    My most favourite video game of all time! Undertale is so good on Switch, the best way to play it imo. The special edition box set by Fangamer contains so many neat things, I love it! The game itself everyone knows by now... the characters are so adorable and the music is great throughout! Just play it already!

    The only thing that i can say , is that this game is a FREAKIN MASTERPIECE. Its full of beautiful soundtracks , realistic seeming characters and good humour. Some people say the graphic is not good , but i personally dont care for graphics in games , Undertale is one of a few games that is phenomenal without having good graphics. Other games could learn from this one , because UndertaleThe only thing that i can say , is that this game is a FREAKIN MASTERPIECE.     This is a fantastic game! The story and characters are amazing. There is so much to talk about! But after few completed runs the game is just boring but still its great!

    Undertale is, in my opinion, one of the greatest games of all time, and the greatest indie game ever (Minecraft doesn't count as it isn't an indie game anymore)

    What’s not amazing is joycon drift… genocide run is unbeatable now. Worst version of this game but still good 8/10

    While not being a perfect game Undertale holds a very special space in my heart, it made me appreciate a lot of things in gaming that I took for granted, the soundtrack, character writing, and environmental design to say a few. The RPG elements were handled well and the option of being able to choose genocide or pacifism was amazing along with the pixel art style.

    One of the most thoroughly enjoyable retro-style RPGs I've ever played (on the pacifist run), Undertale succeeds above its style's limitations to deliver fleshed out characters, surprisingly challenging combat systems, a great soundtrack, and shocking story twists.

    Fantastic game! Simple retro art style but full of charming and warm characters. The tongue in cheek and off the wall humour make this a joy to play and you can’t help but feel some sort of attachment to all of the quirky characters you come across.
    The game is simple but fun and the story and music will stay with you long after you finish the game.

    I recently played Undertale for the first time in 2022, and it definitely lives up to the hype. This game does so many things right when it comes to using games as a means of storytelling, it is truly ahead of the curve even today. I found the humor to be fun and charming, but I could see how it could be annoying to some.     Undertale is the definition of the ideal indie. The story is excellent with a lot of interactions and very interesting main characters. It's that aspect that makes this game so good. Your actions are very important as they change completely the outcome of the story. You can be who you want in this game.     Never in my life have I played a game where I feel in love with the characters and story to the point, I can remember all their names and dialog. Don't let the graphics fool you this game with make you cry and beg more content. The music is some of the best I ever heard, and I find it fun replaying making different choices. Undertale is a must buy.

Then, it has amazing characters, from Sans the Comedian to Asriel Dreemurr to Flowey the Flower, there is something about the character.     The game does so many things that I wish more games did. Choosing between killing or being a pacifist, it has different endings with boss fights that you can never forget, and great humour. The music is also some of the best video game music of all time.

    omg, what a game this is! I love the characters and even better, I loved the game mechanics. It's like mario and luigi, combined with eartchbound, and some bullethell games. I just couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next in the game. On top of that, it was very cleaver how you can spare or kill every enemy alternating the story.     Undertale is probably the best top down rpg, a very good sense of humor with strong characters and writing, a beautiful art style, arguably one of the best video game soundtracks and a fun gameplay style that is fairly challenging.

    Undertale was a joy of a game to beat. It has the charm of a game made by a single guy and expands on a genre of games I typically do not enjoy, turn based rpgs. Although I find some parts of the game boring and not every joke lands Undertale is a game I had lots of fun playing and was a great refresher from all the darker games I normally play.

    Fun characters, witty dialogue, and nostalgic sounding music, but the combat can become a little repetitive. The multiple endings give it good replay value, and the story twists in ways that you wouldn't expect. Puzzles are usually too easy to solve. I would give it 8.5 out of 10 if I could but I'll just round up to 9.

    It is a really good game, I like everything of it, except by the final battle, because the explanation of why shulk is able to see the future and shulk gets a monado just because the power of friendship. Apart from iOther than that this the game is pretty good, the soundtracks are really beautiful.

    A masterpiece. Everything about this game is great. I had no problems with the switch version of the game. I was kinda expecting the game to be longer, but as i have played it two times already and want to play it again i guess it does kinda makes up for it. I love this game, and unless you don't like a good challenge or the gameplay (which is not the problem of the switch version), iA masterpiece. Everything about this game is great.     I love this game , the characters a unique and strange and I love it. Music is a little repetitive in a water area. If you aren’t a fan of rpgs , timing games or others I wouldn’t recommend. This is not a first person shooter with heavily complex and dynamic combat. I really think you could enjoy this game but it’s less likely

Now there's not much to say that hasn't already been said in terms of praise for this game, so I'm just gonna stick to the parts I don't like in this review. It's story and characters are fun and surprisingly well written. HOWEVER, my main issues lie in the combat and the genocide run of the game. The combat is overall pretty solid, and I really like the bullet hell aspect, but the real issue with it is when you have to get through a lot of the same type of enemy. This game pretty much lives and breathes on shock factor and subverting expectations so when you already know what to do and how to do it then the combat starts to feel really tedious and lackluster. This is only worsened by the genocide run of the game, where you kill literally everything. Now the genocide run is super cool in concept, but in execution its a nightmare. Since you're committing, you know, genocide, the enemy encounter rate absolutely plummets, leaving you to just wander around for literally like five minutes doing nothing before you find an enemy to fight. On top of that, the difficulty spike when you reach Sans is actually insane. I get that that's the point but after hours and hours spent on just one fight, with little to show for it, I just gave up. Also, this is a minor gripe, but the "but no one came..." dialogue is a real missed opportunity in my opinion. It shows up really early on in the run, and it really creeped me out honestly. But then it just keeps on showing up over and over again the point where it becomes much more annoying than impactful. I think it should have been saved for much later in the game, and then used much less. So yeah those were my big complaints. I still love the game, but genocide run kind of killed my enthusiasm to go back to it. I still highly recommend it though if you haven't checked it out.… Expand

    This game is the one reference we should always remember to challenge out pre-conceptions in gaming design. It is not predictable and it takes so much freedom to entertain you. A cult classic to teach us to keep questioning gaming conventions, from unjustified violence to gameplay boring limitations. A milestone on the self-awareness and maturity of the industry.

    Being an indie game, Undertale is famous for one reason; it’s really good. Companies like EA make terrible games every time but this is a true masterpiece. Every little bit of this game is perfection. If you don’t have this game, get it!

    Undertale is THE best RPG, I would even say this game is much more than an RPG. The characters and areas are memorable, the mechanics are perfect, and the adventure the game will take you on lets you expirience everything- joy, horror, respite, and everything in between. And the soundtrack is absolutley amazing, probably one of the best videogame OSTs of all time.

    While Undertale may not be a perfect game by any means, I love the game's approach to the RPG formula. I love battle system and the spare mechanic is plain clever. Undertale is a hilarious game with a great soundtrack. I may not have the switch version, but the added content looks like it is very fun. I'd cant recommend this enough.

    Undertale on Nintendo Switch has to be one of my favorite games of all time. The musical score in this game is outstanding, the extremely amazingly designed characters all are so likable, and the story has the perfect amount of mystery in it. The puzzles fit well within the game, and the combat/spare system is one of the best I've seen. I would recommend this game to literally anyone, asUndertale on Nintendo Switch has to be one of my favorite games of all time.     From its memorable music to the goofy humor, Undertale is one of the best personal experiences I've lived in this medium. THE MECHANICS: Undertale unique mechanics makes it possible to befriend monsters and break the conventional RPG ruleset. By combining text based combat JRPG with intresting bullet hell action, this game has something new awaiting in every corner .
    THE NARRATIVE: Every character in the game makes you care about them. Narrative choices are well thought and each new enemy light up the players curiosity to understand what they need in order to find peace. When any enemy is killed, you feel that you made a wrong decision.
    THE MUSIC: In this subject, there's nothing to say... The greatest example is the number of remixes made from undertale's songs. They have roughly the same amount as the 13 games franchise (and notoriously acclaimed) the legend of zelda, and this is just one game!
    THE ART: Sprites may not be the high point of this game, in the overworld that is. But in game combat art is simple and nostalgic. It's made with care and fits every other aspect in the game perfectly.
    CONCLUSION : As I've stated before, Undertale will always be an experience to remember, I personally recommend this game to gamers that have a passion for RPGs and suffer from depression, anxiety or any existential crisis related mental illness, it won't be a magic cure but it sure as hell helped me.    … Expand

I went into this with VERY high hope, considering all the Fangames, Rom-Hacks and positive reviews.It was SO good, and it derived MORE then I asked for. There's a lot to love about this great game! I understand if u just don't like it but, i'll explain.
    If you didn't enjoy it that probably means you gave up at some point. Like a wall you have to get through to fully enjoy this Masterpiece.
    Generally, I found this to be SERVERY Underrated to the point where haters just hated on it for fun.
    Also quick reminder in case u forgot.

    A short game doesn't mean a BAD game.

    In summary, A RPG that is short, made by an Indie Developer, that turned out to be a Masterpiece of a game. It's got a compelling narrative based on YOUR actions.     I started playing this game without knowing anything and it surprised me on so many levels. Characters and the soundtrack are so memorable. I had to play through this game several times to really appreciate how good it is. Go in blind and play on the switch.
    It is not the best game I have ever played, but it deserves 10/10 so much.

    Complete masterpiece, everything is perfect: the gameplay, mechanics, story, characters, progression , music. Go into this game with an open mind, don't kill any enemies or bosses but still go in blind, to class yourself as a huge gamer you have to play this game.

    This game is a masterpiece. The dialogue is top notch, the music is memorable, unique, and marvelous, everything is so incredibly clever. Undertale is one game I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone, but especially those who grew up playing RPGs. It'll make you laugh, cry, and all the emotions between. One of the best games ever made.

    What can I say? Undertale by far the best game I have ever played. The soundtrack is the best in any game, the characters lovable and funny, and the story is great, with lots of different endings, choices.

    Spectalcular game by Toby. I love the characters, the plot, the storyline, the humor, the lore. It has the whole package for a person looking for an action packed adventure that will make sure you stay interested in it. Amazing.

I was expecting the transcendental experience the indie community has raved about, but instead I got something that is part brilliant deconstruction of the genre and part lazy gag game.     A true masterpiece. The music is too good to be ignored, and even though it might not be the prettiest, the story is also really good. That feeling when you complete the True Pacifist ending is indescribable. I am truly speechless. 10/10

    If you're lucky enough to have avoided watching playthroughs of the game or having it spoiled some other way, I highly recommend buying and playing this game.
    I consider this my favorite game of all time thanks to the amazing soundtrack and story.

    Undertale is unlike any other game I've ever played. Highly recommended for everyone. I strongly suggest you go in blind - don't read anything about it or watch any videos, if you can help it. Just remember, you don't have to kill anyone. (Also: Undertale features one of the best soundtracks of this generation.) Just play it!

    Probablemente la mejor version junto a la de PS VITA, basicamente por la portabilidad, este tipo de juegos indie son perfectos en un portatil... La banda sonora del juego es magnifica y el gameplay es muy original. Si eres muy exquisito con los graficos probablemente no te guste y se entiende, es un juego 8 bits basicamente. (sin embargo por mi parte, me encanta su aspecto visual.)

There are VERY few flaws I could find with the game. It's THAT good. I can't say much without spoiling the experience. I went into it completely blind, never watched any playthroughs, didn't read any reviews, nothing. I just watched the 1 minute trailer right before I played it.

    What are you waiting for? Go start your journey! It will be a rollercoaster! and you if you're a big fan of video game music, you will find lots of musical masterpieces in this game. Toby Fox is a musical genius.

    - Sometimes the battles are just unfair, you just have to memorize perfectly what to do or you're dead
    - There are some boring moments, like a whole zone of the game or when you have to farm.
    - The clue of the story is coming really late in the game. The story is like 15% at the beginning, 20% in the middle, 35% at the end, then is like 20% at the end of the second run and 10% at the end of the third one, if those runs are played the intended way, and you have to play all the three main runs to see the complete story

Any weapons did not deal much more damage than normal attack and took a turn to arm it. SoI enjoyed Undertale until it ended.     If there was one video game that everybody, even non-gamers should play, it's this one, because it has a very important message. Probably the most emotional video game experience I've ever had.     Sure, the fanbase is toxic, but I still love this game. The music is indie game awesomeness. A lot of people complain about the simple fighting style, but I actually love it. The platforming mixed with choices was really cool to me. The story is also emotional near the end. Call me a Undertalebwarb all you want, but I am giving this a ten.

    The characters are still amazing and funny 3 years later! Not many games can pull this off and it's a testament to the character design of Undertale. That, along with its character-based storytelling, can sell the game alone.

    The battle system is simplistic, but innovative in its pacifist/genocide approaches and bullet hell ideas. While it can be annoying and tedious after long enough.

    The soundtrack is AMAZING. Every single area's atmosphere is accentuated by the theme and each boss theme tells you a little about who the character is, which i feel is very useful for character development in a game as short as Undertale is.

    The game is also only about 6 hours long at the longest! 2 and a half if you're fast and even under 2 hours if you're just doing the bare minimum.

    Finally, the multiple endings and ramifications of each. The ingenious code manipulation Toby managed to create 3 years ago is still present here, and is as terrifying as ever. Undertale's multiple endings and ways to abuse certain systems, usually the naming system, lend comedic value to the game.

    The cons: At the start of the game, it's very light regarding story but after passing the 3rd boss the story ramps up, and especially towards the finale in one playthrough, the story REALLY ramps up, but takes some time to begin.

    Despite its charm, Undertale's opening section is extremely tedious. Since it's so linear, it'll only take one try before you know everything, further playthroughs turn that area into a slog and all the adorable memes are only funny for so long, but the rest of the game literally spews relay value.

    Now, i have owned all three versions of Undertale, have played the game countless times and i can tell you without a doubt it is still fun, even after playing for 2 years. The Switch version even comes with two new bits of content not seen in any other version that i won't spoil. Then for the price tag, to get this masterpiece? It beat out SSBU for God's sake.

    In short. Amazing game, amazing soundtrack, amazing characters, amazing environments, even if they can get somewhat tedious f you like a good RPG and adorable characters + are looking for something semi-simplistic to play for fun (or for tears because this game will do that to you) Then pick up Undertale. It's an enjoyable adventure that's just long enough for people to get into but not long enough to be a black hole for your time.    … Expand

    Now let's be honest, Undertale is a piece of art. A piece of art you cannot miss out to admire. And now that it's on the Nintendo Switch, I decided to try it out, and no regrets. Holy damn this game was fun. It has a great story, amazing soundtrack, and a unique gameplay. I'm playing Earthbound: Beginnings next.

    I only played this game to see if it was as good as the insane fans say it is. in the end I don't think undertale is very good as a video game, but it's more of just something you experience. so is it worth experiencing? . . . yeah, it really is.

    Absolutely flipping amazing. All of the characters are so loveable, the story hits you right in the feels. I have nothing bad to say about the game. It's difficult at some parts but is still fun, no matter how difficult it gets.

    Coming from someone that played it on 2014, the game has aged pretty well, it still feels pretty fresh and innovative. Even if Toby's jokes are despisable, they're just lines of text so I don't think they affect the score. The MewMew fight was pretty good, the music felt a little bit underwhelming tho, but it was a nice extra.

    A must play indeed, and it's a great way of introducing someone to RPGs.    … Expand

It's weird because there are some points in the game that are gorgeous (like the room where you fight sans). If all sprite work was like this it'd be incredible. Genocide run can be a little grindy.

    There are a handful of puzzles. They are okay but not inspired.

    The writing is full of jokes, meta-humour, and absurdism, and there are a cast of memorable characters. I enjoyed this side of the game a lot.

    I found the story mixed, though. The broad strokes of an underground realm of mosters is good, but it's overly complex and confusing, partially due to a reliance on exposition dumps, and there are about twenty endings, which rob the game of its narrative momentum about halfway through and start to grate. I wasn't very emotionally engaged.

    The art is very basic, largely in the spirit of self-parody, but about half of the character designs are actually really strong, and there are some pretty environments. However, the other half is pretty bad. Some of the in-world character designs are not even intelligible, and there's an absence of animation which, while joked at, seems lazy.

    The music is unreservedly excellent.

    Overall, if just due to its sheer oddity, I have to recommend playing this.    … Expand

The world around you is wonderfully designed. The music is amazing. The stories are very well done, namely the Pacifist story. If that didn't give it away, this is one of those games where every single choice you make affects the ending of the game. Say you don't kill anything and do a bunch of other really specific stuff. You'll get the Pacifist ending. If you play through the game normally (and most likely blindly), you'll get the Neutral ending. But if you literally go around hunting for enemies to kill, eventually none will show up. Do this in every area of the game, and you'll get the Genocide ending (and one of the hardest boss fights every made). Overall, Undertale is modern masterpiece. Just don't go looking up fan-art of Undyne x Alphys... I've seen some s***.… Expand

In the True pacifist Ending, you are just stricken with sadness due to the fact that despite saving everyone, you cannot save one monster. My one small complaint is the graphics and sprites.
