Super Bomberman R, released for the Nintendo Switch in 2017, disappoints in every way. The story of this game is simple, and surprisingly one of the better parts of this game. Especially the animations and cutscenes are well-designed - but do not get your hopes too high: This game is a disappointment.

The gameplay itself is the classic experience you love and came here for. With up to 8 players you can experience multiplayer-battles which are short and fun, but also quite repetitive. The Single-Player-Campaign has a Co-Op-Mode, which makes it at least a bit playable. As mentioned in the introduction, the controls are frustrating at points and especially the Online-Mode does not work properly.

The graphics and design of this game are outrageous. The first second you start the game, see the main menu of the game and listen to the sound, Konami lets you know that they do not care about either you or the game itself. I am not exaggerating - the soundtrack is one of the worst I listened to in the past few years.

The overall experience is short, since it is designed to be played local with friends. Especially for the price of 50 euros, this is a big **** you" from Konami to all customers who trusted them to release at least a decent game at launch.

I loved Bomber man as a kid so I was excited to pick this up, despite the $40 price tag and against my better judgment I decided to get it. After about ten minutes I immediately regretted this purchase. Way overpriced, excruciating story, and an AI that plays flawlessly. Wish I could get my money back.

Annoying voice acting, horrible boss design, bad controls, and dead multiplayer. Oh and it's 50$ avoid at all costs. Only reason I gave it a 2 is because it can be tolerable with friends.

Giving this game a 3/10 b/c local multiplayer can be fun when you have 4+ people playing, but that's about it for this game. The story mode is bland, boring, and the AI play flawlessly, especially bosses. It's absolutely ridiculous that this game has a $50 price tag. If we're being realistic this should be a $10 downloadable game from the e-shop. I was hoping or Splatoon or Rocket League like competitive online matches. What I found was the rank community is already dead. Average 5 minutes in the queue just to wait for a single player to join a four player game.

Overall quality feels like a game that should be $15 selling for $60.

Overall, not a great experience.

Super Bomberman R is fun when you're playing with your friends at home. But from a online or campaign standpoint, it is a miserable experience. The $10 Bomberman LIVE is a much more worthwhile purchase.

Not great. The lack of a level selection screen is bad enough but the voice acting is terrible! I wish the characters weren't trying to be funny! 4/10

Bomber Man R was my first Bomber Man experience, and it made me feel like I wanted it to be my last. The game's graphics are beautiful, map design shines greatly and the characters emotions really shined throughout this game. However. This game lacks in being comfortable to me. The controls are weird and moving around in the game is difficult if you choose to use the joystick. The controls are weird and moving around in the game is difficult if you choose to use the joystick. The story mode is nice, but feels plain, and the explanation on how to defeat the bosses is... well... not very good. Speaking of boss fights. The first three bosses are insanely difficult to defeat, even when you are on easy mode. Which made the game very uncomfortable and unpleasant to play. Online was terrible, with the matches lagging constantly and the characters having input lag even when I had a max signal strength. Not very happy with this experience, and Konami could have done better to make this game shine brighter. Expand

Stay away from this game. Its incredibly cluttered, with very bad playability and zero chances to make it entertaining playing alone. If its bad with friends, its worst alone.

Controls don't feel responsive at all, and this becomes even more apparant in online modes which suffer from horrific lag issues and dropped packets which often lead to several combatants bombing themselves out of the game. 4/10 for local multiplayer which is still reasonably fun but the controls wrestle you every step of the way.

The main problem with this game is the lack of value. I believe it retails at 59.99, i managed to get it for 34.99 but it still isnt even worth that.

The single player story is poor, barely challenging and barely fun, alone or as co-op. Multiplayer is OK at best, but there are better bomberman games that camw out 25 years ago with better gameplay, better level design and a better art

Super bomberman 2 hd at 20 quid would have been over priced but way more worth your time than this

Made with poor quality, frustrating control, outdated graphic and least playability.
That's Super Bomberman R. Kind of hard to believe it's a game released in 2017.
It's even worse than Bomberman 20 years ago. Just stay away with this game.

Super Bomberman R has a very short single player campaign, along with a very basic multiplayer mode. The most you will get with this game is the online mode, but it's the same basic multiplayer mode, but with more lag. Its soundtrack and graphics are fine, but it won't help your experience with this overpriced game.
(Seriously, it costs $50, and it's not even worth $10!)

    NO COMPRAR.

Bomberman is at its best with visual clarity and snappy controls. Super Bomberman R delivers neither of those. Sometimes "better" graphics are detrimental to gameplay, as is the case for this game. The character variety is nice, but Bomberman with wonky controls just isn't enjoyable.

Super Bomberman R is a complete and utter mess. By no means is it a terrible game, the standard battle mode played with friends or computers is actually quite entertaining by itself, but every other aspect of the game falls hopelessly flat. Did I tell you this game was by Konami? You can see the puzzle pieces fitting together now, can't you? The items in the shop are way too expensive, its incredibly hard to get into an online match by yourself, and the story mode is ridiculously difficult. But you won't even feel the need to 100% the story mode once you realise it doesn't give you as many shop credits as the standard battle mode. Normal play sessions for me consist of grinding for 10 minutes, buying stuff from the shop, then leaving the game to collect dust. I do not recommend you buy this game, even at a low price, it's just boring and irritating. Expand

Not even have a summary page showing kill/death after each game. Maps too hard to collect, and cannot resell unwanted maps.

i'm seriously disappointed on this game, the game had a decent potential, but man is when you really play the game pretty dumb, and nothing of expected, it was so boring and really lacked a strategy to the game itself, you just had to go random without a strategy, an easy way to win the game, yet with the storyline being kinda horrible too.

this was outrageously horrible and the price

Fly-proof Bomberman's gameplay never grows old. Even this time it works out well, despite the occasional stumbles over confusing arenas. The biggest issue of the game is its outrageous price.
