This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm really angry with the maker of this game. What's the most important thing for a good puzzle game? The rules are clear and understandable. This game changes its rules mid-game. You died many times in the earlier levels by getting sucket into the vortex? Guess what, later the vortex will not kill you, but you need to get sucked into it to progress. You turn the world with L and R and move with the d-pad. Guess again. Later the control scheme does not apply anymore, now your character moves on its own. Objects in the foreground seem to be solid right? Wrong. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't and you can only know by trying. The challenges are unfair because the rules keep secretly changing. Maybe for that reason, the puzzles are not satisfying either, it is lots of trial and error and thinking will not help much. The result: the game is just not fun. Best avoid it. Expand

This game is short, tedious and boring. There are a lot of better games with better design, music and story. This is just not great. The controls are super slow and are a pain. The funny thing is that the puzzles are not rewarding in any way so there is no reason to keep coming back and playing it.

My suggestion, there are better puzzlers out there. Period.

I fount this a very challenging and interesting puzzle game. It was quite cool to change your perspective and thinking to solve the different puzzles. I bought it for vacations and think my money was well spend. Not like other games I bought recently.....

Very nice aesthetic graphics and music

It is hard to guess the function of the items in the game, and the physics, there is no explanation for how the items work (curtain, hole, etc)

With a dull mechanic that doesn't reward its immense difficulty, what is at first a stimulating idea becomes monotonous.

The MC Escher-esque artwork in The Bridge is very pretty, and the idea of setting a puzzle game inside his drawings is awesome, so it's a shame that playing The Bridge can be so soporific and unrewarding. The game suffers from absurdly long loading screens, the protagonist ambles everywhere at an infuriatingly leisurely pace, and the screen rotation mechanic is incredibly slow. There is a time-reversal mechanic that you use to fix death like in Braid, but it also feels slow.

Puzzles start out promising, but get confusing once the game starts introducing complicated new mechanics without sufficiently explaining them (e.g. getting behind a curtain allows you to alter the direction of gravity for certain objects in the level or... something?). Puzzles are made very hard and frustrating by the slowness of everything. There is possibly some sort of story going on, but it's not clear what it is. I gave up on what I think was the last level, because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do, and it was taking forever to try out new solutions. I've gone back and tried again once or twice since then, but it's just too frustrating and I have no investment in the story.

A pretty underrated puzzle game. I've found the puzzles very well done, having i nice amount of challenge. The art style is amazing and fits perfectly with the game. I saw some people blaming the character slow pace, but that's necessary to the game mechanics work properly.
So if you like puzzle games i highly recommend you to give it a try.

The Bridge feels right on the Switch hardware, specifically in handheld mode. The atmospheric music, mind-boggling physics mechanics and abstract visual style all amalgamate together to produce one of the best Puzzle games currently available on the platform. With the games' improbable extra challenges and post-game levels, It's sure to keep you going back for quite some time. Providing you don't go insane first.

The Bridge is a solid puzzle game that encourages you to look at the world from a new perspective. Though the game was easily completed in a couple of sittings, the difficulty increase and length felt right. A sequel would be welcome.

If you’re looking for a thought provoking experience, whether it’s to enjoy the artistic level design or to deduce the lore that's presented in the story, then you will enjoy The Bridge. It will take a couple of hours to complete the initial 24 puzzles of the main story and, not surprisingly, the final 24 puzzles are a more challenging mirror copy with an alternate ending. My brain got a workout plotting courses on 2-dimensional paths that don’t exist in the 3-dimensional world but the reality warping experience was worth it.
