Even though Big Block aims to add variety to Tetris 99, it's itself pretty slim in content. The offline battle royale allows you to select the level of difficulty, and that's it. The classic mode comes in just two flavours, that can be described as "hard" (complete 150 lines) and "crazy hard" (complete 999 lines). I'm sure that some people can complete the second challenge, but I cannot even come close. Then you can make things even harder by changing the initial speed, if you're on of those crazy people who need that.
All in all, Big Block still feels a bit barebones. Its main reason to be is as a trainer for online matches, or as filler for those times when you want a Tetris fix and you don't have Internet access.
All that being said, Tetris is still one of the best games ever created, so it's hard to argue against this DLC. Tetris 99 quickly became one of the main reasons to own a Nintendo Switch, and Big Block makes it a tad more compelling.… Expand
