Super Mutant Alien Assault has a long name and a lot of heart. The challenging gameplay mixed with sharp looking graphics and fairly good sound, all work to create an entertaining but short-lasting game. In the end it is an enjoyable little distraction when you just want to jump into a game and have only a small amount of time to do so.

Pitting you against wave after wave of alien attackers, Super Mutant Alien Assault's randomised levels will put your action platforming skills to the test. It can be a bit short if you're just going to play the campaign, though endless mode and co-op can offer a bit of a distraction beyond that. It might not have too much longevity, but Super Mutant Alien Assault is a fun little game to challenge yourself with.

This is a quick, fun and chaotic indie title that has the feel of good old retro games. But its random core gameplay loop makes it rather frustrating at times if you end up drawing the short end of the stick. All in all its a fun bite-size package for summer or just as a quick drop in drop out game.

Bought because I enjoy CrateBox style games, but... boy, what a disaster of an Icon. It's so ugly I had to delete the game from my Switch - the distaste of looking at it every time was greater than the joy I got from the dollar I spent on the game... Full Review »
