It feels really, really good playing Velocity 2X, whether you fly the teleporting spaceship, or run with the teleporting heroine - and all the while a pretty catchy set of tunes bop along. On the… not so bright side, though, the action can get a tad repetitive, and, somehow, this heavy focus on speed-running sort of damages what seems like the groundwork for a much more meatier experience.

Even by completing most levels earning most of the achievements, when you reach the last ones they are blocked because you don't have sufficient XP. I don't get the point of having to repeat all levels 15 times to have aaalll the XP, in order to finish the game. I unfortunately could not finish the game because I refuse to play the same levels over and over again.
In summary, a very bad decission of the developers that spoils an otherwise outstanding game.

Velocity 2X zwingt einen schnell zu denken, es läuft und läuft. Ein Speedrun für "Casuals".

Being equal parts side scroller, schmups and puzzler is quite the unique combination and it all works and mixes amazingly. The side scrolling bits feel amazing, some of the most responsive controls I've felt. I'm used to coming to my first platforming bit and think "alright how is this going to feel..", but no worries there. Gorgeous graphics (love Kai's facial expressions in the cutscenes) even if the enemies are quite limited and repetitive. Absolutely stellar soundtrack that can turn the game into a bit of a rhythm game as well when replaying levels with more skill and knowledge.

A real gem of a game!
