There’s several pieces of amusing dialogue, some unique level settings, and even some rudimentary first person sections. The latter are very shonky, but we appreciated the effort to mix up the gameplay. Still, this isn’t quite enough for us to fully recommend Super Squidlit. It definitely has a certain charm, but it’s certainly not a title that will appeal to everyone.

The new roll mechanic REALLY improves on the level design and movement from the first game, and all the collectibles to be found with really interesting lore are a treat to find! The writing is also extremely charming! And the world and enemy design referencing rather obscure real life organisms was a delight to behold! It's not a 10 only because the First person shooter sections are a bit too long and halt the otherwise fantastic gameplay too much, but it's a cool idea! Expand
