The co-op angle alone is enough for The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game to stand out above the crowd, especially on consoles with cross-play support.

It is lovely and refreshing to play a digital card game that isn't so desperate to be the next big thing in esports that it tears whatever heart and soul it might have had right out of the experience. I walked into The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game fully expecting yet another attempt to "do Hearthstone" on the Nintendo Switch. I walked away thoroughly impressed with how completely the game surprised me.

Glitchy, glitchy, glitchy. Very annoying to try to play. Too bad, has potential.

I played this on PC but it wouldn't let me add it there. Really enjoyed Lord of the Rings Adventure Card Game so wanted to add a review.I played this on PC but it wouldn't let me add it there. Really enjoyed Lord of the Rings Adventure Card Game so wanted to add a review.

    Game(s) like: Hearthstone

    Pros:
    - The core gameplay was excellent
    - The 3 campaigns were a good length and variable enough to make it interesting
    - Strong UI and mix of cards

    Cons:
    - Online game, gave me issues a couple times
    - It can be frustrating to get deep into a quest to realize you need a deck with a different archtype. While fun building a deck I would prefer each quest have a deck prebuilt to make the quest specifically challenging and consistent.

Finally, a GREAT card game and no freemium!! For that last bit, I give a big 10!
