Good port from the same phenomenal company that ported (S)Witcher 3 to the Switch. Pretty good AA atmospheric game with a lot of branching paths and great RPG elements. Framerate is surprisingly relatively smooth and consistent compared to the console releases. The only complaints I have are the inability to reverse the A/B button (you were able to do this in (S)Witcher 3) and the game will pause sometimes in the middle of gameplay to load for a couple seconds with a brief loading screen. This was at seemingly random times and a bit annoying. Not an issue for me, but some people might find it hard to read the text on handheld, especially switch lite. There's an option to increase subtitle font size but no menu/notes/books/HUD etc.. Hopefully these things can be patched if enough people have issues with them. Finally, at release this game is kind of expensive ($50 at release) since it has been out on other systems for a year now ($14 on sale on PS store). But that's just nintendo tax and also probably the cost of porting it. Luckily switch games have a solid resale value and don't depreciate a lot. Expand

I went through this game twice upon its initial release on pc and absolutely loved it ! Saber interactive have worked miracles porting this to the switch , there are of course visual cut backs but the game retains its visual identity and is an absolute gem .

The combat does get a little boring after a while but the story, world and the character interactions kept me intrigued. Also playing it during a pandemic.

This is quite a great game and a great port.
We get some distracting annoying loading screens, but this is a great game to be played on portable mode where I play the most.
Is such a great way to play this titles.

I really enjoyed the game play and the story, is easy to understand. You can choose how to spend your experience points: learn new attacks or defensive moves; improve the ones that you already learned or increase your life and resistance points. On the down side, the graphics are just OK, nothing incredible and the battles aren't very difficult to win, so it's not a very complicated game.

I am reallly into this game i dont want to beat it. i know that sounds crazy but its just a fun well done game. The story is well done along with the combat and controls. Took a few min to get used to with the RPG elements, but once i picked it up it was alot of fun from there. Looks great and has a great errie feel to it.

If you’re looking for a game on the go that’ll last you a few dozen hours (if you’re the completionist type), Vampyr delivers that. But that also means spending a few dozen hours with a game that’s not particularly interesting, and I don’t know why you’d want to bother with that.

The port appears to be faithful to the original 2018 game, so if you enjoyed your time with that, London is yours to explore on the go. But I would be hesitant to recommend this game to most people, especially to those who expect a Life Is Strange-like experience from Dontnod. That being said, if a stale combat experience wouldn’t distract you from a strong narrative or if you are especially fascinated by the vampire aesthetic and its attached dilemmas, Vampyr might just be worth sinking your teeth into on Nintendo Switch.
