    With a competitive Freestyle mode, Urban Trial Playground would likely have earned itself a spot in the roster of local multi games I play with my roommates. I would have loved to compete with them for high scores in UTP’s impeccably designed courses. Unfortunately, UTP’s multiplayer only offers the lesser of its two modes, which means I’ve had all the enjoyment there is to have with it. I’ll think fondly of it, but like those ’90s Capri Sun commercials, its days are past.

    Urban Trial Playground may not reinvent the stunt bike wheel, but it does provide an extremely fluid and inviting arcade experience for Switch owners. Tactile controls and pacy, highly replayable levels make this an accomplished cut-price racer package.

    An impressively enjoyable take on the Trials formula that'll appeal to those who find Trials too frustrating. However, if you take your dirt bike tricks seriously then you should stick to the classics.

    Urban Trial Playground is a simple but direct arcade proposal, with a bombproof gameplay that will delight players who enjoy challenges. Its multiplayer mode is a great feature and it’s very fun.

    Urban Trial Playground is a simple, yet enjoyable stunt show through various parts of California. The levels are well made and the scenery looks amazing. There's a good variety of levels, but they don't take that long to complete.

    A fun experience whilst it lasts, Urban Trial Playground provides some solid motorbike action on the Switch. The sunny setting is the perfect backdrop for this laid-back, yet sufficiently challenging game.

    For fans of the Trials series looking for a similar experience on Nintendo Switch, Urban Trial Playground comes highly recommended. It may not feel like quite as skillful a game to play, but it's still challenging and entertaining nonetheless. It also packs quite a lot of content for its budget price.

    If you just want something to jump in and out of without any commitment required, Urban Trial Playground will more or less do the trick. If you want anything more than that, you’ll probably have to wait until Trials Rising in February, but until then, this will act as an okay stopgap.

    Urban Trial Playground may be not as deep or demanding as its model, but it offers enough challenges to have a good time playing it, as long as you can pass on its poor visuals and level-design.

    If you’re after a 2.5D side-scrolling stunt game, the Urban Trial Playground is going to scratch that itch for you on Switch. Sure, it’s riffing off the Trials series, but it’s a fun and lengthy alternative that’s a good fit for Nintendo’s platform.

    Urban Trial Playground does a few interesting things, but they’re overshadowed and ultimately held back by a number of factors. While I found the scored-based levels that relied on tricks to be more fun than the racing sections, gameplay is just not deep enough to be engaging for more than a short period of time. Couple that with the somewhat frequent software crashes and it’s easy to see how this ends up becoming a forgettable experience.

    An average arcade game for relaxing after a long day that will entertain you for a while but in a few days, you will forget about it. The core of the game is fun, but after playing for a while you are facing stereotype and boredom.

Not only because it becomes repetitive quite quickly but also because it takes just 2-3 hours to complete the game. I only played it in handheld mode and the graphics are pretty blurry, not very nice to look at. 20€/$ are a bit much for this game but if you are into this kind of games (Trials, Joe Danger etc.) you can definitely have some fun during a long train ride or while watching TV. Just don't expect too much or wait for a sale.… Full Review »

Pierwsza część wypełniona byłaKilka lat temu ograłem UT Freestyle na Nintendo 3DS i mogę odnieść się do zmian jakie zaszły w UT Playground. Pierwsza część wypełniona była trudnymi technicznie zjazdami i podjazdami. Nowy tytuł na Nintendo Switch to już typowa pozycja arcade na nabijanie punktów. Oczywiście, aby zdobyć highscore należy nauczyć się jazdy na jednym kole i łączyć tricki w combo. Jeśli gracz będzie chciał przejechać level z lewej na prawą to po prostu to zrobi. Kilka przeszkód i ramp będzie stanowiło lekki problem, ale po kilku próbach uda się dojechać do mety. Twórcy dodatkowo w każdym poziomie dodali wyzwania, które spowodują kolejne powtarzanie level'u, np: ukończ bez rozbicia się, wykonaj kilka backflip'ów lub frontflip'ów, utwórz combo trick'ów na określony rekord... itp. Dodatkowo należy też zebrać określoną ilość żetonów stanowiących walutę do kupowania części dla motocykli i ciuchów dla kierowcy. Cenne krążki umieszczone są głównie w łatwo dostępnych miejscach (np. za rampą), więc łatwo je ominąć i trzeba się wracać. Dosłownie w kilkunastu przypadkach są trudniej dostępne (trzeba wykonać wysoki skok) i wtedy należy powtórzyć kilka prób na jego zdobycie. Każdą mapkę zrobiłem na 100% zbierając pięć gwiazdek, wszystkie żetony i wyzwania. Tym co napędzało mnie w Urban Trial Playground była jednak tabela wyników innych graczy. Kilkadziesiąt razy powtarzałem poziomy ucząc się jazdy, techniki i tras, aby osiągnąć najlepszy wynik. Jeśli złapiecie bakcyla arcade i wkręcicie się w nabijanie rekordu to na jednym level'u można spędzić nawet dwie godziny. Gra ma w tym momencie efekt „jeszcze jednego razu”, a po nieudanej próbie „jeszcze kolejnego”. Po pół godziny wmawiałem sobie, że już kończę, a i tak grałem dalej. Wracałem też następnego dnia aby wykręcić lepszy wynik, także tytuł pod tym względem wciąga. Zwykłe przejście gry nie zajmie dużo czasu, ale wbicie się na dobre pozycje w rankingach może być naprawdę trudne. Aktualnie konsola pokazuje mi, że z Urban Trial Playground spędziłem 15 godzin lub więcej. Grałem przed premierą, a później już po dniu wydania wróciłem poprawić swoje rekordy bo ktoś mnie pokonał.

    Najnowsza część to też zmiana klimatu. Akcja gry przeniesiona została z ponurych miejskich, robotniczych lokacji do Kalifornii, gdzie na motorach wykonujemy ewolucje na rajskich plażach z palmami oraz między domkami na przedmieściach. Gra ma ponad 50 poziomów i do samego końca coś jeszcze może nas zaskoczyć. Wspomnianą ilość należy jednak podzielić na pół, gdyż tą samą mapę możemy przejechać na dwa sposoby: przejazd na punkty wykonując tricki lub na czas pędząc ku mecie. Architektura poziomów jest różnorodna. Cisnąć na jednym kole będziemy po rampach ustawionych w basenach kalifornijczyków, po motorówkach w porcie jachtowym, po dachach domków jednorodzinnych, skalistym wybrzeżu, deptakach, różnych parkach, ślizgawkach, ciężarówkach... można by wymieniać długo.

    Niestety, gra ma też wady. Doczytujące się dane i tekstury w menu gry, a także przed rozpoczęciem planszy nie wyglądają ciekawie. Kilka razy tytuł też się zawiesił i wyrzucił mnie do menu konsoli. Na szczęście jest to gra arcade z szybko ładującymi się level'ami, więc straty w postępie gry praktycznie nie ma i wyłączenie tytułu w najmniej odpowiednim momencie nie jest aż tak dobijające. Problem pojawił się kilka / może kilkanaście razy i trochę drażni. Z tego co wiem nie tylko u mnie, więc jest powtarzalny.

    Urban Trial Playground jako pozycja arcade spisuje się dobrze. Gra wydaje się być idealnie skrojona pod stacjonarno-przenośną konsolę z szybką rozgrywką. Można pojeździć krótko w trybie handheld'owym lub na dłużej masterować rekord na większym ekranie z konsolą w dock'u. Odejście od formuły poprzednich części z trudnymi technicznie podjazdami przyśpieszyło rozgrywkę, ale na tej konsoli wydaje się to być zaplanowane tak, aby grać gdziekolwiek, kiedykolwiek i ma to sens. Zmiana lokacji na kalifornijskie, jasne, rajskie plaże to też dobry ruch, aby grać poza domem.
