An all-new adventure x daily life RPG from SQUARE ENIX, created by the development team that worked on OCTOPATH TRAVELER and BRAVELY DEFAULT.

    ■Story
In the year 211 of the Imperial Era, a new continent was discovered. Explore its every last corner as a settler of Antoecia, while living your life to the fullest in the city of Erebia.

    ■Features
    • Character growth through everyday work
VARIOUS DAYLIFE features over 20 job classes and more than 100 types of work for those jobs to perform. Since you’ll be able to increase your strength through physical labor or improve your magic with more mentally taxing tasks, you can shape your character how you see fit depending on your choice of work.

    • Overcome dungeons with skilled management
Choose what limited rations, items and camping gear you can pack in your bags as you leave the safety of the city to confront the unknown. You'll battle monsters, bad weather, and food spoilage out on the various frontiers of Antoecia. When the going gets tough, will you press onward, or retreat to explore another day?
You’ll have to make these kinds of decisions as you trailblaze a way across the continent, where none have trod before.

    • Innovative Battle System – The Three CHAs
Introducing a twist to the traditional job-and-ability, turn-based battle, with a unique system that relies heavily on working together with your allies. CHANGE your foes' conditions, build up a CHAIN of attacks and seize your CHANCE at inflicting heavy damage!

It's a relaxing and simple game with a peaceful narrative. On the other hand, this permeates a casual delivery without much distinction, with mechanics and character construction that could be considered flat. Various Daylife is a good installment for your cell phone, but the jump to Nintendo Switch was too big for it.

Various Daylife is held back by its mobile game nature and too many wrong choices that transform the game in a series of jobs and actions that no one would really love to do.

Various Daylife is an RPG originally designed for mobiles with the intention of being played for short periods of time. It has well-designed battle mechanics, and despite trying to provoke a sense of routine, players with little patience for casual systems will leave it after a couple of hours.

With a boring gameplay loop and a wasted combat system, Various Daylife proves that porting games from mobile to console isn't always a good idea.

Various Daylife is the epitome of an experimental RPG. This is the kind of game that you’ll have a much better time with if you limit yourself to only fifteen minutes or maybe half an hour a day. Stay within that time frame, and the daily stat management, quick quest runs, and the simple class system will just about hit the spot. Play for much longer, and you’ll soon realize how relatively shallow the gameplay loop really is. We’d give this one a very light recommendation for anyone who’s obsessed with the work of Team Asano or for those who want a simple and light RPG for their Switch—if neither of those describes you, you’re not missing much by choosing to pass.

For basically a text based adventure game there is so much lag between each screen that it is incredibly infuriating to play. I got the game before any reviews were out, without knowing what the gameplay was like. FYI, apparently this game is a port from mobile. Idk what the other platforms are like, but this is a bad port. Cannot recommend. Besides the lag, the actual gameplay is lackluster. Very boring. Not much to do except click the work option that gives the most experience each day. Expand
