With gameplay best suited for a mouse and keyboard, a frankly unflattering aesthetic, and truly dreadful presentation, Unexplored: Unlocked Edition comes off mostly unengaging. To put it bluntly, the core gameplay loop simply isn't strong enough to carry a procedurally generated adventure. On top of that, the procedural generation, while fairly extensive and capable of leading to genuinely unique sessions with each playthrough, isn't enough to make up for how lacklustre Unexplored feels overall.

Every thirty seconds the game freezes for five seconds as it announces to me that yet another level has been generated (?). No matter how seemingly interesting the mechanics of the dungeon appear to be, it’s just too frustrating to not get an input response because it’s chugging over some kind of background process. Shame, because the brutality of the game itself reminds me of the OG rogue games. Full Review »

The graphics are good but the lack of story make the game feel a bit empty. This game provide a lot of content as a great price. Full Review »
