Aug 16, 2017Pretty good retro. The start was REALLY REALLY rocky and almost put me off. I would rework the beginning part. Start would score 0 / 10.
Rest of the actual game is great, metroidvia game feel to it. -

Sep 24, 2019Graphics were what catched me in this strange web. But it's such poorly balanced game, that i had little fun playing it. What kept me playing was the price I paid for the game and graphics :x but i guess it's not enough

Dec 30, 2020Fun game the only downside side in my opinions is that the controls needed to be a bit tighter.

Nintendo Force MagazineJun 23, 2017This may be the most beautiful hand-drawn 2D game I've ever played, and I'd frequently stop while playing just to marvel at the mastery of how each scene was reworked. [Issue #28 – July/August 2017, p. 20]

CD-ActionJun 7, 2017After you get used to some crudeness related to the fact that the original is 28 years old, you’ll notice that is hasn’t aged that much. What’s more, visuals were revamped so skillfully that The Dragon’s Trap is one of the prettiest games released this year. [06/2017, p.54]

May 26, 2017Wonder Boy is full of wistful retro charm, and an absolutely essential purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
