    Excellent game by Nintendo. Ultrahand is potentially the best item in a video-game ever, with endless creative possibilities, mixed with the puzzle-solving; it's super brilliant. Over 220 hours put into this game, which is crazy for a single-player game. World feels alive this time and not empty.

    This game did what a sequel is supposed to do by building upon BOTW's mechanics and by adding upgraded features. The two main things I enjoyed most from this game is the insane amount of exploration and the fun building mechanics. The music and art design were both fantastic just like BOTW. I was happy to play this game because I enjoyed BOTW, so no matter what, I was going to like thisThis game did what a sequel is supposed to do by building upon BOTW's mechanics and by adding upgraded features. The two main things I enjoyed most from this game is the insane amount of exploration and the fun building mechanics. The music and art design were both fantastic just like BOTW. The depths added hours of fun exploration and although there are not too many sky islands, the rewards I found up there were always a joy to obtain. The dungeons are a huge improvement over its predecessor but once again the shrines can start to feel a little repetitive and tedious after some time.

    Being able to visit this version of Hyrule one more time and experience the changes to the overworld and characters left me constantly smiling. The only reason this score is an 8 for me instead of higher is parts of the game do feel very similar to BOTW which in this case is both a positive and a negative.    … Expand

    Awesome game! The freedom, the main and secondary quests and the number of things to do make the game very long, but still always something to discover even when you think nothing is left in certain areas. The possibility of building customizable machines further increases the hours of play and allows you to do as you wish.

    The only thing wrong in this game was the marketing that made it look like the sky area was where most of the new content was, when in reality it was the depths but it still deserves a 10/10 this is what any game dev should look up to (also ending made me cry in a game for the first time).

    Sobre o jogo em si, foi reaproveitado da versão de 2017, tanto em gráficos, quanto em jogabilidade e inimigos, porém, a Nintendo aprimorou a forma em que lutamos contra os nossos inimigos com as novas habilidades adquiridas por Link com o seu novo braço concedido por Rauru (Primeiro Rei de Hyrule).

    Com estas novas habilidades, o jogo ficou totalmente mais intuitivo para os jogadores atingirem seus objetivos, quer antingir o topo de uma montanha? ao invés de subir por completo e demorar minutos até chegar ao topo, monte uma construção que possa levá-lo em segundos, isso foi uma sacada genial por parte da Nintendo.

    A história por outro lado, foi na minha visão muito mais bem construida que o jogo de 2017, apresentando figuras mais conhecidas da franquia The Legend of Zelda, como por exemplo o Ganondorf.

    De forma geral, o jogo teve tudo de superior ao Breath of The Wild, usando a criatividade do jogador a todo momento, porém ao meu ver, foi uma construção mais fácil de se fazer e menos inovadora por reaproveitar grande parte dos recursos do jogo anterior.

    Nota final: 9/10

Or does it deserve a lower rating because every criticism of BotW hasn't been addressed at all? (Weapons break, rain interrupts climbing, and ridiculous/nonexistent rewards for exploring)
    Due to the increased price, I'd go for the latter, which always    Tears of the Kingdom is a really tricky situation.     While much of the game felt like I was replaying Breath of the Wild, it really started to grow on me the more I played. The world is largely the same as in BotW but with some significant modifications for the better. I didn't care too much for the sky, but rather enjoyed exploring the depths, which is eerie and huge. The shrines were much fun and focused on solving puzzles. The weaponWhile much of the game felt like I was replaying Breath of the Wild, it really started to grow on me the more I played. The world is largely the same as in BotW but with some significant modifications for the better. I didn't care too much for the sky, but rather enjoyed exploring the depths, which is eerie and huge. The shrines were much fun and focused on solving puzzles. The weapon durability is annoying, however, it does encourage you to use different weapons, which can be fun when using the fuse ability to modify them. Ultra hand is cool and adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay; it's not a gimmick and is quite useful.

    The game doesn't have traditional temples, but I do feel that it makes up for that by having an interesting world full of different regions, numerous shrines and also wells, which is a new staple for the series. Traversal is quite good even without the need to use a horse. The horses are difficult to control anyway.

    The game offers a LOT of side adventures, side quests and shrine quests. I generally focused on the main game but did one or two dozen side quests here and there. This is the first ever main Zelda game to feature voice acting. The voice acting is okay; nothing special. As usual, Link doesn't talk.

    The graphics are slightly improved over BotW but not by much. The game may appear graphically outdated compared to other games on other platforms, but overall it looks fine and nice. The frame rate could be better though.

    Many assets from BotW are indeed recycled for TotK, such as musical pieces, certain characters, flora and fauna, items and enemies. I really think that this, and the fact that there are no traditional temples, is ultimately what prevents me from giving this game a 10. But it makes up for it by having plenty of new things like the depths, the sky, new abilities, etc.    … Expand

While it uses the same map, this game was in a unique position as a sequel because you get to see the world change and how it’s adapted. The new additions were great with the caves, sky islands, and depths. The sky islands could be more expansive but they’re still impressive. The story is leaps and bounds better than botw and while the voice acting is still meh, it’s much improved from the last game and Matt Mercer kills it as Ganondorf. The actors for Sonia and rarue were also pretty good. The music was incredible. Every new track fits the setting perfectly and the boss tracks are bangers. The regional missions are cool and the temples are far better than the divine beasts. They aren’t traditional dungeons but each one has a unique theme and the puzzles are still fun. The new abilities are also great and add so much to the progression of the game. The durability was made even more fun because of the fuse ability, and being able to make vehicles with untrahand in so cool. The physics are insane and the fact that this game runs on a switch is a testament to the incredible game design. The final boss is the best finale in the Zelda series and looks and plays fantastically. One of the best games of all time, no question.… Expand

    As a longtime classic Zelda fan who wasn't a fan of BOTW, coming into this I was not expecting to love it as much as I do.

    They've almost perfectly fused what makes a Zelda game with what made BOTW. And it just works.

    Not to mention the physics are the biggest leap forward in gaming since Portal 1.

    I had been looking forward to this game since I finished Breath of the Wild five years ago. I had sky high expectations and was slightly worried I wouldn't enjoy Tears of the Kingdom as much as I did my Breath of the Wild playthrough, partially because I had just spent 200 hours on Elden Ring and my standards for an open world game have gone through the roof. Tears of the Kingdom easilyI had been looking forward to this game since I finished Breath of the Wild five years ago. I had sky high expectations and was slightly worried I wouldn't enjoy Tears of the Kingdom as much as I did my Breath of the Wild playthrough, partially because I had just spent 200 hours on Elden Ring and my standards for an open world game have gone through the roof. Tears of the Kingdom easily met and surpassed my expectations.     As Breath of the Wild was my favorite game of all time, TOTK doesn't disappoint, Nintendo has created another masterpiece. This game is just the better BOTW.     和前作《旷野之息》相比，这一作多了一段比较充实的前置剧情，既交代了事件起因，也能很好地表现出人物性格和关系。尤其是和前作时隔六年，能再次看到熟悉的塞尔达公主、观察到她与林克之间熟悉的互动细节，让我相当感动。

    可惜这段互动没能持续几分钟。之后魔王苏醒，天地巨变，公主不知所踪。这次再醒来，就是在「新手村」初始空岛上了。这里给我留下的第一印象，就是截然不同的氛围和生态：金黄色的树木和草地，白色的断壁残垣，厚重青铜色的管家魔像和守卫魔像。这些色彩组合在一起，配上一早一晚准时响起的空旷钟声，使得空岛虽然古旧荒凉，却依然不失圣洁之感。

    落到地面之后，熟悉的海拉鲁大地在眼前展开。尽管主要地形和前作相比没发生太大的变化，但是在原来的基础上多出来的错综复杂的洞窟，让地图呈现出了新的样貌。再加上到处都有从天而降或是嵌进山体的巨石，配合上时间倒转、通天术等技能，可以实现人物高度的迅速上升。前作里攀爬起来费时费力的高山，现在不再能成为探索的阻碍，反而成了随时随地发现新惊喜的藏宝地。

    因此，拖慢前进步伐的不再是纯粹的障碍，而是玩家自发的探索欲望，这是我认为《王国之泪》的一个高明之处。更不用提到处散落的各种各样的支线、怪物，以及需要护送的呀哈哈，总有那么几样东西会让你忍不住停下脚步。我一开始是要做什么事来着？我都玩了两个小时了为什么还在做别的事？——在海拉鲁大地上向着新的目的地进发时，这样的体验几乎成为了常态，却不会给我留下负面感受，我想就是这个原因。

    当然对于前期孑然一身的林克来讲，更高密度的内容也意味着更高的难度。缺装备、武器差、血量上限低，都降低了战斗的容错率。好在刚刚落地就能迅速抵达的「监视堡垒」是自己人的地方，这里的NPC会永远给予林克支持：床可以免费使用，灶台的火永远燃着，有一些基础的武器可以随时取用，还有数名已经是老朋友的研究员，会为林克指明探索的方向。这些细节都为玩家快速过渡到中期提供了支持。

    在前作《旷野之息》中，认识林克的NPC寥寥无几，所能提供的帮助和指引也比较粗略，从始至终林克都是自由而孤独地四处探索。而到了《王国之泪》，从最开始的「监视堡垒」，我就能明显地感觉到大量的信任、敬意与支持，被这些真诚的情感包围的感觉让我相当满足。

    这种支持感在我遇到第一个讨伐队任务时达到了顶峰。跟着讨伐队一起向怪物营地冲锋时，那种「我不是一个人在战斗」的真切感受差点让我哭出来（好吧，我承认前作里实在是太孤独了）。

    大小和地上区域一样的地底世界，再次给了我不小的震撼，因为这几乎意味着多了一倍的内容量。我也终于明白了为什么有人说「《旷野之息》是《王国之泪》的demo」——相比之下，本作的大地图由一个变为了天空、大地、地底三个，内容更丰富，情节塑造也更饱满，难免给人留下完成度更高的印象。    … Expand

    Beautiful, fun game. I wish Nintendo would make more of these types of open world action adventure explore games rather than games like animal crossing and pikmin lol. My only criticism of the game is too much copy and paste/repetition in many parts of the game just for the sake of filling the world with things to do, which fortunately you can opt out of.     The way they adapted the map and expanded it to have an equally large map in the depths and also have the islands of the sky is incredible, I can't even imagine how difficult it was for the developers to program all the fusions and interactions that come with this mechanic.

Controls are smooth and precise, but takes a while to get a grip on how to use all of the abilities. I was probably 30hrs in before I was comfortably using the abilities, and still messed it up from time to time throughout the game. The user interface was much improved over Breath of the Wild, but could have used further quality of life enhancements such as remembering favorites for crafting a fire with pine cone or only showing relevant items for cooking, fusing to arrows instead of managing large menus with each item every time. Music is amazing. It really enhanced the feel of each place you visit and gave each space an identity. Performance was not bad as well, I didn't experience any crashes or major glitches. The only issue I had performance-wise was the frame rate dropped quite a bit, especially in areas with lots of vegetation. Overall, could not recommend this game enough whether you are a open world sandbox fan, or want to try one out for the first time. Anyone who liked Breath of the Wild should be pleased with all that was built on top of it with Tears of the Kingdom.… Expand

They created a story that expands outside of that in the previous game in all directions. The world is deeply enriched not only on the surface with many new shrines, caves, and updated towns, but fully new maps in the sky and depth. One of the most impressive things of all is the physics mechanics build for this game.     I love this game. I grew up playing Zelda games and this is actually my new favorite. I can get lost in it exploring or crafting things. I would recommend anyone that doesn’t have a switch to buy one and this game.

Aquí solo tocaré la superficie del título, pero es que la superficie ya es una obra maestra. Empecemos.

    Breath of The Wild es una obra maestra y estábamos asustados cuando se anunció la secuela. Tener miedo era de tontos. Este juego supera en todos y cada uno de sus aspectos a Breath of The Wild. El brazo derecho es la tabla sheikah pero si la hubiese creado Da vinci junto a Eiji Aonuma. Por favor que buena que es. Voy a hablar de cada poder en individual.

    La ultramano: permite agarrar objetos y juntarlos mediante un pegamento mágico. Básicamente, el imán pero todavía mejor. El gran incentivo de la ultramano son los vehículos y gracias a los artilugios zonnan, podemos crear auténticas maravillas de la ingeniería moderna. Esto sumado a un sin fin de interacciones más, hacen de esta una de las mejores mecánicas que he visto nunca en un videojuego.

    De las mejores porque está la combinación. Ahora tus armas pueden fusionarse con cualquier cosa. Sí, cualquier cosa. Esto soluciona uno de los mayores problemas de BotW, la vulnerabilidad de tus armas, ya que aporta más daño y más resistencia. Además, dependiendo de los objetos, el arma, escudo o flecha puede tener diferentes interacciones, dando lugar a un combate mucho más estratégico y amplio.

    El retroceso es como el paralizador pero al revés. Cualquier objeto (menos enemigos) que se haya desplazado, puedes devolverlo a su sitio anterior. A nivel técnico es una locura, pero a nivel jugable es todavía mejor. Expande todavía más el combate y crea un montón de puzzles que se sienten distintos aun teniendo una mecánica en común.

    La infiltración es el más simple de todos. Básicamente, sirve para colarte en techos o estructuras que tengas encima, pero es muy útil y se usa mucho a lo largo del mapa.

    Hablando del mapa, este es doble I (inmenso e increíble). Inmenso porque son 3 mapas: las islas, unos territorios no conectados entre sí con algunos acertijos muy interesantes, la superficie, porque es muy parecido al mapa de Breath of The Wild, y el subsuelo, porque se siente muy distinto al resto y la exploración es muy distinta y estratégica. Increíble porque está genial diseñado en las 3 zonas.

    Los templos son un muy buen acercamiento a los Zeldas de Nintendo 64, pero se quedan lejos de ser como estos. Supongo que porque indican los puntos a los que tienes que ir, en vez de dejar tú que explores. Las boss fights son muy superiores a las de Breath of The Wild, teniendo una variedad inmensa de bosses y usando todas mecánicas que has estado usando en ese reino a la perfección.

    Audiovisualmente, es una obra de arte. El estilo artístico es de los mejores que he visto en un videojuego y la OST tiene algún temita que se te ponen los pelos de punta incluso si eres calvo. Mis 10 en este aspecto.

    Aunque he visto muchas críticas a la historia, a mí me ha gustado mucho. Me parece muy superior en la manera de contarse (aunque sí que es verdad que a veces puede llegar a parecer que ni se toma en serio), en lo que cuenta, en personajes y en todo en general.

    En resumen, juega Tears of the Kingdom. Es que si no has jugado al juego no sé ni que haces leyendo estas palabras. Me da igual que sean 70 pavines, te lo compras y no te va a decpecionar. Tan recomendado que si no lo juegas me enfado.    … Expand

    I really hope that Tears of the Kingdom is the future of this series. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the older, classic games, but I can’t help but feel that this formula is it. The amount to explore and discover is staggering. With the inclusion of the Zonai devices, there seems to be no limit on how to go about discovering this vast open world. I’ve been playing it since releaseI really hope that Tears of the Kingdom is the future of this series. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the older, classic games, but I can’t help but feel that this formula is it. The amount to explore and discover is staggering. With the inclusion of the Zonai devices, there seems to be no limit on how to go about discovering this vast open world. I’ve been playing it since release and still have not done everything. I love the return of proper dungeons, but I do wish there was more of them. My one gripe is what I feel as a clunky system to fuse weapons, shield, arrows and the like. You have to scroll through a slew of items in the quick menu to find the one thing you want to fuse, or find it in the main menu, hold it, drop it in game, then select the option to fuse. Doesn’t feel intuitive. But! Other than that, this game is damn masterpiece, and very much a Game of the Year contender for me!… Expand

    Really relaxing environments, huge maps, open world, good history, worth the money, very dynamic playable character, almost give 9 because the power level of some sages was significantly decreased and/or transferred to avatars, it would be more enjoyable if they just lend that power to Link exactly like Rauru's skills and BofW Champions did.

There are caves, the sky islands, the depth, bosses in the open world, good side quests... Especially the enemy variety was increased. You can now be more creative than in BOTW. Outfits are easier to get and you canIf you love BOTW you will love this game. If you haven't loved it, you won't love TOTK. Fuse and Ultrahand are easy to use and provide many options. No playthrough is the same.

Everything I ever really wanted, I liked Botw but to me it had some big flaws, lack of real dungeons, lower enemy and boss variety, and at times kinda empty map. Not only do you get dungeons back, you get caves which are basically mini dungeons in their own right, same with shrines. The reintroduction of like-likes, gibdos, and what are basically floor masters, and basically kargaroks, really round out the enemy variety, the reintroduction of gleeoks and gohma is awesome and all the other new bosses are real fun as well, story was great, I often felt more rewarded when completing a side quest as the rewards were often more worthwhile, side quests were much more memorable than Botw. It’s just better in every way, and then you add on, sky island and depth exploration, as well as weapon fusion and building and there’s no doubt in my mind that this game is a masterpiece.… Expand

    Pretty good game, the map is pretty big, the mechanics are good, the history is beatiful, but there is some problems that make me do not give 10 out of 10 to this game, the main problem of it, the graphics and optimization are absolute **** the art style is beatiful ngl but the textures and resolution are **** and also this game re-uses a lot of BOTW content, like, they didn't even change the **** hud and sounds bro, to make it feel more a original game more than just a dlc, most of the people that negative review this game is complaining about it being more like a dlc than a original game, and is not that wrong, the game just feel like a dlc, it seems your are just playing a BOTW dlc, but there is somethings they added that its pretty good, like the back of the dungeons, in BOTW they retired one of the most cool things about zelda, the dungeons, and the puzzles are not that hard but not that easy, requires a little of logic to complete.
    And that its, the review its over, the game for me its the 2023 GOTY, but also not perfect.    … Expand

    An absolute masterpiece in every way! I feel like every where I go there is a new discovery waiting for me! The atmosphere is great and every location is very distinct. Best of all the controls! They feel great and anyone who hasn’t played it or breath of the wild would be able to understand. My only complaint with them is the fact that you have to swap jump buttons in the setting to getAn absolute masterpiece in every way!     I wasn't sure how Nintendo would find a way to top their work in Breath of the Wild back when it came out, but I feel they have here – with years of more polish applied and refined exploration. [Issue #66 – July/August 2023, p. 71]

    The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
