Vertical Strike is a super low budget and cheap little game, designed to give fans of the occasional dogfight a quick rush. Thanks to its tight and efficient mechanics, and the steady and enjoyable approach that it has to difficulty escalation, it achieves what it sets out to. Nothing more, and nothing less.

Vertical Strike is a surprisingly fun and replayable air combat sim, and a solid fit in any Nintendo Switch library. This ain't Ace Combat,Vertical Strike is a surprisingly fun and replayable air combat sim, and a solid fit in any Nintendo Switch library. This ain't Ace Combat, but it is a nice little time-killer at a good price. There are just two aircraft and a handful of missiles from which you can choose, and only two modes -- dogfight and anti-ship -- but it's all done very well and makes for a few hours of entertainment.
