The Ramp captures the unparalleled feeling of real life vert skateboarding and that's pretty much it. There is a lot this game doesn't feature. What it offers you are the 15 minutes of flow that make a boring day great, at the price of a medium sized cinnamon pistachio latte to go.

Despite this, I still recommend The Ramp to almost any player who has interest in it. Its Zen-like simplicity is addicting, and a low price means there’s little room for regret. While you can draw minor comparisons to a wide variety of titles, there’s nothing quite like The Ramp on the market.

A successful distillation of the heart of skating in a very small package, The Ramp is a chilled out skating getaway that I could happily put hours into without a care in the world. What a lovely way to relax.

The Ramp is a simplistic skateboarding game with no goals or challenges to meet, all you do is have fun skating on the four courses and performing cool tricks. The game doesn’t have a huge time requirement, you just have fun skating around.

For its relatively low price, The Ramp does control reasonably well, and although the range of tricks on offer is undoubtedly quite limited, there's plenty of fun to be had here if you're not bothered about gaining scores or doing tasks like collecting S-K-A-T-E tokens. If you're after something a bit meatier, then you'll be better off going for something like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, or OlliOlli World, but The Ramp does have a certain minimal charm which we enjoyed.

So The Ramp feels more like a prototype in its current state, and it’s a shame. As what’s here works very well, but it’s low price tag can only mask so much.

With its relaxed pace, simple and accessible controls, and non-competitive approach, The Ramp rewards fancy tricks and moves but doesn't try to reach much higher grounds, as the basis of its experience is one of simple fun. Even though it does its job well, The Ramp could certainly be more ambitious and feature more moves, not to mention more content to explore. As it is, The Ramp feels more like a bigger practice mode, appealing to players specifically looking for something along those lines but nothing more.

It’s hard to recommend The Ramp simply because of how little it has to offer. It is pretty cheap but there are so many better skating games out there that will keep you entertained for a lot longer.

Essentially, it's a super-minimalist skating game, where there isn't much to do aside from a few tricks; treat it like a mobile game for filling 5-10 minutes of downtime here and there. Expand
