    The Witcher 3 is not a perfect game but it comes damned close. It rises above its smaller issues to offer a true GOTY contender. The Witcher 3 has improved on nearly every facet of the previous games. The combat offers a visceral experience where proper preparation can mean the difference between victory and defeat. Making effective use of your signs, potions, and oils and knowing whether to use steel or silver adds a higher level of immersion to fighting the world's many monsters.

    CD Projekt Red has crafted a rich world full of fantasy, ambiguity, and political intrigue. Even the seemingly smallest of tasks can become elaborate quests. The Bloody Baron questline in particular is unforgettable. The storytelling, voice acting, and relationships Geralt has; make the world feel tangible and believable. The change to an open-world means fast travel was needed. Of course, you can travel via signposts or you can get where you need to go on your trusty steed Roach.

    The game can be quite serious but also knows when to have a bit of fun and humor as well. You can participate in fistfights and horse races. You can also play a round of Gwent. I liked the in-game card game so much I even ordered the PS4 version of The Witcher 3 just for the Gwent cards.

    There is so much quality fresh content to be had that never feels like its unnecessary padding. Angry Joe had stated he got more out of the Witcher 3 for the same price he has paid for lesser games. I couldn't agree with him more. CD Projekt Red has also seen fit to offer 16 pieces of free DLC as well.

    In my PC review I gave the Witcher 3 a 10/10. So how does the Switch version fare? To put it simply the Switch version is one of the most impressive ports on the system to date. DOOM on Switch was a revelation for what a team could do for the FPS on the platform. Witcher 3 ups the bar for several reasons.

    Not only do you get the full base game and all 16 DLC's? You get the equally excellent expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well. All of this is on one 32gb cartridge. CR Projekt Red and Sabre Interactive have not skimped on either the port or storage. You don't need to worry about downloading a huge portion of the game. It's all here to enjoy.

    Visually the game looks good. Does it look as good as PC or PS4? No, of course not. You have to remember this is running on a device that is the size of a small tablet. The game has had a few patches. One patch in particular added a host of postprocessing effects that allow you to further customize how the game looks. You can for example adjust the sharpening. More importantly, the patch added Steam and GOG cloud saves.

    The game had concessions made to get it running on the platform, yet it doesn't feel compromised. It would feel unfair to give it a lesser score because it's running on less capable hardware. If anything the hardware it's running on and the job that has been done with this port deserves every bit of praise the other versions get. It's one of the Switch's best ports and Switcher 3 is an example of how to do it right.    … Expand

    I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. There are plenty of hit titles that leave a lasting impression with you but very few hit you like The Witcher. The attention to detail is what is so awe inspiring. Every creature has such a vast beatiary entry, every character has multiple paragraphs full of lore. It's quite outstanding what CD Projckt Red was able to accomplish.

    Story: It's fantastic! This has to be the second best story I've played (first being The Mass Effect Trilogy and that's 3 games worth of story). The main plot is so good and the choices make sense. There are no obvious renegade choices and obvious paragon choices. It's all gray and challenges your morality. Some picks sound good but end up becoming bad. And some are both bad and you'reStory: It's fantastic! This has to be the second best story I've played (first being The Mass Effect Trilogy and that's 3 games worth of story). The main plot is so good and the choices make sense. There are no obvious renegade choices and obvious paragon choices. It's all gray and challenges your morality. Some picks sound good but end up becoming bad. And some are both bad and you're forced to pick your version of lesser of two evils. And all the side quests are great. Before Witcher 3 I was use to lazy "Go here and do this" mini side quests that dotted a large map (Skyrim) but each quest is unique and detailed. Even a two parter quest has a lot of backstory and intrigue. Hell some side quests like The Bloody Baron is so well done I thought it was part of the main questline. And the characters are all written well. Each seem believable and unique even the one time deal quest givers. 10/10

    Gameplay: Like any good RPG there are a multitude of mechanics from brewing potions to crafting gear at a blacksmith to selecting your talents and skills to level up. Combat is the weakest link in this whole game but that isn't to say it's bad just above average in a pool of masterpieces in other fields. But combat is diverse as there are dozens of different types of monsters in 12 types of species that all fight and react differently. One is weak to fire where one uses zergling style of fighting. One is more powerful in certain areas. This is probably the strongest point as two monsters are never the same. Fighting a Drowner is not the same as fighting a Leshen. Not to mention the mechanics behind potions and oils that change up the gameplay for each encounter. Overall gameplay is a masterpiece. 10/10

    Sound/Music/Voice: Sound quality is superb. Sword strikes sound real, the creaking of leather and plate as Geralt moves around in cutscenes, monster roars and crys fit the monsters that produce it. Nothing seems out of place and too overly done that becomes annoying. Music is amazing as it has this Norway/Polish old timey feel to it. The casual traveling music fits well but where it really shines is the battle music. When fighting monsters and humans the music incorporates this chanting style in the main zones and this awesome classical style in the DLC zone. Not one is done wrong and fits the feel of what it sets out to. The voice acting is so top notch that it makes me wonder what the !@#$ Bethesda is doing wrong in their games. Sure voices are repeated but the amount of voices in this game seem to triple or quadruple that of Fallout and Skyrim not counting the main/super important characters as they all have unique never used again voices. This helps tremendously as it gives those people that extra bit of characteristic. 10/10

    Graphics/Switch Port: In short if you have a PS4/PC/XBONE and you're a huge stickler for high pixle count and frames then obviously this isn't for you. This is the weakest part in the switch port and even though the switch is, of course, weaker than pc/other consoles I can't overlook the impact of the game. When in combat the game pixle count does dip close to the 500ps to maintain 30fps. But in cutscenes the frames dip well below 30 and into 15ish at times if the scene is heavy. These are not in every cutsceen but close to every 3rd scene. And it is super noticeable. The scenery itself is blury and foggy and popins are always a given. The switch vs pc looks and feels are so night and day they might as well be in two different solar systems of difference. On TV the game looks so muddy. But in handheld it looks crisper. Also if you thought BotW was a battety vampire then ooohhhh boy this one is 2 BotWs playing at the same time for battery life. After saying that this port does have it's biggest plus which is the physical version has EVERYTHING on one SD card. Sure there have been patches since release but they are not needed to pop in and play. In a world where capcom and 2K release smaller games that require 20G downloads on physical releases. CD Project Red found a way to stuff ALL of Witcher 3 into a small sd card. HOW?! And this is the entire game PLUS all the 16 freeLC that came out PLUS Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine. HOW?! JUST HOW?! Fact is this is The Witcher 3, easily one of the best RPGs of this generation and arguably the best RPG of all time, on a portable handheld. That wins a lot of points BUT I cannot ignore the graphical short comings it does have. 8/10

    Conclusion: If you are an RPG fan/Witcher fan/never played the witcher then get this game pronto. I've tripple dipped for this game (PS4, PC, Switch) and it was worth it every time. The only people that shouldn't get this is if you have another way to play Witcher 3, are a stickler for frames/looks AND only play The Switch on the TV and never use it's portability.     Looks a bit like a potato at times but still exceeds expectations. I got this game on PC years ago but never progressed much with it because it was exactly at the point in my life where free time started to become a rarer commodity. I got it on Switch just for kicks, was really not expecting a solid port but I was blown away by how much of the experience of the game was carried over.     I am one of lovers of Witcher books, I played Witcher 1 which was a good game, Witcher 2 which was a better game but Witcher 3 was in a completely different league! Playing this game was one of my best experiences as an old gamer...

    What makes this game so special, is the fact that it offers an impressive combination of open-world, storytelling, music, and combat. The Witcher 3's world is captivating, with charming sceneries, combined with magnificent dark ambient music, which will keep you engaged right from the first minutes of the game. As far as combat goes, it is satisfying and pretty intense, just like you would expect from an action game. However, where the game truly shines is its storytelling; this is the greatest storytelling I have experienced in a video game; from the main story to simple side quests, its dialogues, characters, and the overall narrative are significantly stimulating. You are going to find yourself "lost" in its world, exploring and making quest for many hours.

    The Switch port stands close to other console ports considering how inferior the console's power is compared to PS4 and Xbox One. The game's visuals are blurrier than when playing the game on any other system and the framerate has a few "hiccups" sometimes (mostly on cinematics). However, none of the above reasons take away from the experience. CD Project Red had to "sacrifice" various things to make such a huge and demanding game (plus all of its DLC) run on Nintendo's console and the final result is phenomenal for Switch's capabilities, especially in handheld mode.

    In conclusion, Witcher 3 is indeed one of the greatest, if not, the greatest action RPG ever created. A masterpiece in all aspects that should be experienced by every gamer.    … Expand

Gráficamente será inferior a otra versiones como es lógico, pero francamente me parece muy ridículo el downgrade. Se nota además este más al principio, ya que en una de las areas iniciales, Velen, donde pasaras muchaaaaas horas; el clima es muy lluvioso,Francamente, un enorme juego, especialmente al venir con todos los DLCs que son añadir una burrada de horas y son realmente interesantes.     Seeing an open-world, GTA-like adventure game like the Witcher 3 running on the Nintendo Switch is just amazing. When I decided to purchase a Nintendo Switch I never would have expected that the Switch would be capable of moving such games. Obviously, the graphics are far from those you'll find in the XBox ONE or PS4, but still, it is a big achievement for the Switch, and because the gameSeeing an open-world, GTA-like adventure game like the Witcher 3 running on the Nintendo Switch is just amazing. When I decided to purchase a Nintendo Switch I never would have expected that the Switch would be capable of moving such games. Obviously, the graphics are far from those you'll find in the XBox ONE or PS4, but still, it is a big achievement for the Switch, and because the game is also full of cinematics, which render in a much better quality than the open world, it gives you the impression that the game has better graphics than it actually has, and the frame rate is pretty decent too.

    Speaking about the game itself, what can i say. I've put a bit more than 24 hours so far, and the story so far is very interesting, and the amount of side-quests you can play, on top the the main story, is just incredible. I haven't played the original game on any of the bigger consoles, so I cannot compare with those, but it is one of those games where the storyline is one of the best things of the game.

    My only complaint is that the jumping on top of your horse is not that responsive at it should be, which I understand is a issue with how the controls have been coded. You have to align yourself pretty well with the horse, which is a bit annoying sometimes. And something similar happens when collecting objects, but do not get mistaken, those are trivial issues compared to the greatness of this game.    … Expand

    Ya lo había jugado en PC y me encantó. Ahora lo juego en switch, y me encanta más. Poder llevarlo a todos lados en su modo portátil, es simplemente maravilloso. Hago esta evaluación tras el parche v3.6, y actualmente se ve espectacular. Por supuesto no alcanzará la calidad de PC u otras consolas, pero su rendimiento es impecable en la portátil de nintendo. Uno de los mejores juegos, sinoYa lo había jugado en PC y me encantó. Ahora lo juego en switch, y me encanta más. Poder llevarlo a todos lados en su modo portátil, es simplemente maravilloso.     El juego que la switch debería de ser incapaz de mover. Nadie se lo explica pero aquí está. Ésta fue la razón por la cual lo compré de salida aun habiéndolo jugado ya en la PS4.

    El juego en sí merece un 10 pero el que corra en la switch debería de ponerlo aun por encima de eso.     Grandisimo RPG, de lo mejor de la generacion, largo y variado. El port a la nintendo switch es sencillamente magistral. La unica pega es que en modo television el juego desluce bastante.

    Deeply absorbing game where the choices you make often have unpredictable consequences in large part due to the fact that you make them with incomplete information. Portrays war better than most. The game's lore, especially the stuff around the Conjunction of Spheres, is fascinating. I'm reading the books now for the first time in advance of a second play-through.

Of course graphics will not be as good as it's console counterparts BUT the game still looks absolutely incredible for what it is. Of course graphics will not be as good as it's console counterparts BUT the game still looks absolutely incredible for what it is. Framerate difference is noticeable but does not deter from the experience. Battery life is about 2.5 to 3 hours.
    I was sceptical when I bought this but I have absolutely 0 regrets in purchasing. I actually get an excited feeling in my stomach knowing I can just play it anywhere, as well as play a high quality port of a 10/10 game    … Expand

    I literally just created a Metacritic account purely because seeing idiots rate this game poorly due to its graphics made me fume!

    This port is unbelievable, I only play in handheld mode and that's my favourite feature of the switch, good luck taking your 4k copy with you wherever you wish. The graphics are actually great, I only found out today it's running at 540p.     In the end, the trade off between graphics and portability is perfectly executed. I own Witcher 3 on PS4 and Switch, and have definitely enjoyed it much more on the Switch!

    Tons of fun. I have never played Witcher 3. I am having a blast. It looks good and has kept me glued to my switch. I play in handheld only and I have no complaints with graphics or fps.

    The result is just fantastic - to be able to play such a deep and immersive universe, on a portable console, is simply the biggest challenge so far well executed on the Switch. CD Projekt Red found the perfect companion to bring this to reality with Saber Interactive. Even after finishing twice the game on ps4 Pro , it's a new pleasure to meet Geralt and this world , anywhere I want in my pocket !

    He tenido este juego en PC (Calidad Max), PS4 y ahora en Switch y solo puedo decir que me parece una autentica maravilla de port. Es una pasada poder jugar este juego en modo portatil, y con una calidad bastante alta. Tiempos de carga mucho menores que en el resto de plataformas y todos los dlc's y expansiones incluidos. Un juego obligatorio para los amantes del brujo y poseedores de unaHe tenido este juego en PC (Calidad Max), PS4 y ahora en Switch y solo puedo decir que me parece una autentica maravilla de port.     Simply amazing! I completed the main campaign on PC a number of years ago but didn't have the expansions, so there will be new content when I get there.

    Loading this up on Switch I am remembering what an amazing game it is. Playing in handheld you barely notice the downgrade in graphics as this is such an immersive game that brings you into the story from the off! This is how ports    Simply amazing! Tiene un mundo abierto increíblemente grande, y lo mejor de esta versión es que puedes jugar en ese magnifico mundo siempre que quieras! La historia hasta donde he jugado es bastante buena e interesante. Gráficamente el juego no está mal, recuerden que es una consola portátil.
    El sonido se ha mantenido en la misma, la    The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt es uno de los mejores juegos de la generación. Tiene un mundo abierto increíblemente grande, y lo mejor de esta versión es que puedes jugar en ese magnifico mundo siempre que quieras! La historia hasta donde he jugado es bastante buena e interesante. Gráficamente el juego no está mal, recuerden que es una consola portátil.
    El sonido se ha mantenido en la misma, la banda sonora (excelente) y la calidad del audio no han sido afectadas.
    El rendimiento es muy estable, me ha sorprendido lo bien que suele mantener los 30FPS, claro que en algunas zonas con más movimiento hay algunos bajones, nada que afecte la jugabilidad.

However this is a non-issue as it doesn't affect the gameplay at all, and in handheld mode you can't really see any noticeable difference between the different versions anyway. I have an xbox one but I still bought this game on switch as I don't get the opportunity to spend hours and hours playing in front of the TV at home anymore. I'd much rather play this game regularly on the go than rarely at home. On the downside, audio is reduced quality (but not so much that you'd notice), there is no special use of switch features such as gyro, the price is a little higher than I would have liked (Nintendo tax). However these are all minor issues when you consider the gameplay experience is essentially the same as you'd get on much more powerful consoles.

    Hail to the RPG-King, now on Switch and superb as it has to be. Controls are good and it comes with optimized (screen-fitted) inventory-system. Love it.

    just started this game after finishing Astral Chain. They are incomparable in regards to genre but my expectation is great. Except for the graphic is blurry it is still blessing that this game was ported to switch since i dont own any other platforms including pc.

    I love this game. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played. I played it through multiple times on PS4, and was excited to be able to take it with me wherever I went. I started playing it last night and I wasn’t disappointed! I am playing on Switch Lite. The switch screen is quite a but smaller than a 65” tv, so it is taking me some getting used to. I’m sure I’ll be used to it in a couple days. Is this the best way to experience Witch 3? No, but it’s the best/most engaging game I’ve played on Switch, yet. So, I’m definitely pleased with the game and hope that more RPG games get ports to Switch!… Expand

    it was the best 120 hours spent in my life. This game has the best looking graphics in game history. Amazing story desing with side quest which are not only boring quest where we have to go somewhere and bring 10 onions for example, but there is mini story, human tragedies and monsters. Music in this game is just just Amazing, Just 10/10 and play

    I´ve never played a game in the series. However, the game introduce you to a fantasy medieval setting filled with monsters, allies, and tough decisions that will follow you for the entirety of the game.

    The story is amazing. There is a quest in the story concerning a baron and, without spoiling anything, it is the most haunting side-quest I´ve had to date. Also the story concerning the main characters, and their eventual fate, is very intriguing. Which makes you constantly wonder if you did the right choice.

    The combat is pretty fun. However, I did find it repetitive after a while, which did spoil some parts of the final game, but the story had me so fascinating that i played through it

    There is also Gwent, which is a playing card game within the game (a phenomenon called game-ception). Personally, I love card-trading games, but I would understand if there are players out there who found it tedious.

    The world is massive. I´ve searched around 90% of the map, and still have a lot of terrain to cover. This, however, is helped by the monster contracts and the treasure maps.

    The graphics are the big issue. I played it on hand-held mode most of the time, and didn´t suffer frame-rate drops, and do believe that the image was very clear. However, if you can play it on a PS4 or Xbox One, it would probably look better, but you will be missing out on a great hand-held experience.

    The first expansion, "Heart of Stone", had a very compelling story, and I did enjoy the side-missions it allowed.

    The second expansion, "Blood and Wine", did give me a little bit of conflict. During the matches of Gwent, the area where you played turned green, and that happened also to some of the loading screens in that particular area. Also, returning to Gwent, some of the cards where not visible at every moment, and it was only possible to differentiate them for their attack value and/or abilities.

    Despite the problems I faced on the second expansion, I cannot recommend this game enough. It is gripping, filled with wonderful locations, adventure everywhere, and it is a lot of fun.

    I hope this game managed to motivate third party developers to introduce more games to the switch, specially Cd Project Red, which mesmerized me with this one game. Hopefully, in the not so distant future, they could port the first two instalments in the series, or even Cyberpunk (I know, it is practically impossible… but a man can dream).

    Being able to play such a huge open world masterpiece on a Handheld could have been impossible a few years back. The Witcher 3 on this little thing called Nintendo Switch, prooves the console is a small beast and truly capable. Dream come true.

    Played it some hours now and i really love it. It's an awesome port and a technical milestone. It looks pretty good in handheld mode without any framedrops. People complaining about the graphics - sorry guys - i don't have in every room, bus, train (or watever) a TV with me.
    I honestly can recommend the game.

    Lo tengo en PC y esta claro que no se comparan los gráficos, pero el juego en escencia no cambia y sigue siendo uno de los mejores, los que quieran mejores gráficos pues que lo jueguen en PC y listo (nada de Xbox One o PS4), un gran logro el port para la consola híbrida, poderlo jugar donde sea es el plus en Nintendo Switch.

But the performance, story and entire Witcher experience is there and it is glorious. Would only recommend if you mostly play in handheld though because a bigger screen will obviously show the cutbacks that were made much more. Cut scenes are locked at 720p at docked so that why the frames drop exist, but throughout game-play, dynamic resolution do it's charm. Yes, it gets blurry, but no one said it will be without compromises. If you can get past through that, Withcer 3 is a full package game, the sight to behold, full game experience, in its full embrace.    … Expand

    Story - great. Mechanics - great. Visuals (after the update) - great. On my PC I never had time to play The Witcher. Finally after 4 years I can do that on my Switch and it is the best of 2 worlds. TONS of content. After 3 months of playing (~100h in the game) I am probably in the middle.

    Really, I have this on ps4 and pc (the last one still the better version technically). But it's incredible that a game with so many content and story can run on the switch.
    Yes, it looks like a ps2 (or even first-wave ps3) title, but more like MGS3 aestetically.
    The rest of the game is the same. Gameplay is untouched. Story is untouched.

    First of all, the game is amazing. I won't be going into this because there are OODLES of reviews and critiques on the game itself. I will be talking about the technical issues that are a lot less than I expected from such a game on the switch.

    The first are the graphics. They have taken a hit but most of the really noticeable stuff is environment stuff which I've never taken to inspecting them closely so it didn't really bother me. It's mostly noticeable as you travel on your horse which admittedly is a common occurrence but never so bad that it worsened my experience. The characters and the cutscenes are absolutely GORGEOUS for a switch game that is this large.

    Bugs are an issue and I can't speak to whether or not this is a switch specific thing or not so I'll just describe my experiences here. Trees sometimes have an odd black box surrounding their entirety that flickers in and out (probably the invisible edges of the 3d model but I'm no expert), the stamina bar doesnt visually drain as you run on foot out of combat but you will still run out of stamina and have to restart running and such (it's supposed to drain on running and jumping, just doesn't show visually for some reason), some inventory/menu management hiccups that make things a little more annoying and cumbersome but nothing really too bad, and some pretty regular movement bugs while on the horse (not the pathfinding which has issues sometimes but occasionally when I go to turn on the joystick the controls are inverted for a second ish, mostly happens when turning at a standstill)

    Framerate is surprisingly stable from what I can tell but I've never been too picky. It does stutter a bit on each autosave which is a bummer since they are necessary evils due to the crashes.

    The biggest issue that I can stomach but some might not be able to are the crashes/freezes. They are regular and will interrupt you frequently. Doesn't seem to be anything in particular causing them, probably just the strain of running this behemoth of a game on the switch, which is fine to me since they have an autosave that is set to save every 10 minutes by default but you can tweak that and manually save too.

    SOME of the crashes/freezes I've had:
    Passing in the in-game card game Gwent
    Getting knocked back by a heavy weapon/attack
    One particular area near the edge of a landmass in velen freezed multiple times forcing a restart (the one with a Quen Place of Power and a tower you had to scale to kill a wyvern)

    Overall this game is amazing and if you dont have another platform or you want to play it portably then this does the job and it does it surprisingly well. Everything in this game is a joy even down to the little scripted encounters and camps scattered around that you can stumble upon or read from a notice board/etc that will get it marked on your map. Play this game!!!    … Expand

The game isn't as good on a TV/Monitor compared to other consoles, but having the option to take it with you is a technological marvel. And of course more importantly it's the Wicther 3. I won't bother writing a review on a four year old game, you already know how amazing it is. CD Projekt deserves money for theSimple. If you want a portable version of the Wicther 3, you can't go wrong.     Se escucha bastante bien, las voces son impecables y están bien actuadas. Desearía que algunos NPC tuvieran un poco más de voces pero la verdad está bien así como está. LAs partes de acción van perfectamente acompañadas por música que recuerda al Señor de los Anillos, mientras que en las partes tranquilas hay música acorde o incluso no la hay, similar a Breath of the Wild.

    -Gráifcos (9/10)
    Realmente me sorprende que este juego con estas gráficas esté corriendo en Switch. Una consola portátil. Definitivamente hay texturas que se ven falsas y que no están detalladas como en una consola de sobremesa, sin embargo aún así el juego luce genial, digno para ser jugado sin afectar la experiencia de juego. En ningún punto hasta ahora he encontrado partes borrosas, ni fallos graves.

    - Modo Dock/ Modo portátil (8.5/10)
    El único pero que le encontré fue jugando en el Modo portátil pues se calienta mucho la consola y hay que estar frecuentemente enchufando la Switch a la toma de corriente porque la batería se gasta muy rápido. En modo Dock estos problemas no existen y se puede jugar sin ningún problema. La portabilidad se ve limitada por la batería de la Switch, sin embargo con una fuente de corriente cerca no habría problemas.

    En general (10/10)
    La verdad esta compra me sorprendió, pues la edición "normal" de 60 dólares, viene con stickers, mapa póster, libro descriptivo, carta de agradecimiento por compra y el juego completo en un cartucho de 40 gigas (algunas compañías no ponen ni cartucho en el videojuego por estar "pesados" como Wolfestein). De verdad es un gusto jugar este tipo de videojuegos que están hechos por un estudio que se esfuerza al máximo en satisfacer a los usuarios, dejando la vara muy alta para las demás compañías mezquinas que sólo quieren el dinero de la gente.

    Finally I'm actually getting somewhere on Witcher 3, previously I have tried to play Witcher 3 on the PC and Playstation but never got far enough as I didn't have the time, now it's on switch I've been playing it on the commute to work and finally I'm able to get through the game! I was a bit apprehensive when I first heard it was coming to Switch, I was worried especially with the SwitchFinally I'm actually getting somewhere on Witcher 3, previously I have tried to play Witcher 3 on the PC and Playstation but never got far enough as I didn't have the time, now it's on switch I've been playing it on the commute to work and finally I'm able to get through the game!     So this is one of my few third party games. I do like nintendos formula in producing great games. However, buying this went without question. Having heard that it was held in high acclaim on other formats. I must confess to have only just started venturing into the game but from what I have seen it seems to have the making of a classic.

    just bought it. I like it much more than Zelda. Probably, different people have different taste.
    I find the story is much more mature and complicated.

    Stunning! The game runs for the most part at 30 fps. Although less resolution than PC and other consoles, the game is still beautiful.

    Definitely lot of love and involvement from development team has been put trough this adaptation to the Switch.
    Nintendo can be proud of such a release in its line up proving that yes, such a massive game is possible and creating a precedent for other third party editors who would like to develop for the Switch.

    Sure dock mode not running graphically as great the handled mode does. Very surprising when you consider that in handled, resolution is 540p instead of the 720p of the screen. Nevertheless the fluidity doesn t know major drawbacks and still with a pretty solid 30fps making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

    What amazed me is the gestion of lights effects. Incredible ones making you think you are playing as on a Ps4 with the handled mode. Sure some concession has been done, specially in dock mode with adaptative resolution but still highly very enjoyable as the narrative scheme and art direction (supported again by very high quality lights effects) are just INCREDIBLE and unchanged.

    Thanks to CD Projekt Red to be so generous with us, and showing great respect to the players. The content of the physical edition speaking by itself.

    Dumb idiots giving 0 because of bad graphics, ofc it doesnt look nearly as good as on other platforms but the fact that such a game even runs on a handheld is just amazing

    1. DO NOT buy it if you have other console and you do not intend to play it in portable mode! 2. If you intend to play it in portable mode then take charger or huge powerbank with you.     High score because of portability and huge surprise for the fact that this game appeared on Switch.

    Switch is a compromise and because of that I did not expect great graphics (in comparison to PS4, XO, PC). I expected smooth and pleasant gameplay and CD Project Red delivered!

    + smoothness
    + portability
    + port of one of the best RPGs of all time

    - battery drainer
    - poor graphics (though still within the expectations)
    - crazy expensive for such old game

    I gave 10/10 because I think the game deserves it and I love it, but just to be fair to you all I must say one more time:
    If you have other console and you don't intend to play it in portable mode - DO NOT buy it. Buy any other version! You will spare lots of money and the please of playing on on big screen will be MUCH better (mostly because of the graphics).    … Expand

    This game is amazing! The graphics definitely aren’t as good as the PS4 version, but we all knew they wouldn’t be. Being able to take this on the go is an incredible experience. Giving it a 0 for lesser graphics is insane, definitely worth picking up if you haven’t played or if you’re going to play in handheld mode.

Mas a versão do switch vai além, pois leva uma ventagem em relação a versão dos consoles, afinal, já em seu lançamento, o port do switch veio super bem otimizado e rodando de forma incrivelmente flúida nos seus 30fps, já o ps4 e xbox one, em suas datas originais, apresentavam quedas terríveis de quadros, onde até a chuva do jogo derrubava a taxa para 17/18fps. Então sim, a versão do switch vale muito a pena, ainda mais por já vir com todas as DLCs, é um jogo que, ao lado de Zelda BOTW, será lembrado por várias gerações, assim como Ocarina of Time é lembrado e reverenciado até hoje.… Expand

    Es borroso, bajón gráfico, la jugabilidad no va con el mando, textura acartonada, the witcher es para jugarlo con calidad ,pero esto no es calidad, no me llena por más que sea portable, es como que le han quitado el alma al juego. No lo compres y ahorra dinero.

    Having owned this on PS4, but not being able to use the TV for long enough to really get into it, I was stoked this was coming to the Switch. Then, when I first plugged this in, I was extremely disappointed with the graphics. I don’t consider myself a graphics snob, but goddamn, everything is soo blurry. It looks like a tiny screen that was zoomed in 3x. This game is not pretty, and ifHaving owned this on PS4, but not being able to use the TV for long enough to really get into it, I was stoked this was coming to the Switch. After awhile, you just get used it being blurry, and just enjoy the experience. In fact, you start to admire the world design and art direction, despite the poor resolution. The game is just soo good, you can’t help but enjoy it. If you can play it on PC or PS4, I would. I feel a bit of fomo going through this, imagining how much better it would look on another platform. But if you’re like me, and Switch is it (my PS4 got water damaged), then don’t let that turn you away from this game. Best game I’ve played on Switch yet!… Expand

    I must say I am really surprised that they pulled this off. It surely IS a really good game.

    Pros: - its the Witcher 3 for handheld gaming which is impressive enough - awesome story - the world feels really alive as ever - gameplay and controlls are still awesome - really nice physical copy with cool physical extras - one of the greatest soundtracks ever made Cons: - graphic    I must say I am really surprised that they pulled this off. It surely IS a really good game.

    Cons:
    - graphic in docked mode are really bad imho, so if you plan to play it in handheld only, this is not an issue but if you mainly play it on the big screen it looks really blurry (I recommend playing Witcher 3 on an other platform if you want to play it on the TV/Monitor)
    - pretty high prize but its ok i guess

    So should you buy it?
    It depends on a few things. If you are MAINLY a handheld player, then it is a must buy to me since it looks good enough and is still the Witcher 3. If you play MAINLY on the TV/Monitor, you might consider playing it on another platform. BUT that being said: If this is your FIRST time ever playing The Witcher 3 it is also good enough to play it in TV mode. Same thing goes for if you ONLY have a Switch and no PC/XBOW/PS4 - then you also should buy it for the Switch, since it is still awesome.    … Expand

    The Witcher 3 should at least be experienced for its good attributes, but you must be prepared for any frustrations. It is a game that bets a large part of its chips on the narrative and the world, so players more used to well-polished mechanics will be surprised.
