 99 hours in and I was ready for it to be over, and I think it ended fairly well. Overall, the story is pretty predictable, but when put together with everything else, it more than did it's job.

    Graphics: I think people criticizing what this game looks like forget what its being run on. I almost find it impossible that this game is being run as smoothly as it is on a Nintendo Switch. I'm not really sure what kind of witchcraft Monolith is using over there, but a game this big, with as much going on as there is, running as well as it does on this console? Bravo. Game looks good, especially considering what it's on.

    Overall: In closing, I really enjoyed the game and would 100% recommend it to anybody looking to get into the series. I give it an 8 only because it feels like by the end I just kind of wanted to be "done" with the game. The last 3-5 hours or so felt like a bit of a slog to me, more so than my favorite JRPG's, but still, any game you can get an enjoyable 85+ hours out of is doing A LOT right. Combat and exploration for a completionist like my self got a little tedious at the end, and that's really all the complaints I have. It is a 100% recommend for anyone interested.

    the game world is HUGE and varied, featuring locations from past games mashed together in a wonderful and unique world, filled to the brim with side quests, easter eggs and usefull items, something tgìhat was directly taken (and in many ways improved) from xc x;
    side characters are way more intresting then many of the non-main cast characters in the other entries of the series (case and point, Ethel and Cammuravi);
    the graphics look fantastic, even tough the switch's limitations hold them back;
    the character designs look fantastic, giving you a sense of the general character with just the siluette. also long gone are the days of BIG BOBBA from xc 2, for better or for worst;
    the combat feels responsive and unique, it takes the best aspects from every entry so far and expands upon it, while giving it its own spin;
    last but not least, the story is **** AMAZING and i think it's the best one so far and by a pretty significant ammount.

    overall, i think it's a masterpice worth the price of 60 euros and then some more.

I would personally advise playing the first two games before this one, but there is still more than enough fantastic original content for anyone to enjoy, even if they have no prior experience with the series.
    To give a bit of context, I played DE and 2 back in 2020 and loved them both. They both have flaws that I can acknowledge, but the core experiences are more than enough to make up for these flaws and make the games very enjoyable. The same is true here, but even more so. The gameplay is the strongest we've seen in the series, combining the best aspects of 1 and 2's combat while taking out the flaws that dragged them down. I never got tired of battles, even after putting over 140 hours into this game (which is more than I put into DE after 2 playthroughs). It's also the most fun I have ever had exploring a game's world. It's significantly bigger than those of the first two, but each corner of this world has something for you to do or find. Whether it be a secret area, unique monster, container, etc, you are always rewarded for exploring off the beaten path. Combine this with the excellent combat, and you have a recipe for a game that will keep you hooked beginning to end and plenty after.
    The story may not quite be on par with the first game (my opinion might change later though), but it is still an engaging, thought-provoking wild ride that will make you laugh, cry, and want to keep playing more. However, the actual plot isn't the best part of the story: it's the characters and world. All of the characters are likeable and well developed, giving us the strongest main cast in the series (my personal favorites are Taion and Eunie). Their interactions are always a treat, and some of the best parts of the story are when characters are just talking or goofing around. Seeing the party grow to like each other and discover more about themselves is a joy, and, by the end, you will have grown to appreciate each and every one of them. The world building is spectacular, completely immersing you and making you feel like you're living right alongside them. It has a lot of unique rules and concepts, but all of them are properly explained in a way that feels natural and not overly expositional. Additionally, all of these rules and concepts are expertly applied to the story and accentuate the themes. Almost everything has some importance to the plot, making the entire experience synthesize together perfectly.
    Now, the game does have a few flaws. First, it was recently discovered that cooking does literally nothing. This will almost certainly be patched later, but if you're reading this before then, don't waste your ingredients and Nopon Coins. The tutorials are a massive improvement on 2's, which didn't explain everything to the player, were cryptic, and even downright misleading. However, 3 might have overcorrected a bit, since some of the tutorials feel kinda handholdy, particularly the bonus XP and accessory tutorials. However, I'd rather have a game explain too much than not enough, so it's mostly fine. Someone who's unfamiliar with the series might be put off by the unique accents or repeated voice lines (yes, Eunie, we know Lanz wants something a bit meatier). Personally, I find that it only adds to the charm of the series, but I would understand if others found it a bit grating. It's just something to be aware of. Lastly, the game can give you way too much experience at times, so I would advise saving most of your bonus XP until you absolutely need it. That way, you should hopefully be on par with most of the main story bosses while still being able to do some side quests. Additionally, if you feel the game is getting a little too easy, you can always switch to hard mode. I think hard mode is still completely manageable if you have a good understanding of the mechanics, and you can always switch back if you find it to be too difficult.
    However, these flaws are extremely minor. Most players might not even notice these things, and the game is so good that it's easy to forget that these flaws even exist. This is MonolithSoft's masterpiece, and is a game that I would tell just about anyone to play. Whether this is your first game in the series or you've been playing them ever since the original on the Wii, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will almost surely keep you engaged and joyful the whole way through. It's my personal game of the year, and I hope it at least gets nominated for something at this year's Game Awards. Monolith have had to work so hard to get to this point, and they deserve all of the praise and recognition that they get.

    la banda sonora es inmejorable y las animaciones logran un excelente avance aunque si se quedan cortas por momentos, por no mencionar el vasto mundo abierto que se siente vivo como ya quisiera la franquicia de Pokémon.

Unfortunately, the game actively punishes you for preparing for tough fights by locking experience to classes when you are over 5 levels than the enemy you're fight. This means the game is also punishing you for doing quests, since doing all the quests as they come up makes you roughly 10 levels over the monsters you face while doing said quests.

    The story is mid at best and insulting at worst. It feels like it was written by three very distinct individuals. The first is an industry veteran who knows what they're doing. When they're writing, the story well written, concise, and you can really understand who each characters is.
    The second writer is a college grad who hasn't quite kicked the habit they teach you in school to write a 5 page essay where 4 paragraphs is more than enough. This writer breaks the show don't tell rule in the most infuriating way. They will show you, tell you, then make the characters have a conversation going in depth on what they just experience or learned and then have the characters act like this is all new information when it comes up again. Never before has my controller fallen asleep because a cutscene was going on too long. Never before have I skipped cutscenes on the first viewing because i already know everything that happens in the cutscene from the first 5 second while they insist it needs 30 more minutes of cutscene to really drive the point home.
    The Third Writer is a twitter blogger. They care more for creating artificial drama than keeping character consistency. Characters will spontaneously break character, act stupid, or act stubborn for the sake of adding extra drama or conflict when the story already has plenty of both to work off of.
    The discrepancy between these three writing styles is such a glaring issue to the point that im almost convinced the first writer had made the prefect story for this but it wasn't long enough for investors so they hired writers two and three to stretch the play time and consequently ruin the story. The game tries to mix the themes of the first two games to great effect until the second writer beats the point to death and the third writer retcons it at the last second.

    In conclusion, if you want to play it for the gameplay, go ahead and just try not to over-level. if you you want a compelling well written story, just play the last two because you're not going to find that with this one.

    Funnily enough Xenoblade 3 was the game that introduced me to the series. I had heard so many good things about the other Xenoblade games in the past but had never decided to attempt the series until 3 came out. I enjoyed the story and the gameplay so much that it pushed me to play the other games in the series and I have completely fallen in love with these games. This game is by far the best in the series though and you can tell that Monolith did their best to refine everything the best they could for this entry. From majorly improved combat to the great skill tree to the amazing and emotional captivating story. This game managed to keep me entertained and on the edge of my seat for the full 95 hours it took me to complete the main story, the hero quests, and a large amount of the side quests. I'm looking forward to jumping into the DLC very soon. This masterpiece of a game truly changed my view on JRPGs as a whole and opened my eyes to what is now my favorite series of games. I highly recommend it to everyone! Expand

    Un jeu exceptionnelle qui vient conclure la saga. Surtout avec le DLC. Gameplay très poussé et DA de folie. Musique sublime, je suis fan !

    I started my Xenoblade journey back in 2020 during lockdown. Since then I have been obsessed with this franchise! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was perfection. Looking forward to seeing what Monolith Soft plan next

    An incredible follow up to the series that takes the best elements of the first 2 games to create something truly magnificent. 10/10.

    Ties the series perfectly up with its overwhelmingly great soundtrack and complex combat system. It's world is as big as an MMORPG.

    The weakness of the game is the one switch plattform itself: the graphics.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played and finished both XB1 and XB2 and really enjoyed both. So I thought there was no way XB3 could fail. Unfortunately XB3 made several design and story decisions that did not captivate me.

    First was the military theme, just didn't enjoy that aspect of it. XB games are more fun and interesting when they have a more homey or medieval theme. Could just be me that feels that way, I don't know.

    I also didn't like the whiny lead character Noah. So weak. I mean I didn't like Rex that much either at first but at least he was tenacious so I had to give him respect for that - and eventually Rex won me over. Noah just wants to talk about emotions the whole time and I want to roll my eyes.

    Also the UI felt like a step backwards, the combat also wasn't better than XB2, the villains were stupid, and the environments seemed dark and ugly. Not an enjoyable universe to be in at all. Somehow they did the impossible and released a terrible XB game.

    Absolutely amazing game that blew my expectations out of the water. The story had me griped the whole time and the detailed combat system was extremely fun to delve into. I don’t think I would have enjoyed the game so thoroughly if I hadn’t played xenoblade 1 and 2 before hand but it can still be enjoyed without playing them. Almost forgot to mention the music. That was honestly (as usual with xenoblade) one of the best parts. I also absolutely loved the ending. People who didn’t like it because it “goes against the message” or because it “didn’t make sense” I’m fairly certain were not paying attention when playing the game. It was a perfect end which was shown to be the characters aims from the start of the game. Overall this is my opinion that this is a great game, I didn’t get bored once even in the sections where there wasn’t any action. Truely a masterpiece. Expand

    Rpg with an addictive combat system and a story that keeps you hooked on the screen for most of its development. The game is unbeatable until it reaches a certain point in the story, where it feels unnecessarily lengthened and the climax that had been worked on throughout the game deflates. Easily my favorite game so far. Relatable, good characters. Very nice battle system. Easy to understand game mechanics with the option of a) re-viewing tutorial or b) using the "training" option. The story is awesome. I'm absolutely invested. It made me cry a couple of times already..

    + Soundtrack is nice, though it still pales in comparison to XC1, XC2 and even XCX
    + World and enemy design are exactly what you would expect from a Xenoblade title
    - Storytelling and dialogue is absolute drivel that makes no sense - Protagonists and villains alike are utterly unlikeable - Character class systems are too malleable, making every character play the same - Chain attack

    Phenomenal. Some of the story beats here are among the strongest in the series, and the gameplay is once again the best yet. Only thing holding it back from a 10 is a lack of development to some story beats, and a pretty unpleasant final boss battle.

    A masterpiece.

    I finished the game and it was wonderful from start to finish. Touching moments. A beautiful soundtrack. Fluid gameplay. I prefer this style of controls and character advancement over Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (XC2). XC2 was ackward and clunky. XC3 was exquisite. People giving this a zero are just upset Mommy wont buy them a Switch. I’d also recommend the Ys series for

    I've been playing video games since the days of Final Fantasy 1, and I've seen a lot of them come and go. But Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is one of the best I've ever played. The story is gripping, the characters are memorable, and the world is absolutely stunning. I could spend hours just exploring the different areas and taking in the sights.

    Ultimately, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 represents the pinnacle of the series, both gameplay-wise and narratively. The characters are another highlight of the game. They are well-drawn, with only a small amount of formulaicness. [Issue#321]

    I began XC3 knowing I'd enjoy it because of the fun I had with the previous games. What I didn't expect was for this to become one of my favorite JPRGs of all-time! With its engaging open world, engrossing combat system, loveable characters and gripping story, this game is a masterpiece of the genre! [Issue #62 – November/December 2022, p. 67]

    Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a clear improvement over its predecessors in almost every way. It streamlines so much and avoids past pitfalls, though there’s still work to be done in terms of balancing the difficulty. There’s a grounded story here with a solid cast of characters, and the basic plot is much easier to digest. The world design exceeds past efforts with ease, and the implementation of Hero Quests is a game changer. While the devs have done an admirable job making the battle system easier to grasp, it feels like the series has fully explored and exhausted these core combat mechanics, signaling it’s time for the next game to change things up. As a whole, it stands as a phenomenal RPG with a one-of-a-kind sense of exploration you can’t find anywhere else.
