Sep 11, 2020Poor framerate and controller lag still haunt this game since release. It doesn’t bode well that it’s version 0.4 and we haven’t gotten one update since that day one patch. Game seems like it could be fun but I highly recommend pc, ps4, or Xbox for a more fluid experience. Seems this was a quick release for cash and zero support. It is not getting any better I’m sure.

Nov 1, 2019Fix the combat and you've got a very good game here. Otherwise, Vampyr is a tedious slog through some amazing environments, coupled with poorly realized button-mashing and wayfinding that borders on cruelty. The Switch version holds up well, but the source material wasn't strong enough to warrant a port in the first place.

Jan 4, 2020The port is very shaky... in the five hours I’ve played so far, it Has crashed multiple times, loads at inopportune moments, and looks a bit fuzzy. But it’s still the whole game, and the story and dialogue is great. Recommended if you play on easy and just enjoy it as more of a visual novel.

Jan 31, 2022this game is on the fence for me. it does have a great story, but the graphics on the switch port is just ps1 quality. the graphics ruins the fun the game has in the story as everyone looks like a boiled potato. i expected more from the port as it was done by the same people who did the witcher 3 port for switch, and the graphics looked amazing. Buy it for the story, and nothing else

Jun 1, 2020If you’re looking for a game on the go that’ll last you a few dozen hours (if you’re the completionist type), Vampyr delivers that. But that also means spending a few dozen hours with a game that’s not particularly interesting, and I don’t know why you’d want to bother with that.

Dec 18, 2019The port appears to be faithful to the original 2018 game, so if you enjoyed your time with that, London is yours to explore on the go. But I would be hesitant to recommend this game to most people, especially to those who expect a Life Is Strange-like experience from Dontnod. That being said, if a stale combat experience wouldn’t distract you from a strong narrative or if you are especially fascinated by the vampire aesthetic and its attached dilemmas, Vampyr might just be worth sinking your teeth into on Nintendo Switch.
