This is my favourite DLC of the two by MILES! Yes, the Trial of the Sword is cool, and you can get a double attack Master Sword with stupidly high durability forever, but this one has a MOTORBIKE! A MOTORBIKE!!!!! After getting the motorbike, I never had to walk anywhere ever again! It's got drift physics and it can jump and you can rev it up and... it's perfect. It's a very niche reward for doing all the work you have to do. Man, I love the one-hit obliterator challenge as well. Very fun beginning to the list of enjoyable quests you have to do afterwards. You also get a few exclusive memories which I think give the characters some more personality than in the ones in the base game. It was an incredible addon! 10/10, very much recommend. Expand

Can't say I was a fan. Played and found it too easy and quite boring. I really don't see the fuss about these games. Bright garbage for children.

This review is for both DLC as you cannot purchase only one of them.

DLC Pack 1 somehow not worth it as you only get 1 extra save slot but you need to restart the game and with higher difficulty. The only worth content is the trials of master sword and travel medallion. DLC Pack 2 is filled with more content where you can upgrade all champion's power where I think it's way too simple

DLC Pack 2 is filled with more content where you can upgrade all champion's power where I think it's way too simple for an upgrade as you only decrease the recharge time. On top of that, you can enter some kind of "Divine Beast" to get a motorcycle, huh. I prefer my horse as you will also get ancient gear for your horse so you can call your horse wherever you are and my horse doesn't need a fuel to run.

You notice I rate it 6 and its majorly due to the outfits/ armors you get on both DLC which looks cool and awesome but it sucks because you cannot upgrade it, like what the flark? There's no point in choosing the DLC armor (besides korok mask) if you cannot upgrade it, it turns out it just for look. Shame Nintendo.

With this I can conclude that Zelda BOTW is very unrewarding and unfair (not to compare with other open world game). The game can reward you more but they decide not to, and I think with the DLC they will reward you properly but turns out its a bummer. Well, at least you get a lot of hours more in the game with the DLC as I've played it for around 10-15 hours more with it.

Though the DLC was somewhat unnecessary it was a lot of fun and added many more challenges to the game. It was quite fun to play though the bosses were somewhat disappointing.

This is the best game I've ever played.
Perhaps Zelda's legendary wild breath is the best game in human history.
Action, Hit, Parring, Open World, RPG It's all imaginary. I actually feel like I'm going on a trip in a game. I can do everything I want to do in this game. Shigeru Miyamoto, he is the god of games. I envy Japan for making games so well. Zelda's legendary rough breathing

Zelda's legendary rough breathing character was cute.
Nexus, the Kingdom of the Winds, Blade & Soul, Ookami, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it was like watching online.
Action and batting sense are no less than those of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, Ghost of Tsushima and Nih.

A perfect heartwarming tribute to it's namesake, the Champion's Ballad. I wish they added way more, but of course they needed to get going on Breath of the Wild 2. For 10 dollars, or 20 dollars bundled with the Master Trials, this is great.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Champions’ Ballad is exactly what I wanted: more of this game. Another excellent dungeon, more unique gameplay opportunities, and an expansion of an already fascinating story. A must-play for fans of the base game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Good: New Shrines, new divine beast, the bike you get as a price is cool, memories after you beat each are nice and add depth to the 4 divine beast pilots, final boss is a great test

The Bad: some of the challenges to get the shrines are rinse and repeat, using motion controls in this game sucks

Other Notes: The Champions Ballad DLC offers a ton of new challenges, even if they feel a bit rehashed sometimes. The 5th Divine beast is quite good, but maybe a fraction easier than some of the other divine beasts in the base game. And the boss after completing the divine beast is a great challenge. All in all, while it isn’t perfect, it gives me a reason to come back to BoTW, and that in itself is great

    Not recommended.

Other than the dungeon, which is fantastic, and the completion motorcycle item, this DLC is boring and forgettable.. Same generic goblin enemies and same dull cutscenes make this the worst "Story" DLC I have ever played. Nintendo, look at Witcher 3's DLC to see how to make a season pass worth it.

Feels like the laziest one could've gotten with dlc. The shrines are a bit better but thats not saying much since it just highlights how awful all the other shrines in the game are and the final dungeon is still depressingly easy and has no identity to itself. Overall very disappointing. Although the final boss was dope, better than ganon that for sure.

Bref, Nintendo TAKE MY MONEY je

Unlike Botw's first DLC pack, this one was pretty decent. It was much more enjoyable to play and added to the story. A few of the new shrines were more annoying than necessary, but other than that they were ok.

However, the new boss was poorly designed. It felt very cheap as Link just seemed utterly out-matched. I beat it on my first try, but due to its poor design and how unfair it

Overall, The Champions' Ballad was a really disappointing DLC in some factors but delivered in others and shall warrant a 5/10 from me. Hopefully Odyssey gets better DLC if it ever gets some.

While the secrets are abundant, it seemed a little too hard to find the EX items on your own without hours of exploring. The stories after all the trials are completed are sentimental and the best part. The Master Cycle is also a very cool and interesting addition. 9.4 out of 10.

I'd probably give this expansion a 7.5 but will round that up to 8 rather than down to 7. I gave the base game a well deserved 10/10. Breath of the Wild is also my Game of the Year.

While the Champions Ballad does provide a meaningful reason to revisit the game, it does seem to just be more of the same rather than a meaningful expansion. The developers were keen in implementing various challenge modes rather than expanding on the lore/plot of the game. The DLC starts with you revisiting the Great Plateau. where you are presented with a challenge mode in which you discover 4 new shrines. These shrines are excellent and put the shrines in the base game to shame. After completing these 4 shrines, you're tasked with travelling to the 4 main regions of the game. There you are presented with quest challenges that test your knowledge of the region's topography. This fits the underlying conventions of the base game. Rather than being given quest markers, the gamer is challenged to progress through exploration. I actually found these challenges rewarding but those of you referencing walkthroughs/guides will likely find it boring. Each region has 3 shrines, bringing the total to 16 in the expansion. The best part of the Champions Ballad is what happens next. You start a 5th Divine Beast. This was probably the second most creative Beast (Vah Naboris being first). The boss fight at the end of the Divine Beast is easily the best in the game. You're also rewarded with a cool new device that will change the way you explore the game. Overall, I'd say that the Master Trials and Champions Ballad are worth $20. Overall though, this expansion falls short of striking the same magic that the base game delivered. I enjoyed the two expansions but felt that BOTW deserved better. So much unexplained lore, ruins, etc. I really hope that the Zelda team rethinks their approach on DLC and implements more meaningful expansions in future Zelda games.
