What a refreshingly unique game! I absolutely loved the concept of this game, marrying word puzzles with action platforming. Having a system which allows for massive creativity through spelling is such a rewarding gameplay mechanic -- especially as the developers programmed so many different results and easter eggs. My only real problem with this game was that it was absolutely too short! Its only a few hours of gameplay, but usually the sign of a great game by always wanting more. The art style is so enrapturing and sets the environment perfectly, marrying the eerie feeling with scary enemies as well. Will probably go back and play, but realize that I need to give myself time to forget some of the hints. The side games are okay. I didn't really find them that engaging, but they are a nice addition for those who enjoy playing them. The core campaign is where its at! Expand

Typoman is a waste of time, and here's why. The story can't be cared for, the platforming is bad, as well as non-existent, there is no skill needed, it all resides in the words that you make from the letters sitting around in the levels, but those word puzzles are boring, and hold no real merit, either they are incredibly confusing, too simple, don't make sense, or simply made up, and theTypoman is a waste of time, and here's why. Overall, Typoman had an intriguing premise and managed to tell a decent story with great atmosphere, good visual design, and interesting puzzle mechanics. In the end, however, the title doesn't on many of the gameplay mechanics, with good but inconsistent puzzles and often awkward and awful platforming. Coupled with its short runtime, Typoman isn't bad, but it's certainly a long way from being as good as the idea and visuals behind it.

In the end, Typoman might appear to offer a clever blend of Limbo’s brooding world and Scribblenauts’ creative spark, but summing it up as such would gloss over the fact that its limitations never let it ascend to the heights that a combination of those titles might suggest.

Typoman: Revised is a puzzle-packed love letter to letters undercut by slightly scrambled platforming mechanics.
