Dec 16, 2020The Witcher 3 should at least be experienced for its good attributes, but you must be prepared for any frustrations. It is a game that bets a large part of its chips on the narrative and the world, so players more used to well-polished mechanics will be surprised.

Oct 16, 2019The Witcher 3 tells an excellent story and offers a massive, epic adventure, but the compromises made to this Switch version mean that this is a (significantly) lesser version of one of the most respected blockbusters out there. In doing that, a little of the magic and prestige behind The Witcher itself has been scrubbed away.

Oct 14, 2019The Witcher 3 looks pretty bad on the Switch, but it's still an incredible RPG that shouldn't be missed if this the only way to play it.

Oct 14, 2019It's a great thing to have The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch. Players will be able to (re)discover one the best games of the past years - with its two expansions- and take it everywhere they want. If you're not too disappointed by the visual downgrade, a needed sacrifice in order to have it running quite smoothly, and don't try it on a TV, on which it's painful to watch, everything is going to be fine Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and this epic and engaging dark fantasy adventure.
-
Oct 14, 2019A well-functioning port of a brilliant game with an unexpected identity crisis. Given the availability of other platforms, the visual compromise makes this technical marvel a difficult sell to first-timers and veterans.

Oct 28, 2019Should you play The Witcher 3? Absolutely. It’s one of a handful of games from the past decade that you simply can’t miss. Should you play The Witcher 3 on the Switch? Honestly, probably not.

Oct 14, 2019I don't mean to say Witcher 3 is unplayable or ruined by the effort spent getting it into Switch-compatible shape. However, completely new players should be warned that CDPR's cinematic vision for the game is compromised just enough to take this port out of my running for a clear-cut recommendation. If you've already played Witcher 3 and want an excuse to burn through it anew on the go, complete with convenient "fast forward to the expansions" shortcuts, then yes, this port is a great reason to return to Nilfgaard. If you don't have any other consoles or a decent gaming PC, then "Switcher 3" is absolutely playable.

Oct 22, 2019We often – perhaps unfairly – think of portable mobile games as inferior to ‘proper’ games. In the past, it’s only really Nintendo that has managed to make handheld games feel as big and expansive as what you can play on PS4 or Xbox, with the only exceptions being previous generation games like Skyrim being ported into handheld form. Switcher is a big and bold challenge to that notion, and it should be commended as such.

Oct 14, 2019The Witcher III is unquestionably one of the best games to come out within the last five years, and it's still impressive four years after its release. Yes, the Switch version sacrifices some of its beauty for the ability to take it on the go, but it's still a reasonably pretty game, well worth exploring for the deep gameplay, mature storytelling, and unique world. If you haven't yet experienced The Wild Hunt, then the Complete Edition on Switch is a great opportunity to check it out. [Impressions]

Oct 16, 2019It works really quite well. Obvious graphical compromises have been made, but it runs nicely, retains the sheer volume of content, and maintains a consistent stability. While mostly a novelty for those who already played it, it's an adequate Switch version for those who haven't.

Oct 14, 2019While there are certainly a few tradeoffs that have been made in order to make The Witcher 3 run on the Switch, it’s hard not to be impressed. This is arguably one of the most comprehensive experiences to date on the Switch and one I still can’t believe actually works on the console. Though there’s a few caveats, The Witcher 3 on Switch is well worthy of your time, whether it’s is your first chance to play it or your twenty-third.
