Typoman Revised is a brainy and well-designed platformer, offering few hours of clever fun and some degree of replayability. The Switch version is by far the better one, more polished and with some new ingredients that will please the players. Unfortunately, the touch screen is noo longer supported (but it was on the Wii U version).

Even after a few years of its original version, the idea of literally using the power of words to solve puzzles remains brilliant and very well executed in the game. The lack of length is the main fault of Typoman. Important to say that the game can only be properly appreciated by those who master the English language.

This game invites us to stop and reflect before acting, for which reason we will need to use our cunning to solve the different word-based puzzles that we will find. Despite aesthetically recalling other great games, it has its own personality that sets it apart from the rest, presenting a magnificent setting.

I absolutely loved the concept of this game, marrying word puzzles with action platforming. Having a system which allows for massive creativity through spelling is such a rewarding gameplay mechanic -- especially as the developers programmed so many different results and easter eggs. My only real problem with this game was that it was absolutely too short! Its only a few hours of gameplay, but usually the sign of a great game by always wanting more. The art style is so enrapturing and sets the environment perfectly, marrying the eerie feeling with scary enemies as well. Will probably go back and play, but realize that I need to give myself time to forget some of the hints. The side games are okay. I didn't really find them that engaging, but they are a nice addition for those who enjoy playing them. The core campaign is where its at! Full Review »

The story can't be cared for, the platforming is bad, as well as non-existent, there is no skill needed, it all resides in the words that you make from the letters sitting around in the levels, but those word puzzles are boring, and hold no real merit, either they are incredibly confusing, too simple, don't make sense, or simply made up, and the parts that don't have to do with word puzzles, that make you participate in the platforming, well you may as well just give up, because it's one of the worst I've seen.
